Your comment makes me think of the short story "The Wanderer" in "Star Wars: Myths & Fables" by George Mann, a tale that I saw as a metaphor for Luke's role in TLJ. Seems logical it could also apply to Obi-Wan in the fallow period between trilogies.
Same! Very much how Ahsoka finds her way to the Rebellion in the Ahsoka novel. She just can't not do good and help people - arguably also portrayed in the episodes with the Martez sisters in CW season 7.
Obi-Wan in exile is why I'm bummed that Detours was canceled, because I so wanted to see a senile, crazy Obi-Wan cracking being pestered by ghost Qui-Gon and being the nuisance that Uncle Owen talked about. Old Ben Ben needs grocery money!
@@mitwhitgaming7722 what I am saying is that this comment won’t be valid anymore after when the series comes it if people especially legends fans will look at this video in the coming years or months
You know, I'm actually surprised that so little was done with Obi-Wan in Legends while he was in hiding. I kind of figured that would be a well that kept going back to
I guess if they still followed the old canon and didn't create a new one, or if GL kept star wars and the EU, they would have eventually make a Kenobi show set after the book.
I think for Episode 4 to still make sense, we need to see Obi-Wan vs. Vader AND the Inquisitors where something happens that convinces everyone else, including Palpatine and Tarkin, that Kenobi *did* die *EXCEPT* for Vader. I think that would be how those scenes and lines of dialouge in Rebels and A New Hope make sense. Also, on a personal level, I LOVED Ferus Olin in Legends, but i think he would need to be fleshed out more considering he was the second most powerful Padawan in the Jedi Order in between Episodes I & II second ONLY to Anakin, then left the Order after him and Anakin accidentally caused a Jedi's death. He would take a LOT of fleshing out to make it happen.
I don’t think it’s a stretch for Obi-wan not to know Vader survived even after all that time. I doubt Vader or the inquisitors make the HoloNet. They strike me as a secret arm of the Empire that only those who had interaction with them have heard about
Furthermore, in Rebels no one seems to know anything about Vader other than that he's obviously a sith lord. I'm not sure how visible to the galaxy at large he is in the comics.
Well, I guess in Legends canon it worked a but differently than it did in the new one. The holonet didn't show anything more about Vader, it was just a propaganda video about another imperial victory.
I love when Star Wars Explained makes a video that's incredibly relevant so I can send it to all my friends instead of explaining to them myself when they ask
I would definitely like if it was another Jedi landing on Tatooine that caused the Inquisitors to find Obi-Wan. It would add to the stakes of being a Jefi in the age of the Empire.
One week until the weekly Livestreams on the TV shows are back! Those are always fun and usually my favorite part of keeping up with the newer stuff coming out
I really hope if they include another surviving jedi, that it's Quinlan vos. We know from the comics that he might have survived order 66, we also know he's a good friend of obi Wan, and well, he's just a really interesting character overall
@@OmarBhoo Oh I read the Han Solo trilogy and the legends book and comics we really need more mature content in Star Wars. It just that the canon comics gets ridiculous sometimes it was fun in the beginning and middle but it just gets old as for the Han Solo origin for me personally his book trilogy in legends did it better than the movie Solo.
I think an appearance or at least a mention of Qui-Gon is pretty much a given in this series. But there are still some beloved characters that haven't really been mentioned or made appearances in Star Wars media, such as Cody or Barriss Offee. While I don't know if this series is the appropriate medium for these characters, I would love to see their stories continued and for them to make appearances.

I cant say i like how the holonet would include news about vader in legends, I always had the impression that the public didn't know about him at all and that vader was more like a dark legend among the rebel alliance and even the empire
You have to know the context. It was a propaganda video about an imperial victory. Vader let that battle so he must have been mentioned. It wasn't anything big, just the fact that an imperial warrior Darth Vader won in the battle of Kashyyk.
If the series shows us Obi-Wan finding out that Vader is still alive, I hope it is handling better than it was in the Dark Lord novel. Luceno butchered the character and ruined that moment.
@@lo9893 to put it simply, Obi-Wan reacted like an elephant that saw a mouse. He screamed, he shouted, all in a crowded cantina where he drew the attention of everyone there and had to be told to calm down by some nameless bar fly.

I like that in both canon and legends he can't avoid getting involved in the local affairs. The Jedi Code truly is like an itch.

Obi Wan is usually seen as an example of the ideal Jedi.
i honestly think i would rather have the kenobi book adapted into a disney+ show, rather than the kenobi show we actually got
Those Ferris Olin books were some of my favorite growing up. I like to think he could have been an inspiration for Kanan.

In my opinion Han Solo in solo shouldn’t had been a solider but just a pilot of the empire navy.

Ay Ferus Olin referenced! Loved those books.
Can you tell me every hutt after the original trilogy or just every hutt in canon and legend
Why didn't Vader have a double spinning blade lightsaber like the Inquisitors
The spinning blades are a crutch that Vader doesn’t need
Deborah Chow said When the show starts Obi Wan thinks he killed Anakin.
He doesn’t know!
Damn that itchy Jedi Code!
If we do see a familiar Bounty Hunter, I hope we get either Aurra Sing, Dengar or Cad Bane
I’d love to see Qui Gon Jinn appear in this series.
Could you tell me about that red First Order helmet in the background that very obviously isn't a Sith Eternal helmet?
CORKY
I would line to see more about obi and less about darth...
How many times did Obi-Wan fight Darth Vader in legends
2 tumes, the ones we see in the movies, nothing more. And that's how it's supposed to be, they meet after 2 decades on the DS.
I always assumed they met between episodes 3 and 4 or how would he know he was "more machine than man"?
What if Obi-wan saves *Rey's father* who might be a kid at this time sometime during his adventure? That might be possible if he's born I think.
Where can we find that t shirt?!

I think he sold Grievous's ship and booked passage to Tatooine on public transport.
