With fact 32, I wonder if there has been a change at some point. I’ve been reading Master & Apprentice and in Chapter Eight, when reacting to the story of Rael Averross being identified as Force sensitive at five years old, Obi-Wan say “I was brought in late, and I was only three.” Doesn’t bother me at all, cause not even the story group can catch every little thing. Only stood out since I just finished that chapter yesterday
I noticed this video mixes up Legends and Disney Canon information without specifying which continuity each fact belongs to. But at least that particular fact doesn't affect any story, so it doesn't bother me either.
6:53 Labyrinth of Evil's version of "that business on Cato Neimoidia" is funnier... 8:51 Kenobi was also thought dead during the Battle of Jabiim... Anakin took it about as well as he did during the aforementioned TCW arc.
I love how Star Wars names coming from comedic late show hosts is a thing (Stewjon from Jon Stewart and Conan Antonio Motti from Conan O’Brien). I await when we’ll get a future Jedi named after Jimmy Fallon or a capital warship named after Arsenio Hall.
Missed opportunity to say that when Obi-Wan was undercover as Rako Hardeen, he already had the codename of Ben to keep his identity secret. That was a great moment of fan service that actually had a place in the story. Is it the origin? I'm not sure, but I like to think it is.
I think “Ben” is attributed as a nickname from Satine when they were on the run together. He reused it as Rako because nobody but him knew the significance of it.
Thank you. You have reassured me there is enough material to create the trilogy planed for the series. At least his meeting with Kanan and the final duel with Maul are sure to be included.
I dare you to do a 101 facts about a minor character like Bib Fortuna (who weirdly is my favourite character from Star Wars), I don't even know if there are 101 facts about him, but I would love to see a video about him anyway
It would be close, but if you included the Legends continuity, behind the scenes info, and toys, maybe even info for voice dubs for other coutries, you could probably get around 101 facts for Bib Fortuna.
My favorite "fact" which you didn't mention is that before it was retconned with the release of Episode I, Obi Wan was actually the brother of Owen Lars.
WAIT, SIRI IS CANON NOW?!?!?! I remember reading about their relationship in Legends books, and I always loved it! I always thought that played a role in Obi-Wan being lenient with Anakin about Padmé - because he understood the emotions involved, even if he and Siri chose to put them aside.
I absolutely love these videos you put out but i have one small reguest because you intrigue me so! Could you please so on screen what the source of the facts is from? So if I wanted to read the comic, what the episode or film i could? Thanks so much!
This here is by far my favorite star wars channel, the content you drop is exactly the stuff I'm interested in, except for the Andor series, but who am I to complain that we get to see more star wars stories 🤷😂
As anyone who has taken a Japanese martial art knows, the Japanese word "obi" refers to the belt of rank a student wears around their "gi," or uniform. Whether or not Lucas chose that word for Obi-wan's first name as a subtle reference to a Japanese swordmaster is anyone' guess. And, I'm actually reading 'Master and Apprentice" right now, so it will be interesting to see what that incident regarding the starfighter turns out to be.
Actually, I learned what "obi" was from doing crosswords where the hint was often just "kimono sash" and I solved the other words that crossed it. I actually thought it meant ribbon because that's that the kimono belts looked like to me, especially with the huge bow at the back, lol.
@@gasaholic47 Man that's cool that you stuck with it. My dad sent me to a karate class when I was around 7 or 8 but everyone else was like 5... I felt bad hitting these little children so I told my dad I didn't want to go back. Ended up doing ballet for 4 years.
Great video, thanks, I saw it as I was eating Just 1 little thing as a comment I’m pretty sure Obi-Wan’s seat in the council was Depa Billaba’s, but I can be wrong May the Force be with you
Fun fact: Ewan MacGregor's Obi-wan was in love with a woman named Satine, who died in his arms while he cried her name. Ewan MacGregor's character in Moulin Rouge! was in love with a woman named Satine--who died in his arms while he cried her name...
My favorite Obi Wan fact is that in the Super Mario Bros Super Show there exist two separate and contradictory characters named Obi Wan Cannoli and only one of them exists in a Star Wars parody.
Obi Wan speaking to Qui Gonn when Luke returns from seeing the death of Owen and Beru... where is your source for this? (I'm not questioning your knowledge I'm just curious where you heard this from... 🤔🤔)
Why wasn't a Padawan assigned to Obi-Wan during the Clone Wars? Was it just that Ahsoka was exceptional and they risked her being trained during the war? It seems that padawans often follow their masters into dangerous situations frequently - why would war be any different? Obi is my favorite Jedi (despite his faults) and I think he would have done well with another Padawan.

I've been trying to avoid spoilers and leaks for Obi-Wan, but every once in awhile, I'll run across some thumbnail with disturbing news. I really, really hope that some of this stuff can just be chalked-up to youtuber nonsense.
I see mentioning Star Wars and war crimes A LOT on the internet. What a word we live in. Thing is, are they war crimes IN Star Wars, do they have rules for that? Or is it allowed?
no matter what they say, he was still one of the greatest jedi who ever lived (or at least the most stalwart)
That's true.....but only from a certain point of view.
@@Bad_Wolf_Media "from my point of view obi wan is not evil"

has Satine Kryz and Obi-Wan's year on the run ever been told in full or only referenced?

I can't wait for brotherhood Obi wan is my favourite star wars character and I love learning more about him
My favorite "fact" which you didn't mention is that before it was retconned with the release of Episode I, Obi Wan was actually the brother of Owen Lars.
Was that ever specifically stated anywhere in the EU or just an early development idea that was never used? I never read anything that said that.
@@Compucles It was mentioned in ROTJ novelization with an only one line.
This video was so informative thanks so much.
Amazing fact
He's also very good at animal impressions.
You should have included the fact that Kenobi's name is the only name that Darth Maul screams out at the top of his lungs. KENOBIIIIAAAUGGHHHH!!!!!!!!

Master and Apprentice states that Obi-Wan was several years old when he was taken to the Jedi Temple. He mentions this was older than most younglings.
102: He is the sassiest being in the entire galaxy. 😁
Most humans are 90% water. Skywalkers are 90% drama. Obi-wan is 90% sass.
Definitely a lot of Alec gusiness fun facts I love it!
