The main riff is one of my favorites James has ever written.
Heavily underrated! The build up to the main riff is pure Het genius..

You’re bang on, my friend. Those verses are amazing and paint such an eerie picture. James' vocal approach combined with that bass and drum line work so well together
Ive seen/read some very mixed reactions to this track, but I love it. I think the atmosphere of the verses are creepy and cool, and riffs are some of the best off the album, in my top 5 songs from H2SD.
It has become a favourite of mine. I think my main gripe is repeating “Revenge” so much. Feels a bit cheesy.
next song has that one riff that you wont think james wrote it. so fucking heavy.

Don’t worry, I have been doing that. That’s how my opinion on Halo On Fire changed.
2 years late but if I'm right, I read it somewhere where these parents told Metallica that their daughter was one of their biggest fans. Saying that she passed away from a drunk crashing into her car on her way to a Metallica concert. Which made James want to write a song for tribute to her.
But I could be wrong?.

I have been watching them afterwards. Someone said the videos may distract from the songs themselves. Which I agreed with. Hence the lyric videos 🙂
I had the same thing with Halo on Fire! Exactly the same.
A little nip and a tuck here and there to keep the arrangement tighter is all this one needs for me. It has great riffs, no doubt. I have more to say about how it fits on the album overall but I will reserve that for some other time as you continue through with the remainder.

TBH, I feel the intro especially would fit side 2 or Reload.... the Fixxer/Where the Wild Things Are style of riffing.. just on an overall better composed song than any on side 2 of reload.

As a 40 year old guitar lover who never had a go at it for stupid reasons, I'm considering to pick it up and see how far I can go with my decreasing brain cells thanks to my age, lol..

Definitely pick it up. Take your time with it. You may be 40, but there is no rush with this kind of thing. Hell some actors don’t make it until they are much older!

I like the Revenge part and how it’s sung, the rest of the words yes are cheesy. It’s easy to sing too it though when your driving. Playing it loud!
It’s “murder one” you probably won’t like. It’s only real redeeming quality is that its an homage to Lemmy.

Hardwired has a lot of good album songs. You might not ever seek out a few to listen by themselves, but when you slap the album on you turn up the volume for the whole thing. Am I Savage? might not be perfect, but it think it has a good groove.

I really like here comes revenge but I just wish James came up with something else other than just singing the word revenge over and over again in the chorus.
He wrote this becaus one of his gsns got killed by a drunk driver

I love the verse so much, but not so much the chorus.
I think the word “Revenge” is used a bit too much. Kinda pulls you out of it.

I’m rarely a fan of solos myself. Most of the time, they serve no purpose for me.
