I’ve always wondered why it’s $100 but you have to bet $200. Why not just make it a $200 machine?
You normally get a larger return on the second credit if you win the top prize.
You don't HAVE to bet $200, you can bet $100. Each credit is $100. Typically when a machine says "Play # Credits" that is the maximum bet on that machine. So in this case, max bet is 2 credits of either $10, $25, $50, or $100 (since it's multi-denomination). Like Mr.Handpay said, usually the prizes are much larger if you bet max bet, so a lot of people like to do the max.
Imagine hitting the jackpot and winning $50,000 but if you only bet $100 more, you could have won $100,000 (as an example)
