I wanted a little more background on what kept the bully group together, I understand how they were a clique in high school but I find it amazing they would all still be together decades later and that the dynamics of the group have not changed or evolved. And then, for Kyung-ran, who was the victim after Dong-eun to also be still in this circle of psychopaths didn't make any sense.

    • @bluebee7335

For me it does makes sense that the bully group stayed together. Yeon-Jin, Sa-ra and Jae-joon where in the same social circle, they were horrible people who knew each other for years and didn’t need to pretend, also they kind of see each other as equals. Myeong-oh probably knew that in no way he could live the fancy live style if he was not with Jae-Joon, he practically did nothing and could spend a lot of money or at least pretend that he had a lot of money. Hye-Jeon is a little tricky because she could leave the group without a problem but she wanted to climb the social ladder I think she could have done it alone but the group give her status. What I think it doesn’t make a lot of sense is the girl they use to bully. But I agree that it would be great to see why they stayed together.

I was kind of puzzled about the romance myself. Ha Doyong is a young wealthy handsome and good hearted doctor. I'm sure he wasn't lacking in female attention. I was wondering why he was obsessed with this gloomy woman who barely gave him the time of day. I just assumed he connected with her as another damaged soul.

I just want epilogue about the doctor and Ha Doyoung's background. Who they were as they are right now. I think writer-nim didn't really explore enough.
My first thought the doctor would also be a Psychopath who kinda obsessed with Dong-eun. He likes how Dong-eun is a great mastermind of her own revenge strategy as he's her GO' s teacher.
And why Doyoung killed Yesol 's biological father? I mean he would end up be blind anyway🤷 it feels out of character. He's very meticulous and doesn't like to make his hands dirty 🙄

Saying it was a hand-holdy drama but they didnt explain the romance part. They showed it.
He practiced stabbing a man at his home every night. He got daily letters from his father’s killed and kept a drawer of knives. Mans was ready to pop and Dong-un was the tiny needle needed for him to release his crazy.
I thought it was obvious. He was pinning for her because he was unstable. I think this showed through in how everyone who watched described him “basic male lead” “puppy dog love interest”. In reality his character was set up to be a knight but as they said in the park, he turned out to be an executioner.
They took the basic puppy dog male lead and had him wear it as a mask. Poor guy hallucinated the killer following him around everyday!😭 he actually tried therapy for years and the only thing that helped was Dong-un.
I feel like so many forgot the details of the show

I may be wrong but a season 2 is definitely needed.

I’ve seen this series, and I’ve liked it. The only two issues I found are that I think that it could have taken a more nuanced approach when it comes to the theme of revenge, and that the last two episodes felt rushed. However, the series has a diverse cast of complex characters, and I really like that.
Now that we got that covered, I would like to take a moment to list my two favorite characters and my most hated character:
Favorite character 1: Hye-jeong (flight attendant): The reason she is here is because, out of all the bullies (and even all the characters in the first place), she felt much more fleshed out and complex (at least to me) as a character. The reason for this is that, even though it’s not a good thing that she went along with bullying Dong-eun, she did because she wanted to be friends with Yeon-jin, Sa-ra and Jae-jun (she was the only one who saw the bully group as real friends, and she was actually in love with Jae-jun), making her motives more understandable than for the other bullies (still no excuse tho). Out of all the bad guys, I felt bad only for her, because Yeon-jin and Sa-ra clearly treated her like shit, and it made me more angry at them (take the scene in episode 2 when they mock Hye-jeong for wearing that white dress from her dad’s laundry shop). That, combined with the bad girl charisma she exhibited in part 2 while putting Yeon-jin and Sa-ra in their place, is exactly why she belongs to my favorite character list. I’d like to finish by saying she was the most redeemable villain, and that the show’s biggest mistake was not giving her a redemption arc.
Favorite character 2: Do-young (Yeon-jin’s husband): This guy belongs to my list mainly because he shares values I hold dear: family duty. Ye-sol may not be his daughter by blood, but he doesn’t care about any of that. As far as he’s concerned, he’s her father, and he will protect her at all costs. Also, it is pretty clear that he is human and kind, unlike his wife (when he learned the whole truth, he knew better than to side with her). It’s also pretty clear that, at first, he truly loved Yeon-jin, as he was pretty much not happy about learning that she cheated on him and even gave her multiple chances to make things right. When he knew that she was unfaithful but also someone who was pure evil, he decided to divorce her and take Ye-sol away from that influence. I was especially passionate about the “daddy war” he had with Jae-jun (Jae-jun wanted Ye-sol because she was biologically his daughter), to the point where I was more invested in it than in Dong-eun’s revenge. I’m still pretty surprised that Do-yeong didn’t get any scenes where he interacts with his mother, even though other characters (Yeon-jin, Yeo-jeong, Dong-eun) had this kind of scenes (the scene where Do-young’s mom tries to attack Yeon-jin for cheating on her poor son was the funniest part of this series).
Most hated character: Sa-ra (junkie painter): Sa-ra got the “most hated character” award from me because she EXTREMELY annoying. All she does in the drama is screaming, throwing tantrums like a toddler, grabbing people’s hair, hitting people, shouting insults, and whatnot. I was especially appalled by the way she treated Hye-jeong, who was always very loyal to the bully group and especially to her and Jae-jun, and by how abusive she was towards her parents. Honestly, in the scene where she throws a tantrum so her parents will send her to the Netherlands, I was totally on her father’s side, because he at least tried to install some discipline onto her. It’s pretty clear the reason she is like this is because her mom coddled her too much. Seriously, it would have been better if she was the one who lost her voice instead of Hye-jeong. She’s worse than Trevor Philips from GTA 5 on so ma y levels (and as someone who played GTA5, I actually like Trevor because, unlike Sa-ra, he has redeeming traits).
That’s my opinion, feel free to share yours to me.

This drama was amazing! Given that, I agree on the love interest being totally off the mark. Not only that but I think the two make leads, so the love interest was given a really complicated development just so we are interested in his character, but the father of Yesol is under developed because viewers probably shipped him with Dong-eun. I think Yesol’s dad had really good potential, as at the beginning they showcased him as a character with backbone, but we lost that as the show kept going and he would do things randomly without us infiltrating into his reasoning. Doctor guy on the other hand, was kind of all over the place, one moment he is a psychopath ready for murder, the other he is doing all sorts of cringey puppy love things (which in my opinion didn’t need to belong in this show). Idk, honestly I thought I was the only one who thought these things, but looking at the comments I am surprised that I am not! 😅

The story was good, the actors portrayed their roles well but there was something off (?) about how it was presented as a whole. There were some unnecessarily prolonged, and some unrealistic scenes that drags the story, like the mother x daughter quarrel and the burning of the apartment, the school reunion, the incident in the church..to name a few... sorry to say this but, as a whole, it fell short of my expectations.

9.5/10 for me. The only criticism I have is that in part 2 they kinda turned up the kdrama stereotype dial a little. The romance subplot didn't really land for me. It could've been done well if it was darker and more complex in tune with the show, but I felt the writers just made it like a throwaway subplot they were forced to add. They could've stayed just as friends and the story would've worked out just the same.

Very good point about how the romance’s tone didn’t match the show. They easily could’ve made it even a little bit darker and twisted- they’re both very broken people. I think what also doesn’t help was the chemistry we saw between Ha Doyoung and Dong Eun- seeing that potential vs the cheesy kdrama romance w/the doc was an unfortunate contrast. I didn’t mind the cheese too much bc it was a nice emotional relief (along with Hyun Nam), but Danny was right- he was way an unrealistic simp and kind of sloppy writing.

Usually revenge stories show their main characters alone because they don’t want to hurt/involve others.
I thought it was refreshing to see the main character get help from both the doctor and the maid.
Also the doctor is very clearly unstable. I think that explains some of his obsession with her. If he were written more realistically, I think the only thing that would change is, he would become more violent every time she pulled away.

If we look at the whole story as just the illusion (or dream) of the main character, Dong-eun, everything starts to make a lot more sense and feels closer to reality. In her imagination, she gets to be the hero, take revenge, and even find her soulmate, Dr. Joo. After being horribly bullied and abandoned by her own mother, it’s like her mind split into two-one part that deals with the harsh reality, and another that lives in a fantasy world. It’s a natural way for the brain to protect itself.
Her enemies are way too powerful for her, and they only get stronger as they grow up, so she’s basically powerless compared to them. A lot of her success seems like pure luck, which is hard to explain-like getting the ex-maid and Dr. Joo on her side or catching the interest of Jae-joon’s husband despite her gloomy vibe.
As the show goes on, it starts to feel more and more like a typical K-Drama, especially towards the end. If the ending had been more open, like in 'Parasite,' it would’ve added a lot more depth and left the audience with more to think about."

Great show. The only criticism I would have is for some of the casting. All great actors and all gave a great performance, but some I think either didn't fit that role as well as someone else would've, or I just didn't feel their relationship with another character fit right.
Like the actor that played the doctor Joo Yeo-jeong. He felt more like Moon Dong-eun's happy-go-lucky little brother than a love interest. Not only the characters themselves didn't have any chemistry imo, but the actors appear to have like a 10-15 year age gap. A stronger more mature character like Ha Do-yeong would've made a lot more sense if she had to end up with anyone.
Adult Son Myeong-oh. The actor that played him is too charismatic and good looking to just play the dumb submissive errand boy. I think he would've been a better fit as Jeon Jae-joon instead. Dude looks like a model, it would make sense for him to own that Siesta luxury shop and wear all those high fashion outfits, and to be the womanizing playboy Jae-joon was in the show.
Adult Park Yeon-jin. The teenage Park Yeon-jin (played by Shin Ye-eun) was psychotic, intimidating, and physically imposing. Those crazy eyes of hers could freeze hell. You could see why everyone was scared of her, even the other bullies. The adult version came off as bitchy and unhinged, but not the least bit intimidating and it made no sense why she was the alpha of the group. She weighed 90 lbs. I thought even the housekeeper Kang Hyeon-nam could've easily beat her up.

I actually think she was setting up "Go" pieces, not chess pieces. It might have helped to see the doctor's dark side sooner. The doc sees the protagonist as a victim seeking justice. He has been traumatized by the serial killer who murdered his father so he's sympathetic. Even so they should have had some intensive conflict. People often underestimate the aptitiude of "cleaning ladies". Her abusive spouse has kept her from developing skills. She's so desperate to get rid of him that she works hard to develop her skills.

9.5 is the highest I can give and I'll give that to this drama! Very well done!

I had the same thoughts about the doctor's mom suddenly showing up at the roof top! That was SO random! It's like the writers got tired and just off the cuff decided, "Yep, the mom showing up makes sense. Green light that."

👏🤣 New night setting video nice! Somehow I see the 1st half was more addictive. I saw like 2 or 3 new episodes of part 2 and lots were not necessary and slow. The love interest is not needed and not good cast for that too. The rest of the cast acted beautifully

I hate that beautiful actresses or actors always play role of an ordinary ppl. And offcourse everyone is falling for them and want to help

Yes, yes, and yes. I loved this drama so much. The entire cast was perfection. Everyone was so interesting and had great individual story lines. I would watch a spin off of the bullies too!
