You were one of many passengers aboard the luxurious cruise ship -Titanic- Robustitude. The three of you awake in your cryptosleep sarcophagi to the sound of sirens and ripping metal. You barely get to the escape pods before the ship is torn apart. Quite possibly the best soundtrack in the game. Quite possibly not, because of how good some of the others are. I especially love how the soundtracks play based on what's happening, rather than at random. It always fits.
@ss yes. that's what he means by "what's happening". if you'd belive it, going into battle is something that "happens". you won't get battle music while tending to pigs.

The slide guitar section a couple minutes in seriously gives me chills. There is an element of madness within it. It sounds triumphant and uplifting on the first few listens, but on repeat listens, the slight hint of discordance in it gives off a sort of air of monomania, almost as if it mirrors the frayed mental states of your colonists as they try desperately to replicate the creature comforts they lost as shipwrecked spacefarers. You're not doing all this because you want to. You're doing it because there is an unseen force of raw determination animating your limbs, forcing you onward, tilling the soil under the harsh, beating sun.
Every once in a while an OST rolls around where every song is a masterpiece and can evoke emotions just with opening chords. This is one of those OSTs. Goddamn fantastic job Alistair Lindsay.
Was trying to find for my brother the song I think of as the Main Theme of the game. They're all so good, but it's this one right here. For me, this track is Rimworld.
I struggle to realise that this is a soundtrack. It's a masterpiece. I love it it's like western with some modern day soloing. IM SHOUTING ITS A MASTERPIECE
I had a colony, we were living in a mountain. An infestation popped up in a wing of the base that was under development. We prepared Molotovs and had all of our able bodies attack the hives. It was hopeless and we were overrun, 2 died. The only ones left were 2 of our originals, the other original colonist died long ago, and one of them was brain damaged, 50% consciousness. Lyons, the remaining healthy colonist, managed to get away, but the situation was hopeless. Armedwith only a machete, she ran back into the den of the beast. She fought till she died, and Ian, the brain damaged colonist, grabbed an uzi and followed suit. As they both finally bled out and the game over screen showed up, this song kicked in and I was reminded how much I love rimworld, ups and downs. Not all good stories are triumphant ones.
The sound of a well-oiled colony. Soon, it will be a heap go smoking rubble, but right now, Baird and Daniel are almost done with the killbox, Jova had butchered the muffalo, and Sezvozz has just completed a Masterwork statue named Birth of a Donkey.
