  • A 15-year-old English boy and an unidentified boy from Virginia are the subjects of the RUclips video "How 2 Kids Hacked the CIA," which describes how they came to the attention of the world in 2015 by claiming to have broken into the CIA's computer network. The fact that the call was placed to then-CIA director John Brennan's personal mobile number and resulted in a significant breach made it noteworthy. The pair, who were influenced by Anonymous, had previously broken into websites and damaged a medical college in Canada. In an attempt to intensify their actions, they joined AnonSec and proceeded to breach multiple systems, including those owned by the US government, resulting in substantial harm. In a different incident from 2014, a teenager by the name of Default broke into Danmark's official website. He was able to do so by using a humiliating pass that the Danmark government had given him. The Danish government came under heavy fire and public indignation as a result. After that, Default and another hacker, Kreeba, went after the US government in an effort to steal CIA director John Brennan's personal information. Despite their failure, they persisted in trying, which ultimately resulted in Brennan's email account being hacked and private data being made public. British police detained the hackers, who were later identified as Ken Gamble and Justin Liverman. Justin, who did not participate in the CIA hacking, was sentenced to five years, while Ken was given two years. Since then, both people have kept up their cybersecurity careers. The event serves as a reminder of the possible repercussions of hacking and the significance of protecting personal data.
