On of the most Impressive physical and mental performance in a WR in sports. You are alone managing your strength and energy for an hour, pushing at this speed all the time. Just incredible. Congratulations
It is not! Brainless crazy lunatic cycling broadcasters claiming wrongly that pro doping cyclists are the Best and toughest! Jacques Anquetil rode weak poor hour record 46159 meters in 1957! Long distance running world records were better in 1957! Kuts run 13:35 5000 meters world record in 1957! Kuts was 46800 meter form! Doping cyclist Franseco Moser build better bike than others and rode weak poor hour record 51151 meters! If Moser was a 10000 meter runner then The result 27:45 The world record was 27:08 Moser was not the athlete of year in 1984! Long distance runners were better and cross country skier Gunde Svan was much better than Moser in 1984! This probanda pro cyclists are the Best is wrong!
Finally an Italian as the hour record holder. 1.2 km more, it's unprecedented, that can't be human, that's a beast! I feel this record is gonna last a lot. 🇮🇹💪
@Not Again Myself being from stoneage I don't understand where you're going? Is it due to someone is touching Anquetil's efforts? If so, onw could argue that modern records with modern equipment and modern perfect surface tracks are very different from the past. Still, I'm of the oppinion that Ganna would still be a convincing record holder with ancient equipment on ancient track boundaries.
Congrats. Herrlich auch Deine beiden englischen Kommentatoren.
Total respect. Fantastic effort from a brilliant rider. Didn’t like the ignorant commentary comparing other attempts from the past on vastly inferior equipment. Taking nothing away from Ganna, it’s more of a technology race than a human powered one.
Boy, right afterwards he seemed like "ah, maybe a glass of water would be nice, maybe I'll try this again when my legs are fresher". Wow, amazing! What an effort!
So amazing! He nailed it. I said it's going to be like 55.8, maybe, just maybe 56 km/h. Adding a minute and nearly 1.5 km to the record? Incredible... P.S. Journalist asking one thing, and him responding with own story... LOL.
Amazing ride, however, the GOAT is undoubtedly Graeme Obree. He broke the record (twice) on bikes he built himself - no sponsor to provide massive cash / tech input - and revolutionised the rider's position as well (twice)... until the UCI banned them! (Oh, and his first record came less than 24 hours after he had marginally failed in a previous attempt...)
@@douglasherron7534 Sure, I've watched his documentary too. Inspiring. The point here is the distance covered, further than anyone has done so far. Happy to get all bike nerdy, but just understand the point of the claim first 🤦🏻
@@alexcharles321 I understand the distance covered is huge. To add @1.2km to the prior record is a momentous achievement and I am in no way knocking it. However, to be the Greatest Of All Time requires something more than one immense performance... don't you think? That is the point of my comment.
Ganna's bike frame was 3D printed. The surface of the seat support is chiseled with horizontal grooves to reduce air attrition, which was inspired by whales' water dynamics. The front profile of the bike was squeezed as much as possible. Everything was tailored on the size if Ganna's body parts. There are no brakes nor shifting.
I know it's not possible but, I wonder what the reaction of the originator of the very first bicycle (bicycle as we understand what a bicycle is) would be if he could see this.
My top speed on my poor bike its around 56kmh on plan, and 90kmh on a good down hill, and 35kmh in one hour on plan, and this guy can put my top speed, that i amoust kill my self to put, he can put this constantly in one hour??!?! What the hell, good job!!🎉🎉
Quel développement a tiré Filippo Ganna ? #filippoganna please which front and rear systems did you move with your legs during the race ? Congratulations for this fantastic record ! Was it 56*12 ?
Holy moly. Holy moly.Totally missed that one. Been following hour record since before Francesco Moser's attempts. Who's gonna throw Ganna off the throne? I think nobody alive on this planet.
@@AlessioPunzi I don't think so. Everybody's fallen back off the chair since Wollongong WC's, including the commentator in this vid. Remco just doing his thing tactics wise. It's not like he will win three monuments and two GT's every year from now on. Besides, the hour record attempt is a discipline from a different universe, requiring another level of a serious set of focus and skills than just pulling off from the distance in a RR where other specialists are too reluctant for doing "individual persuits" against Evenepoel. Ganna has all the pack from track and road and is IMO unique on his field.
@@AlessioPunzi I think Remco will focus on Grand Tours for his whole career (as he should). And even if he really focused on the hour record, I’m not sure if he can beat this absolute monster time.
Someone might break it soon, but then Pippo will just come roaring back to take it again. (I'd love to see Wout make an attempt.) I LOVE it, as there has rarely been this much attention paid to this record, and the more back and forth 'battles' there are for it, the more status it gains in the cycling world. I am hoping that some of the more TT specialist type Pro Tour riders will even start riding the Worlds Track Individual Pursuit Championships (like Ganna does). Many of the greats from the past did (Coppi, Anquetil, Koblet, Ritter, etc.), even though there was a separate 5 KM distance pro event back then, and up until the 'unification' Worlds of '93.
It's almost superfluous to say, also because people much more experienced than me are convinced of this, but if Ganna focusing the season on this event (the beginning for example) there's a good chance he'll break through the wall of 57 Km/h (someone was unbalanced by saying that's basically certain given its "engine"). Let's not forget that it comes from a backbreaking season (it's not even over, he's doing the World Championships now). I hope you understand despite my basic English. 🍺
Well he did time a peak correctly, I would guess, seeing as how he got this hour record and now just broke the 4 KM pursuit WORLD RECORD at the Track Worlds, AT SEA LEVEL!!!
Amazing achievement. Maybe 70km possible, at reasonable altitude, where loss in oxygen could perhaps be offset more by better cda? Then again he just broke IP world record at sea level.....but better cda over an hour with his size could be the key to 70km. But then with Ganna, anything seems possible....
He was less than a lap away to break 57 km/h. I am sure if he had known how close he came to that, he would have stepped up a little bit and achieved that.
Now he broke the world record in the 4km individual pursuit, becoming the first man to break 4 minutes at sea level.
