Possibly my favorite episode of the series, or at least one of them. "And that's why you don't teach lessons to your son." 🤣 Just hearing Buster say "My old lady's on the floor!" or "My woman needs weed!" is priceless. Loving these reactions!
This is one of my favorite episodes-has complex interwoven stories, has more humor and wit (both subtle and outright) than many episodes. The “Big Yellow Joint” parts are hilarious and very reminiscent of the 60’s and 70’s. The lines from Buster worrying about his “old lady” are like lines from other movies about junkies trying to score what they need for their significant other. The quick musical cues are great- when Gangy tells Maeby about her freckles, there are some super fast musical notes which indicate the shock & disappointment Maeby has, realizing the mean comments her grandma can make. The lines that George says are - first day of Yontif - Yontif is not a specific day, it simply means a holiday in Yiddish, and people say Gut Yontif meaning have a good holiday. So George is making up stuff. Then he says it is Yom Kippur which is a very solemn day but not anytime near the day where this was set, so again he is making up stuff and his last lines are about preparing for the Sabbath which is done on Friday night, for Saturday, and Michael says it is a Tuesday.
When it comes to this show, you'll see even you think there's no reason for some parts, it's actually setting up necessary components in an upcoming episode
That's why... You always leave a note 📝
This episode is so good. And, as always, very much enjoy your reactions.
