I have only been to London once, in 1997, when I was a student of English literature but somehow your video felt very nostalgic to me , at some point I teared up. Beautiful video!
Honestly I didn't want this piece of art to end. Another amazing vlog , waterstone's idea is truly brilliant to collect all of the winning books in just one place. While you are roaming the streets of London I noticed a street called Dirty st. :>) and also I haven't seen before the poets who are offering their services to write poems. I do really feel nostaglic and I wish to visit London soon.
First of all, thank you for the video. Many of us cannot physically make it to these marvellous places. But through you, we get to experience that. Happy to inform you that I have read a total of 23 Booker Winners (excluding the International Booker). 😊
Beautiful shots of London. I think I've read very few actual Booker winners but a good few that have been shortlisted. Interesting how the books bring back memories of the times.
Thank you, this was lovely. London is my favorite city in the world and you are so blessed to be there. I just found your channel and really enjoy it. Your love for books oozes out of you.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us, Eric…what a beautifully put together exhibit! It’s so nice that these books and authors have renewed exposure for incremental purchases, purely from this new display and grouping. I kept pausing the video so I could zoom in and look more closely at the books and the descriptions of the them and their nominated years. I am so inspired by this, and will be looking up many of these books for future purchases.📚❤️
Yet another delightful video from the legend that is Eric Karl Anderson. Your videos bring such joy during these dark, war-torn days. I always have a big grin on my face while viewing them. 😊😊😊😊
Loved this vlog. You’re so lucky to have such a big lovely bookstore close by. Also loved the sights of London. It’s been many, many years since I’ve been there
Glorious video Eric, top notch editing! I'm also a big fan of My Friends. Great idea to get that first winner - sounds interesting. I'm looking at Hotel du Lac right in front of me - it sits with a bookmark in just past halfway so I'm not sure what happened there. How wonderful of Waterstones to do this, it would have been just magic wandering through. Thank you so much!
I've read all 60 winners plus all the international winners plus over 100 shortlisted or longlisted books. If you want to complete reading all the winners, I'd recommend you start with the winners post-2000, then the 90s, 80s, and so forth.
Thank you for taking us on these journeys with you! I'm loving your videos even more lately, you are a talented filmmaker on top of a great book critic :). Also, it was lovely to meet you and Bob in person at Ali Smith's book presentation, apologies for my awkwardness, I was a bit starstruck! 🙈
I concur with others, a beautiful video of London during the holidays. I've been several times and have been anxious to return. So the "Booker Library" isn't permanent? It should be! I've read several Booker Prizes, but not nearly enough. Thanks for the "Thanksgiving" gift 😊
I love this vlog style video! I’m from Canada and I’ve only been to London once! Such a pretty city! Thank you for sharing with us what it’s like at Christmas time in London! I love watching it! Also I would love to visit the Booker Library. Very cool! You did a video about books that either won or shortlisted for the Booker that are also page turners. You recommended Muriel Spark’s The Driver’s Seat among others but that’s the book I was most intrigued with. Thankfully my local library has it so I borrowed a copy. And I love the book so much!! It’s so good. It’s a short novel but it’s compact and so well written. Thank you for the recommendation. I’m reading more books by Muriel Spark as I think she’s a a great writer. Currently reading Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. Thank you!
I enjoyed your vlog .I have read all of the winners and many of the shortlisted books , borrowed from my local library or from secondhand bookshops. I have gaps though and would love to visit this display in London !
How fantastic! I hadn't heard of this display, thanks so much for sharing it with us. One of my regrets about London is that I never made it to the Borough Market.
Ooh, this got me all excited to see London again in just a very short while. I’m happy I’ll be able to see the Booker pop-up shop, even though I’m not a huge Booker fan, it’ll be fun to see the history and have all those books in one place. Thanks for this very exciting video! I’ll be there soon!
Beautiful video, makes me homesick. I've only read 9 Booker winners. I wanted to read all the shortlisted books before the winner was announced but only read Creation Lake (wonderful book) & Orbital (which I'll need to read again as its brilliance is apparently lost on me). I love The Booker as it gets me reading books outside of my usual preferred genre of SF.
I was in London in July/August this year and had such a good time wandering about.. went to that Waterstones but only bought one book. 😢Luggage restrictions! I have read many many of the winners and shortlisted over the years but have fallen behind recently. I do own them or have access to them. Haven’t read last year’s yet and currently reading Orbital. Often I choose from the short and long list but don’t also get to the winner!😅thanks Eric that was brilliant.
I have only read 21. Possession by A.S. Battle and Hilary Mantel Wolf Hall are my favourites. The Paul Scott Staying On I think is part of the Raj Quartet and all of them were excellent
"Added up how many I've won." Skips off the tongue so easily, doesn't it? :) I've bought quite a few and started a handful; must prioritize finishing them. Enjoyed the sights along the way. Thanks for showing us.
Hello Eric🙋♀️ Thank you for another beautiful video 📹 about your trip to London. You visited some of my favourite locations... There are only 2 Booker Prize Winners I have read: “Moon Tiger” by Penelope Lively, and “Hotel Du Lac” by Anita Brookner. Both novels 📖📖 were enjoyable to read. I love reading mystery stories, and the first Booker Prize Winner “Something to Answer For” P H Newby, sounds like the kind of novel I would like to read. Let us know your thoughts on the story...HAPPY READING 📚
@ Yes... “Hotel Du Lac” by Anita Brookner is a wonderful read. I am sure you will enjoy “Moon Tiger” by Penelope Livelyas well...📖 Thank you for your reply.
This is a wonderful video! I'll only be back in the UK again after the exhibit closes, which makes me quite sad. But, best wishes from sunny Cape Town, South Africa nonetheless, Eric! :)
@@EricKarlAnderson the store have a very old and rather small platform lift at the entrance that doesn't work for most chairs. Thank you! I agree, there should be a permanent Booker Library display and shop somewhere.

I am embarrassed to say I had never heard of the booker prize before finding your podcast.
I have read only a few, but plan to read many more.
