Great news for me. I have a 996 manual Turbo S with 28k miles on it. Original sticker price was about 150k in 2005 dollars. About 200k in today’s dollars. So 80-90k is still not bad really. Poor mans 959. Thanks for the great video.
Do you think the DME report has a drastic impact on 996 turbo values? On tuned cars it seems relatively meaningless, but curious on your take. I’m looking an an X50 car
@@hatemsgarage Be careful. I looked at one Turbo S that had massive overrevs. It was due to a tune that raised the factory redline. So, it had thousands of factory redline over revs. I passed on that one. I ended up calling and learning about a lot of tunes. Many tunes do this. I'm not a fan of it. I put a cobb tune on mine. Cheers and good luck.
I have just sold my 996 carrera and bought a turbo, in the uk through the pandemic turbo prices came down whilst carreras went up. I think people are catching on to how good they are. These people are not the “alleged” porsche purist who looked on the 996 with disdain due to the headlamps and watercooling, but people who have only ever known watercooled porsches. The 996 and 997 are in a unique niche of having little driver aids and being very usable and affordable. This is driving values up. I bought my 996 in 2018 for £16, spent around £4k on it, it was “immaculate” in every way. Sold for £23500. The right spec cars that have had ims/rms done that have been looked after by a enthusiast are very hard to find causing prices to rise. The turbo is the opposite, must people had as weekend toys, having £50k in a car, when you business needs a cash injection due to covid meant a lot came on the market. I paid a very good price(around £40k) for a manual well specced car. It would have been over 50 last year, and i would not have been able to afford it.hope that helps
"Porsche Synthetic fuel" being trialled next year, with Siemens. Which will be Greener than EVs regarding the carbon footprint...When this starts to roll out watch all Porsche prices rocket. I bought a Porsche 996 Turbo with 38000 miles on the clock and was offered £58k sterling uk. I paid 42k and no, I'm not selling. It's a Tiptronic because I like the urban cruise or just to just slam it down. Great informative vids tks.
A video about the 996.1 in more detail could be interesting as on BaT two have sold for over $50K in the past two weeks. Another good one would be the C5 Corvette.
Is the original Land Rover defender a car you could analyse? It would be interesting to see how the new defender has affected values. It appears that uk values have firmed up. Great videos btw
Thanks again for this perfect analysation of the 996 market! I doubting between this 996 Turbo and the 991 Targa (not turbo but S or 4S). What are your thoughts? Keep up the GOOD work!
This is all great but all your info comes from the internet. There is very big market outside that you will never hear about , and trust me there is tons of them for good prices .

Do you predict the 996turbo prices continuing to rise? Excellent work. You are a genius
Can you revisit the 987 market? I'd be interested to see how the new shortage has affected the .1/.2 and the S/non-S
Really appreciate your analysis, wondering if you can give me some idea of what happened with the 40th anniversary 2004/911 Values
