I think you may have missed the entire point of this book. The point of the book is that disruptive technologies are almost always less profitable in the beginning, and so larger companies do not invest in them. This gives the innovator the ability to develop a real depth of understanding of the new technology, and then when it matures, leapfrog the existing companies, who cannot develop this depth of understanding as quickly as needed to compete properly.
As a result, the innovative company eventually eclipses the old company and takes their market when the technology matures.

Jobs forced engineers to shrink the iPhone to unstable dimensions. Look at your current iPhone. It's 2-3 times the size of the first iPhone. Jobs is a marketer, that is all.

Just to be clear, the new phones have 3 cameras and a ton of other features that may or may not be useless. With how humans function today, the smaller phone is still better, we just want to use things that are on computers, not on phones.
