alexdiezg yeah, me too. I've actually aced many times using it, the problem is that it has a completely different playstyle than other common weapons, however if you manage to learn how to jump-push a corner (which isn't actually that hard) then it's a really cost-effective weapon

Who came here from "How 2 use the worst gun in CS2" about MP5-SD, where iNoToRiOuS changed the final opinion on MP9 by saying "Just buy an MP9, man" at the end.
Edit: iNoToRiOuS in 2024 now thinks that MP9 is actually powerful rather than underpowered, as he thought back in 2016.

This is one of those rare guns that look terrible on paper but absolutely amazing in action and not vice versa.
The mp7 and mp9 are actually pretty viable weapons. They do a decent amout of damage, are low cost, and have a fast fire rate. Not to mention the good armor penetration. Also, (even being smg's) you dont always have to go for headshots. Even at full health, you can often kill a T with a bodyshot. (Ok, now thats off my chest)

I use it like i would use a rifle, and it's actually really good. The recoil for the first 9 bullets is managable, and the first bullet is really accurate. Accurate enough to get headshots from long a to a site on dust 2

Lemonadical that's why I ranked UMP higher. MP7 has better recoil control and a pretty good running accuracy in comparison to the other ones.
Siril It's pretty shit at anything further than medium-close range, but I was still able to counter snipe two scout rifle users with it before kek

crazy how the economy change buffed this gun so hard somehow.
It's actually really good IMO. Much better than UMP in my opinion. Very nice high fire rate, its super OP if you master the spray patterns and you know how to use it correctly. It's become one of my favorite guns in this game.
It's interesting when one looks at the mindset of Inotorious and nomicro4u. Inotorious has a negative view on the weapons, but nomicro4u as a positive mindset. And their solutions differ wildly. One suggests using the gun in a certain way, the other suggests using the gun during a certain time. Question is, which is more helpful?

UMP is good when you're a rifle player, MP9 when you're someone who can change their playstyle drastically so the enemies can't predict what you're going to play.
DerPixelPanda ump is so good if you are using it as a rifle, and it is a lot cheaper than rifles, for me it is best choice against force buys and against eco. And you can play with it on the gunround too

With the Tec-9, P250 and Five-Seven nerfed into the ground the MP9 and Mac-10 are pretty damn useful now on eco rounds, plus if you're T side the Mac-10 is pretty damn useful for rushing B on dust 2 and rushing blue door on Cache. When you're on CT side the mp9 is pretty useful for anti-eco rounds and flanking through mid.

One actual advantage of the MP9 is it’s bursting potential, because of its moderate damage and good accuracy makes up for its shitty armor pen when bursting at a distance
