You gotta realize, a direct price exchange doesn't really do it justice when you're talking about countries with much lower earnings per hour. Also to be fair 40$ for a haircut is a lot in the first place.

The barber price discriminated, applaud him for being able to do that (and for Karl to allow it). He does use the word “mehnat” at the end, he has his justification. One may not agree with it but this is not a fraud.

We don’t hesitate to pay the price, whatever it is, for the same service at big salons and spas but make it a big deal if it’s a smaller business. We always moan despite his good the quality of their work is.

In Lahore average cost of regular barber with head massage is roughly 600 rupees. People do extra 100 based on quality of head massage and oil preference. Beard trimming or shave is roughly another 150 rupees. I am surprised that Abottabad is so reasonable.

I’m going to cosmetology school and he did a really good job. With only using one pair of old school scissors. Those other scissors he uses are thinning sheers. And water helps when thinning out the hair. Which is just adding some layers and body to the hair
