- The second part of our Frizebad Barbershop experience including a head massage and hair styling! Frizebad barbershop is situated just around the corner from Pasajul Victoria and the Old Town of Bucharest. The barbershop relocated to this current address after the Bucharest earthquake of 1977.
The interior is a perfect time warp reflecting the Romanian tastes from when it was last renovated in 1981. Surprisingly, original 1930’s barber chairs from Chicago remain. I guess even the might of communist dictators stop when it comes to barber chairs!

Hello guys. The barber's name is Ionut Emilian. He recently opened his own Barbershop named: Classic Haircut Barbershop. The address is Street Vitan Barzesti 7A Complex Vitantis (big building called "Vitantis" - 1st floor). The best choice if you visit Bucharest, very nice and professional. Amazing experience!
He should open his business in Germany or the US

Reminds me of the shops of the 60s here in the US.
I'm 62 and remember getting a scalp massage as a youngster.
My Dad would take my Brother and I for cuts.
Seemed like about two times a month.
Would take about two hours for all three of us.
I didn't like the length of time. But loved getting a grape sucker at the end.
I think it was about $1 per person and we gave a quarter tip.
Your videos make me recall the sounds and smells of the shops back then.
Kind of miss that time.

At my barber shop I always give a scalp manipulation or sometimes I use that hand vibrator on the shoulders over the cape and on the head. i swear some guys think I'm trying something funny with them and they get homophobic! I tell them barbers use to do that back in the day. So next time some of them come in asking for it, or if I forgot to do it they are like hey aren't you gonna do that thing again with that machine!
Barber was neat and well groomed. His shirt was clean and pressed ! Very professional. Don’t see that nowadays. Excellent !

His name is Ionut, in English is translated “Johnny”. He is not working anymore there, he is working in “Big Boys Barbershop”, also in Bucharest bit in the North Area.
He is an old school barber.

I am Romanian myself, albeit not from Bucharest. This barbershop feels like a time travel in the past. This is how they used to look when I was a kid, you rarely see barbershops that look like this anymore. Although with old appearances, it looks well maintained and clean.

These men and women are craftsman and artisans. Harry, never mind the ASMR aspect, you highlight a fading skill that brings us back to the past. When people had skill and we celebrated and respected them for it. Only certain places and people still hold these values. And that is why I enjoy these videos and others like it.

Two great videos, Harry! That is an amazing shop. I hope your barber will be able to continue the traditions and pass them onto the next generations of barbers. He was so organized in his work area and his routine. I know you let the barbers cut your hair the way they want. It was refreshing to see the barber do so and not just replicate what your former style was. Most barbers shy away from answers like “I’ll leave it up to you” or “Do whatever you want”. Amazing Harry, you stumbled across one of the old style barbershops in Bucharest. Unfortunately there are not so many left. We've been overrun by western style barbershops recently and these old businesses are fading away. The decor is the same as during the communist regime era. Reminded me how it was to get my hair cut back in the 90s. Thanks, awesome find.

5:58 is truly weird. This also reminds me of watching my Dad get haircuts in the sixties. Old school tunics, a long head massage with the Oster, and then some hair tonic/pomade. It was pretty relaxing to watch.
