To people shouting RICE... Japanese don't have that sort of ego stroking mentality.
They respect each others passions regardless of if they like/agree or not. To each their own.
chopsticks you can blame America and Europe for having too many purist over there. I for one love car cultures in general and this is one of them.
It's still RICE...whatever way you dice and slice it.
Kevin Masters you’re a straight Loser man. “iTs sTill rIcE wHaTeVeR wAy YoU sliCe aNd dICe iT” bro you’ve probably never left ur own country broke boiii
They call it rice, ill call american cars fats 😂😂
@@DungarooTV dude u just everywhere in other peoples comment and fill with your typical american ego and ignorant replies...u make yourself like a clown that shouting to everyone your opinion that no one actually care...
I LOVE Japanese car culture. The work they put into their car is massive and the outcome is so original. You can say whatever you want but they don't care what other people think about it, they just want to HAVE FUN, wich is really what it's all about. I would love to go to Japan.... some day....
Greetings from Sweden.
The thing I like about japan is that there’s no hate about what you drive it’s just expressing yourself and there’s a community for whatever cars you like
I don't really care how these guys modified their cars. They put their heart and soul into it. My respect goes for them. So screw them cyber bullies calling these guys ricers.
Right on!
utopia2030 I agree . Plus where are their cars . Everyone has to be the same how boring is that.
utopia2030 cant be rice if your car is fast
One thing you can always always see in Japan is the respect. No matter how crazy and wild one is from the another, the amount of respect they show each other is pretty incredible. Totally different story in the US lol Just saying. The individuality they have with their vehicles and how damn clean they are >_
It's still RICE...whatever way you dice and slice it.
Nice documentary about Japan tuning culture!
You might like this video as well 👊

Yeee!!
Very nice video
Red Bull yo thats dope ! More vids like these would be nice
Rice culture
Western car culture: If I don't like it then its rice
Japanese car culture: I don't care, man, do what you want.
Hence why I prefer Japan over the west when it comes to car culture.
This attitude extends far beyond car culture in japan aswell which is why i love Japan
It's still RICE...whatever way you dice and slice it.
It's still tacky af, they can do whatever they like though.
Exactly. I just don't get it.
How can he talk for 30 seconds but only say one sentence?
OÄKTA DOPBOK lol I was thinking the same thing, conversations must take forever in Japan
So much of the conversation is removed and only the context of what was said is being translated.
OÄKTA DOPBOK I'm japanese ,but It's wrong translate.
the subtitles are just highlights
modern journalism
Is this new to everyone here? Japan has been doing this for decades! I went to one of these car gathering in Tokyo 12 years ago and it was just as insane back then.
Ken W yeah, I live in Tokyo now but I'd give anything to have been here for the "golden age" of the 90s and early 2000s.
Japan is an amazing place full of so many different styles!! Awesome short documentary loved the video
You are 100% correct!
I like their sushi but those girls need to shave!
It's a place where you can be you uniquely, that's what I like about Japan
The Japanese are so dope. Like they’re in the future already.
Beraiah Yisrael yep they make something play with it a yr or 2 then pass it on to the world.
but they're lifestyle is a bit behind tho
@@y....01 their lifestyle is a bit behind? seriously? just compare your US or what ever country`s 7-11 and others with japan...you will realize how far behind your country are =)
You know after Pearl Harbor Japanese been building trying to have peace with other countries ever since and they've been getting some technology from other countries and then the 80s or 90s late 70s they start being or getting ahead than other countries so actually Japan is the future do you like decades ahead than any other country in definitely head than us Americans
he is Korean ,so he simply hate japan lol
"Driving an unmodified Lamborghini is boring" I'm excited when my car goes over 90.
I don't care what anyone says, Japan car culture is fking AWESONE!!!!
“Watashi wa kuruma ga sukidesu kuruma wa... kūrudesu unten wa tanoshīdesu.”
Translation: “I like cars.”
Stick to english and you'll have pletny of time left for doing other things then just talking :D it seems like when you talk with someone for about 30 minutes you can do the same in 15 when using english
@@_J.P._ The translations are summaries of their sentences. English actually requires more words than most Asian languages because of the lack of certain phonetics.
Why dont we have a car game based off this...
Soon, maybe. 🤞
forza horizon 4 ...maybe
George Bale or even a new midnight club
developers dont understand us
Closest thing we have is the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series
Japan's car and motorbike culture is certainly something unique, im a big fan of what they do
The Japanese have always been ahead of the curve with automotive tastes. But look at the last few decades, it's been about reinventing that curve, tearing it up and redesigning it how they want. Does it look like anything we have out on the road in our Western fantasies? Not at all. That's why these guys get max respect and full cred for their builds, and next to no hostility or bullshit from others with different tastes. We Westerners could learn a thing or two from them.
Damn,Reason Why i love JAPAN So much
Tokyo Drift Is Real!
Yes it is 🔥
Scale Kronik there wasn't a single drift in their video tho...
CAN Control cuz the video is about "custom supercar culture". It's Mike Whiddett in Japan though! One of the most famous professional drifters, talking about car culture in the country that invented drift. We are fiends, Our traction-less minds are still dreaming of drift culture in Japan.
search for japans drift culture if interested.
the internet might just do its job
Haha!
I NEED 2 HOURS MORE OF THIS PLEASE
Check out this video if you want more: ruclips.net/video/3GGhuM0N4v0/видео.html
I've never seen this much style in 12 minutes of footage! Well done everyone!
Accusations of rice here is exactly why I hate the western car "culture". Western car scene is dominated by purists with delusions that you must build(or not build) your car in certain style to earn respect. They react with disrespect or even outright hostility towards those with different tastes. Any tuners that's not a sleeper is a despicable "ricer" to these people, it's childish and discourage creativity. Which is why I much prefer and love the car scene here in Japan, although we may share different tastes we still respect those who put their time and love into their build even if we hate it. After all we love cars even if it is for different reasons, we don't feel the need to invent asinine words to put down those we find distasteful. If you were to come to Daikoku PA you will find everything from European supercars to American muscles, JDM, classics, tuners and even actual ricers with gaudy mods and fart can exhaust, we don't fight over which one is the best and all have a good time checking out each others builds.
This is not to say we're perfect and don't discriminate but it rarely happens compared to the west and certainly isn't the norm. There wouldn't be Liberty Walk or Rocket Bunny if we shared a western mentality regarding cars. This is why we get some of the most outrageous and interesting builds while those in the west are enjoying their generic lambo number 1286.
end to end agree with you ,they enjoy the risks taken by one that if were in the west did ...would be labeled a" ricer". think about it the first rocket bunny 86 was stock ,rims and mufflers .
the west is filled with brand whores who view mixing parts as taboo. it's getting better, but swapping an ls into a ford is still frowned upon.
Moist Nugget
There is definitely a big lack of respect, but it's not just the US that's guilty of this.
Exactly something a R I C E R would say
Ian Fernandez Well done, you missed the whole point of my comment.
As crazy as it may seem... it sure looks fun! Never a dull moment 👽
2 Things I miss most about my time stationed in Japan:
1. Japanese women
2. Car Culture; particularly the underground aspects of it: Roulettezoku, Tougezoku, zero-yon, dori, et cetera. I wish there was an Upgarage here in the US. I still have some parts and shopping bags from times when I was living there.
The other things are simple like the arcades and conbini food like onigiri. I also enjoyed hanging out at bookstores and reading manga.
Absolutely amazing presentation. The cinematography, the editing and the background music have come together very well. It feels as sophisticated as it looks.
Damn I wanna live in Japan
Japan 🇯🇵 ,
I love you my home country🙌🙌🙌
Shibatan Tokyo Japan’s dope!! Love from cali!
Shibatan Tokyo my girlfriend was from Japan.
Im indian and life as indian is so hard i love cars everyone hates cars in india being indian is so hard our culture is bad compare to Japanese culture japan has peace of mind and nature and india has hate and lack of manner's k.s tokyo
love from Jakarta yo
now this is a reason to visit Japan
The thing i love about Japanese car culture is that they put their everything into a car and make i their own. In north america people seem to constantly jump projects and try to amass full garages of cars. I think this can kinda be seen in GTA where you collect everything and fill as many garages as possible, whereas in Japan they find the one car for them and then take it to the limit of their style. I think this dedication to one thing is what allows them to truly perfect their own style.
One a side note, it's a little sad to only see these older guys. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome to see these guys pursuing their passions but it's a shame that there doesn't seem to be many younger Japanese wanting to keep this culture alive or even bring their own take on it.
マジでかっこいい!本当に大好き! One time I was in Japan I stumbled upon a custom car meet up by a lake near Mr Fuji. Saw some intensely awesome cars just like these :) The massive exhausts sticking up at the back, so badass. That will live with me forever!
Damn that scene is rad. Definitely hunting that down in Japan soon
You're welcome ;)
Nothing but love for the JDM!!! Awesome style!!
Japan and their people are so nice. Polite and kind always.
Awesome😍😍😍
This is basically Car Culture as of 2017
>Tuners in Japan just love whatever culture there is at cars and just enjoys their builds,no matter how crazy it is,from upgrading JDM Cars to restoring/improving classics and keeps the aesthetics in them. Even if it's a rich guy with a LB Lambo , a Aesthetic Drift car or even a ricer. They don't care and they would even get along, being humble to everyone which makes the JDM Culture really great. They don't go with the usual car trends, they just do what they want to do with their cars.
Meanwhile though in the Western Culture,it's different, instead of pleasure it's more about competition every day. Like if they see a JDM car or a car with stickers and neon lights they would instantly say "RICERS!" (Like majority of the comments in this video). to them, they just want to get as many attentions as possible.Debating, arguing and making fun of other peoples cars. Also they REALLY love trends, like putting their Quick,Reliable yet Heavy Engines on ANY car(Examples:LS on a RX-7,LS in a ford, etc.) ,Slamming it on tarmacs and takes it on the Drag strip since they care more about power rather than overall capabilities of the car.
Anyways i made this comment not because i want to defend JDM culture or anything, but hoping(at least) for anyone to get along,What's the point of competition when everyone else hates you. Just read the Liberty walk's Tagline in all of their kits "Imagine a world where everyone lived in Peace."
Ruuto Yamato #PREACH
@Tim Dev its not generalizing, that is just the truth, thats pretty much what happens on western countries, overall USA where u have at least 4 or 5 out of 10 ppl sayin whateva is japanese is rice
I love japan....they literally drive arcade rooms around town. I could never hate on that culture. ❤❤❤
I want to visit Japan, just to experience the car culture ! Love it
I'm Mexican and I'm surprised lowriders made their way to JP, makes me proud 🙌👏

this is so cool!!! loved it
Respect for the humble man with his loving passion for cars
If japan's a car crazy country,I would like to go there!!
I thought the music that was playing during the Lowriders scene was pretty dope so I found it. Here it is for those who like me liked it :)
Darnel Alexander - I'm so into you
Have a good day.
i always loved those small cc trucks..this got me inspired to finally make one happen
I miss Japan so much. Amazing culture.
Looks like a regular GTA lobby lmfao, jk doe love their authentic style.
If only, I wish car customisation was that in-depth. I'd kill for a new Midnight Club
Nah, I didn't see any dollar rims with whitewalls..
RWB should have been in here as well. Amazing car culture though.
Karl Van Ginderdeuren THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT... i was like "where's RWB?"
RWB is not a style, is a company, just like Liberty Walk. There's no sense to include them in this doc
This helped me understand the culture. At first, I would have dismissed them as ricers but this helped me look on the inside and gain respect for them, now I understand it is not rice but a culture and lifestyle, and a passion. Thanks for this
i love the mazda cosmo mike was driving!
love this video!
If you love something just go get it
“Don’t let dreams be dreams”
It’s sad when someone
who gave you the
best Memories
Becomes a memory!
So much small minded people here :) Its almost sad. Dont like most of the cars in this vid but i love the culture and that they just make something they like even if its way over the top.
I grew up in Japan by way of the military. Nihon is Japan's name. Mainland actually. The hype is real. It's not an exaggeration. And the game "Midnite Club" is real too. They were a Bosozoku gang in the 80'a and 90's. And it lives on
Just love how retro some looks.
This video inspired me to want to change my rare factory legend lime color on my mustang to legend lime to Miami blue even tho I’ll get hate it’s my style and my way
Wrap it so you can keep the original lime color safe underneath the wrap!
Some people say rice, I say art!
Some things work, some things don't. Each to their own
I can't wait to get back to Japan
Thumbs up for Japan !
I love cars !
People here on RUclips is getting jealous from Japan😂
Divyang Zaveri no us people from dubai are not jealous

I'm going to Japan one day soon, awesome variety in culture.
Here before 1M views
0:20 and 10:43 that mk3 supra though...
Goals 💯
Red Bull just decided to save up money for supra:)
I really like that and the early 70s gtr, that tunnel run sounded nice
Will Herb yeah, the sound of old cars is very specific, sounds really raw, just amazing
The wheels are so tiny
2:27
Tuner heaven, once again brought to you by Kato sans unique style.
That was super cool! Great video!
Red bull could you please make your car content at least 40 mins or more? 😊

Ben Turret
Great video! Fun to watch and story is interesting too!
Awesome Feature!
If the battery on a Dekotora can't jump you off, your battery is dead.
And then think about the alternator.
When they crash, christmas ornaments will go everywhere
Glad to see Mad Mike is still into cars after all these years, loved him in Pimp My Ride back in the day
Man you guys at red bull are awesome, always having fun no matter what.👍
I follow those lowrider guys in Instagram they are pretty cool. The chick speaks Spanish
Oni Mori ig ?
link?
For nearly a Dickade lol
Its aluminium not aluminum yank.
Japan like no others... always step another level on what they do
Hahaha, very nice. To these guys "over the top" is just a starting point. A beautiful but hellish expensive adventure. Never saw anything like this before. Thanks for posting!
Originality reigns supreme! Anyone that dislikes this, is a generic fool.
I w a n t one 😍
This video is sooo freakin cool like wow those cars are amazing
This is what all car culture was founded on being you doing what you want to do and taking risk watching this makes me want to thrive for some insane car creation that reflects me as a person and we should all do this
At times like these I hate living in Europe ...
Here come the racist trolls claiming any Japanese car with cosmetic modifications at all is a "ricer."
thank you, that is great! Can't wait to attend in Daikoku next year!
love the shots! great b-rolls
翻訳適当かよw
Autobots, roll out
凄く感動しました!これからもこういうVお願いします!
Awesome video. This should be a series!
We hear you Fredrik - stay close for more cool stuff!
RICE stands for Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement
I don't think LED is RACE INSPIRED so if you'r calling these people RICER then you don't even know what you are talking about stop been ignorant.
I bet the majority of you calling then out drive a 90s civic with plastidiped wheels and cant even afford that aftermarket wheel you wanted for months.....just stop been keyboard heroes -.-If you like cars than just appreciate what other peoples do with it not every one should have same taste as you do....
Exactly. If you don't like it,its rice. That's how these people think.
show the bikes :(
japan is always on top in every things 😎
YEAH !!! That's really inspiring
Looking to have a seizure when driving, come to Japan
natural selection
google "pokemon shock" :-D
We need a Japanese style GTA game just like this... cmon man, rockstar games, please listen
Not the GTA 6 again,plz
Love it, great doc
Thank you for sharing this. I never knew these awesome details (no pun intended) about Japan. We can be such amazing people, why are we still focused on things that hurt each other?
