After I started driving Range Rover Sports - I'm on my 3rd one - I don't think I can ever own a sedan again. You're 100 correct. It's the best of both worlds. I own a 510 HP Supercharged now, but in hoping to move up to an SVR in 2021. No BMW can compare to a V8 Sport. I own a BMW also. It's a backup vehicle. It rarely leaves my garage. The Rover is just too much fun to drive to ignore.
Kerun Bindra I’ve only had one issue with the svr electronics and it was when I first picked it up (November of 2019). The main cabin screen would not slide to its default “off position” and would occasionally glitch and freeze (I would need to have the vehicle off for a moment and then restart it). However, my dealer fixed this issue in the very first week. Aside from that minor hiccup which did not cost me anything, I’ve added 18k miles to date (7/28/2020) without any issues. I cannot comment on Android Auto as I have an iPhone, but I must say, Apple CarPlay works flawlessly (it does fill the screen and is very high resolution). My only complaint is that it can be a tad laggy at times. This is actually my second JLR product that I’ve ever owned (my first being a 2016 F-Type R which did experience several electrical faults, so much so that I ended up switching over to a 2018 Mercedes E63. Apologies for the long comment, I hope this answers your question!

Although it doesn’t have the umph as some of its rivals, I think it’s ride, mixed with the engine make this truck certainly the one to look at (if we’re staying under Urus/G-Wagen/Bentayga money; especially since, as you stated, you’ll be able to scoop one of these up for $50-65in the next 5ish years . I picked up my SVR up in November of 2019 and I’ve added 18k miles since. (only one little electrical niggle which was fixed in the first week under warranty) I absolutely love it!! My job requires me to drive around the state (up until Covid struck so now I’m just aimlessly driving for pleasure at this point) and the SVR has been an absolute joy. I came from a 2018 E63S and I found the car to be too firm on these Oklahoma roads so I thought I’d try my hand with a Range Rover. This is the second SUV that I’ve owned, the first being a 2016 BMW X5M, and the smiles per gallon this thing gives me, more than well makes up for the horrid mpg (I have a hot foot so I average somewhere between 10-12mpg; on longer drives where I tend to behave myself I can get 17+mpg). I’ve done a resonator delete which further increases the want to make some noise and the truck is wake the dead loud!!!(when the valve is open). It’s always comical seeing the reactions of people watching this loud (both audibly and visually) blue range rolling through. Stay safe!

I'm on my 3rd Rover Sport. I've Owned A 2010, A 2014, V6 supercharged Rover Sport, and now a V8 Supercharged Rover Sport with the 510 HP engine with the Dynamic Package. I absolutely love it. If I can ever afford an SVR I won't hesitate to buy it. I just drove mine from Louisiana to Orlando (948 miles). It was very comfortable and enjoyable to drive. And I'm not at all bothered by the 16mpg it got. I pay it gladly to enjoy the ride. Great review.
@@lozzom It will be different enough for my personal taste. I can't get the SVR interior in an SC Rover. My SC has 510HP while the SVR is 575HP. I could tune my SC to match, but I don't really want to tune my Rover. I was fortunate that my Rover already had the an SVR style body kit installed by the previous owner. My second Rover had the regular SC body, which I don't prefer to the SVR look. And since I'm looking for a used 2015 to 2018 SVR, I won't be spending a ton of money.
@@carycoller3140 literally today just replaced mine with a 2018 SC, decided against the SVR in the end as the price difference was significant for a car of the same age etc and I have been told the SVR seats aren’t as comfortable. That’s important as we plan on going on a long road trip next year. Hopefully the right decision!
i have a RR sport supercharged 2015 model with 170,000kms no issues other than a thermostat valve problem (fixed). I get better gas mileage in RR V8 than my Toyota V8. People say its unreliable well if you drive well like you did in this video then no issues . That sound makes you want to floor it all the time ,its very addictive. I live in a desert so its mostly driven on sand and sand dunes.
Great review of the SVR! I have just bought a 2015 SVR and have to say ….Wow! I traded my 2017 Ford Raptor for it which was a hard decision but as you said…..the sound snd the power!!!! I will add one more comment….fuel consumption,I’m in Canada do we use litres per 100 KMs and not MPG! I was shocked that my computer was telling me I was getting between 9.6-10.4 litres per 100 KMs! That is totally amazing…..my Raptor was around 17 litres per 100kms so this beast is not that off the carts on fuel consumption…..quite the opposite!

I used to think the SVR SUV was a good idea. But really it's counterintuitive....in that the reason we buy a SV is for utility reasons. To be able to transport large items that wouldn't fit in the trunk of a sedan or hatchback. And maybe do light off-roading. Which you won't do with a SVR SUV sporting low-profile tires. Nor is it really a sports car with it's high centre of gravity. Better to buy a RR Sport HSE or Autobiography SUV and the F-Type R if you can. The right vehicle for the task.
Don’t disagree with you, or you could just buy a nice used one for 40% off and drive one of the top spec SUV’s in the world. If you want to go off-road, change your tires and wheels and you’re good to go.

Kerun Bindra M5 as is the 4 door sedan? I mean I had an M6 Gran Coupe and I would get that again over an M5. But this is an SUV and has more room, sit up high and just not that comparable to an M5. If I could choose, I would do this over an M5.
Interior wise the RR wins, but I’m still taking the P100D all day. No premium fuel, self driving and a more fun driving experience. This is a great ride, but at $140k it better be.
The hood is carbon fiber, it just isn't exposed on the outside. You can see it underneath when you open it. It saves weight.
