Since I updated to Windows 11 3 days ago, my Chrome keeps freezing randomly for about 20-40 seconds and then unstuck, but also seems to crash randomly while playing videos.
Homeboy can fix my chrome but can't edit out two and a half minute of silently watching the percent complete go up. 😂😂 just busting your chops man. Thank you for putting this up.
The issue is with the windows11 EcoQOS. Chrome is calling a windows 11 API to trim memory or suspend inactive tabs. This is part of Windows 11 goal to save energy. The problem is that this is breaking Chrome somehow. Look in taskmanager for the Chrome process and you will see a number of subprocesses with a green leaf. These tabs have been toggled to EfficiencyMode. And this is the problem. It needs a fix.
Well, it found and repaired some corrupt files, but my problem still exists. Playing a video in Chrome crashes my Windows 11 PC, which then restarts. Couldn't figure out which program file to add in that second step.
This isn't gonna do much. This is an intentional design by M$ to get people to use Edge instead of a third party browser. There's an extra layer of "security" that works fine with Edge but causes problems with other browsers. Shady as hell. Got an extra win 10 key and gonna "downgrade" later this week.

I install OS, but after updating, issue was still there :(
It.s hardware issue. becaus I enable XMP but i didn.t supply more Volt. After I resetted BIOS to defauly setting, the problem was gone.
