This is one of my favorites. Harley Benton tenor guitars sound better to me than a lot more expensive tenor guitars. I have mine tuned DGBE, and it sounds more warm than bright. It comes tuned in a higher pitch CGDA like the sound here on the video. I absolutely love the sound and size, and yes, it does sound amazing. I have 4 of them in my bedroom, living room, work and other home.
Started learning guitar about a year ago and invested in a Harley B CLT a few months back. Replaced the strings with DGBE and the result is AWESOME. Surprisingly easy to play (as a beginner) - the tone/resonance/volume etc. is superb. Well worth getting - always a delight to practice on.
Axel, thanks very much for taking the time to post this. I struggled with the 6 string and have moved to 5 string banjo and baritone Uke. I started to look for a bit more depth/tone and saw your review. It was exactly what I wanted…..and the sound👍👍👍…… 5 days later it has arrived in my hands in Australia (yes, 5 days). I am so impressed I am going to buy a second one to tune with Nylgut strings in DGBE. Once again, thank you 👍
I guess you could. Don’t know what it would sound like though. It’s designed for steel strings so it might not work so well. Also, fingerboards are generally wider on nylon string guitars so the strings might feel a bit close together
Hi Axel…like you, I can’t believe it either! I wasn’t familiar with HB, but after listening to the 2 tunes you recently posted playing this TG I looked them up (I hadn’t seen your review at that point). The instrument sounds really nice…and when I saw the price I was astounded ! I’m tempted to get one to mess around on…what was the set up like when you received it?
I love the Harley Benton tenor guitars so much I have 4 of them in different locations. They sound amazing for the price! I tried many other tenor guitars and this one definitely resonates with me. The only one that sounds better is my 1944 Martin Tenor 5-17T Tenor guitar but the price is different too. I suggest you get one, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks very much Axel, this has been a big help and a really great sounding and looking guitar.

My Harley Benton arrived to day its quality at an affordable price, I have just ordered Irish string for it I cant get over the sound. 🤩👍
It's a great wee instrument!
It would be great to hear some of your mandolin tunes on the tenor guitar. It sounds very atmospheric.🤩👍 keep the tunes coming.
It sounds really nice.
I bought the Ibanez tenor truly incredible for mandolin music.
That is impressive at that price. Looking forward to hearing some tunes out of it.
Very good, informative review and very helpful to me. Thanks pal. 😁
Would you please tell me what tuning you have on this guitar..................Love your music..................thank you.
CGDA
Sounds beautiful! I think I may buy this one. Quick question…is it possible to do all nylon strings on this guitar? (I’m just beginner, just curious)

Anyone know which atrings i should use for gdae or gdad tuning? I heard heavier guages are hetter for lower tunings

Made for thomann 🎅🏻
Its sounds beautiful. ❤ Do you think it's possible to tune it as a tenor ukulele? Thank you!
You might need to change the string gauge but I don't see why not
Gauge phosphor bronce or steel strings GCEA tuning (Low G):
Extra low tension____ .032w .018 .014 .008
Low tension_________ .036w .026w .013 .009
Medium tension_____ .038w .028w .014 .010
Strong tension______ .040w .030w .015 .011
For high G use same gauge for A string
Sweet.
Ps. Please could you tell me the measurement from nut to 12th fret?
Just a hair over 29cm. Maybe 29.1
@@TheCampbell Thanks
Just like a 3/4 guitar.
