My son is 27 months and can count to five, and say over 20 words, imitates sounds, repeats words, follows orders like "come here" "sit down" "stop" "be quiet" "good night"( tells me goodnight back after I say it) understands "go to sleep" "eat your food" "can I have it"(the item he is holding) or "give me" and the list can go on. I am a proud mommy but I want to push him more. Also FOOD helps brain development and functioning!!!! I can't stress that enough luckily my boy adores fruit and he loves books and shoes LOL And praising at this age really helps encouragement for speech and following orders!!! Most of all my boy is very polite and always says "thank you" whenever you hand him something.
if they see you eating healthy, they will copy you. Also, if you let your kids take part in creating healthy meals with you, they are more likely to try them
Speak to and with him like an adult, yet simplify your words. For example, I speak to him like an adult but one with a simple vocabulary; we use many complex words here where a simpler version exists. When he understands those words you might graduate up to more complex versions, but mainly have lots of conversations with him. Turn off the TV, and he will be better able to focus on your talks.
My daughter is 25 months. She talks, but sometimes I can’t tell what she says. She knows all of her ABCs, can count to ten, knows all the animals and sounds, she says basic words like “mama” “daddy” “nap” and “eat”. She literally just started asking for her cup and showing me things this past month. On her birthday, she hardly spoke at all. She’s moving fast now. Some children talk when they’re ready. I was concerned about her, but I think she just didn’t want to talk. Recently, she’s started telling me to “shhh” when I’m talking. Lol. I’ve heard her sing nursery rhymes and such, but she can be shy when she knows I hear her. Sometimes it’s just a personality trait.
My early intervention was useless, she asked us what we want to do after over a month of no progress. Im resuming the service it’s better than nothing and it’s free.
My baby is smart . She’s 21 months , and when I try to teach her she just has not interest, she just wants to play . But she babbles a lot . And says certain words , some words she don’t say it but she knows what it means .
My Son turned 3 years old a few days ago but he is having a speech delay. He started talking when he was 2 years and 3 months old but got seriously sick. After his illness, the speech delay started and I'm worried.
My daughter is 2 years yet cannot say what she wants, only cries when she wants something, but she recite nursery rhymes, read A-Z and 1-10, I'm really worried, thanks for your wonderful video, waiting for response.
Good morning. If you have concerns about your daughter's speech development, we recommend you make an appointment with her primary care provider. Take care.
According to this a 3 year old should be able to communicate with grammatical errors but still be able to answer questions. When I was three I could hardly say anything
My son is 28 months. He understands everything! And he can follow some simple commands like good night and he gets in bed, where is the remote for the tv and he will get it, go get your shoes or mommys shoes and he gets them. However he communicates about 12-15 words total to ME and others He can repeat certain words but does not use sentence structures or puts to words together. Some people told me that he can't articulate words. what can i do to help him. I have lost sleep over this.
My sister is 8 and she doesn't properly speak, however she can sing, and when she does, you can almost understand everything she says, she uses some words but not too many, we have taken her to as many therapies as possible, however, we can tell she understands everything, she was diagnosed with psychomotor delay, we checked and there is no autism whatsoever, the hard part is always believing, "She will begin speaking soon, she has to" but then it doesn't happen, she can probably say only 20 words, but thats about it, is there any tips on this matter, any hope? I've heard of kids with autism (which i know is not nearly the same) who even began speaking at 8-13 years of age while never saying a word prior to that, I am desperate to find some help, seems like we've gone to every single specialist, they say it may also be a conduct problem, so we are working like that, it's a weird limbo we live in, she isn't 100% healthy but neither considered to have an actual disability, which means there isn't much help out there, not online, not in the real world, is there anything here? Thank you!
My 2 year old daughter can only say "dada". She runs, figures out puzzles, loves her books, everything else seems normal, but can't say words. I'm so worried.
My son is 22 months. He understands quite a bit. And he can follow some simple commands. However the only command he communicates to ME and others is "no", or "mama". He can repeat certain words but does not use sentence structures. For example there is a sweetie that he wants me to open. I have spent about 24 hours trying to get him to say the word "open" but he will not. He CAN repeat the word if he hears it, but he wont use it to communicate his needs.I am a bit concerned about him.
my Daughter is 2 yrs and one month. she can barely speak or pronounce any word, apart from "dada" meaning daddy... she can respond to many commands such as come here, close the fridge, sleep , eat and so on and so fourth but she cant speak.. should i get worried for dumbness?

Hey,if anyone can give me some advice I’d be thankful. I took my son(3.6 years) and am getting him evaluated for speech delay. Has anyone been through a public school system that does this?
