Omg!! It makes so much sense to know that my child has a hard time telling me things because she doesn’t know enough verbs! It’s really hard to figure these things myself. So happy I came across your videos. Now I know where I can focus on.

Do you know how amazing it feels to have found this video? For an entire year now, my husband and I have been down this rabbit hole of helping our son's speech to develop. We tried a state-run program that has a more naturalistic approach and often times it felt like nothing was happening, and quite frankly, no, he didn't progress. I thought it was funny that you mentioned "especially Asians" would feel confused on this approach because it's true! I am a black woman and I was confused by such a unstructured, untargeted approach. We can't get any answers on what to do to even teach our child and it was comforting to know that maybe teaching more verbs will help. Additionally, I watched your other video and I felt good because I created a donut shop for him cuz he loves to cook. I created a dramatic play donut shop, garage, and doctor's office for imaginative play. This let mw know I was on the right track so thank you for this video. I feel confident again!

This is a superb sharing from a senior to a junior speech therapist. It’s so comprehensive and details with your sincere hearts to help parents. You’re really the Master of teaching kids with speech issues. Also, you always stand on our kid’s shoes that I “felt in love” to 😊😆

Thanks for the video, my son is 15 and is still not at the level of his age group. However, we have noticed that he will only speak when ge needs something, it doesn't help that he is also introverted. He is also aware of his challenges, we will try the techniques and see how it goes. Thank you so much.

Very interesting. Thank you. Question: You are telling us WHAT to do, but could you give more specific examples of HOW to do it? To be fair I haven't watched your other videos. Many of us learn best by hearing or seeing examples of how to do something. Thank you again for sharing.

My son will be 3 years old next month. He does say words but it's not often. We don't have conversations like I see other children his age. I believe it's from not taking him to be evaluated early. At least so I can know where I need assistance. I was told not to compare my child to others. I just believe I used more of the natural technique more than the constructive one. So I've been more firm with him, I talk to him, I do more in and outside activities with him. I'm still natural but I explained myself more when he does something he shouldn't. I play a lot of educational shows, no more ABC songs, we do phonics more now. I say, repeat and imitate the words, he loves that. I see he likes it because I'm mainly busy. So I've been taking as much time out of my day to sit, play and talk to him. I also play jazz music when he plays and bathes. We listen to silence together when he's playing, laying down, or resting. I made appointments for him to finally be seen by a doctor. I don't believe he has autism or ADHD, I just believe he needs a speech therapist. Also for me to be more firm and constructive with his daily routine. Maybe stay off my phone as well when I'm with him. Thanks for always keeping us informed on simple tasks that can help our children grow. 💯
