- I was having issues with the unit shutting down High A E temp code 1 on the on board computer screen I tried topping the oils up and coolant but still shutting down after 20 mins on full demand. I had no issues with oil in my lines the only reason I swapped the air oil separator was it was because it is over the 1000 hours since last change and I topped the oil up on a job (hydraulic oil) not the proper grade but will do me for temporary measures as I couldn't get hold of no rotary screw oil. knowing soon as I get back I was planning a 1000 hour service
500 hour is the same service with out the oil air separator.
my 1st feeling was the rads was blocked and thats not cooling the oil 60/40 split on the rear 40% oil cooler 60% engine coolant turns out it was a little dirty but not enough to make her shut down.
back to work tomorrow on the hopes its fixed the issue as I have no means of running the unit up under full load in my yard :( im feeling confident as ive also removed the thermostat (coolant diverter) Its a must that this goes back in but im going to run it for 1 day without to see if its fixed then pop it back in as it is opening in a cup of boiling water but for what it takes to try it without I will risk it for 1 day then if it does shut down after I know what to order :)
Love the use of the plumber's wrench for everything. Time for a lick of paint and a bit of branding on that beast though.
Haha when I'm not so lucky to own a load of tools I have to make do sometimes haha I was thinking exactly the same watching this but its finding the time 😮💨
@@Mobileblaster farmers tools, big hammer and....a bigger hammer!
@@kevinharker1840 well my moto is if it cannot be fixed with tie raps and gaffa tape ya eva not using enough tie raps and gaffa tape or it's probably not worth fixing anyways 😂
I really like how all the filters are being changed while the unit is running. Very smart. Is this a comedy skit
That's why I'm a sandblaster and not a fitter 🫡
You should try to avoid replacing the air filter with the engine on.
The dust collected around the filter is sucked in straight into the engine, same for the pump.
Also, having dust on the inner filter support is not normal,it should be clean.
Maybe the sealing around the filter is not good, filtration material is not good enough,or the filter element is damaged.
Yeah Thanks probs a good idea my method was warm the oil up so it would drain and I was a little impatient so started with the air
@@Mobileblaster
I understand.
If the engine sat for the night, don't need to start it to warm up the oil, just drain it.
Warm oil is maybe more fluid, but an engine that just worked is full of a nice thick coat of oil that will not be drained, being on the parts everywhere inside.
A cold engine has all its oil in the pan,and nothing elsewhere inside.
@@michaelovitch ah I always thort it needed to be warm to run out nice but that kinda makes sense
@@Mobileblaster ad also be fitting an internal air filter.. yours in missing ... enless you slid them both in together ?
@@Bobcat_bob_uk ya right 175£ for the internal each and they aren't part of the service kit from doosan 🤔 hence why it's still missing 😂
You must get the missis to get you a filter wrench for Xmas 😂😂😂
🤔 nah my monkey grips just the tool for every job haha
Amigo , le recomiendo que a las conecciones de asiento cónico, darle unos golpes por cada lado de la tuerca y afloja muy rápido !!
Thanks I will try that next time :)
Nice job,❤❤
😊👌👍
@@Mobileblaster We have a sandblasting compressor,,,when it is pressurized, it automatically depressurizes again.,, What is the reason for this?
Is that Bruno, pipe wrench and a sledge hammer.
😬
What psi do you run your nova 3 at? I upgraded my setup few weeks ago but can’t find much info on it thanks
It's down to feel no right or wrong answer so long as the yellow tab thingy at your right cheek is visible your fine. I cannot remember if your supposed to see the yellow thing or its to be hidden I turn it to what ever the conditions obversly you want air to demist the screen and you don't want too much or ya will get brain freeze 😂
What is the part number of the air oil separator? Please
Not sure now I've done away with the boxes sorry
1st time? You got the big box 📦 package $$$s
Did ya know they send RUclipsrs free gifts?? Just a pure shame I had to pay for this as im not a big enough channel haha its the 1st time I fancied doing a video about it tho because not been very busy and nothing much els to show :(
@@Mobileblaster is winter there now of course? I'm getting out of winter now... ready to get rid of some backlogs
@@jdaspects Yeah but it seams since covid no one wants anything doing Eva that or I have learnt too many people how to blast from the videos in my area and they are sucking up all the work haha.
@@Mobileblaster eva? Environmental agency?
@@jdaspects eva = either sorry I'm not the best with English that is 1 skill I struggle with for sure
Would you recommend 771 dousin thinking of buying one I'm in West of Ireland
I've had good service from mine 6 year or so 8 hours aday 5 and 6 days aweek I believe my issues I've had are brought upon by myself ecu failure possibly because it lives outside and its in a little crap spot for water ingress other than this solid air end and good engine. If I was to buy new I would be picking doosan only because of pervious service I've had from past units 👌👍
@@Mobileblaster Thank you very much you're a good goer
I wonder why Doosan didn't make the whole canopy assembly hinge forward . My 7/51 does 🤔.
7/41 and 51 do but the 71 would be too heavy once its opened it would tip over
@@Mobileblaster Ah OK fair enough 👍
@@boatsandblastservices2165 Its only a theory of mine because if the wind gets hold of the lid when it's up on a 51 at least feels a little uncomfortable to be around. I've had some hours with a 41 and a 51 both really good units and it was a matter of 1st up best compressor back in the day I had folk working for me and we had the choice of 140 180 or 260 and I can honestly say everyone would pick the 180 1st then the 260 then 140 but I had to keep the 1 that made most sense at the time and sell the other 2 to survive covid 😔 I once had a very nifty little setup and work force very small but busy now it feels like I'm starting out all over again after trying to reduce my over heads and losing some good lads and my lock up plus alot of equipment 😒 I'm on the braking point just as things was looking up uk government stop the low tax fuel I've to find an extra £2000 a month with only 1 compressor I can only imagine how the UK will change as its not just me its everything that's plant and nearly every other industry that will be affected
This Covid has caused complete chaos to pretty much everyone . Although some people seemed to have milked it completely and have done extremely well out of it 🤔. Having to run on white is something else to contend with , everyone is going to have put up their prices to compensate ☹.
what motor is in your's mick, mine runs a john deere unit, ran faultless so far.
It's a yanmar 4tnv98t. I'm happy with its service to be fair it's served me very well I wouldn't say its the best on the market because I've not tried them all but I have no reason to swap it out 👌 possibly will be this year tho as in the UK the driving test for HGV has just been made a load similar so I was planning on getting a 18ton ish wagon this will unlock bigger compressors options 😏
Cuánto aceite llevan? Yo tengo un 185 cfm
🤔 this a trick question? That's like saying how much oil dose a tub hold 😬
How much does a service kit cost for those?
1 arm and half a leg haha way more than I can get the parts for if I could wait for delivery. To be fair the oil air separator is cheaper from doosan than the Web by a long shot but they got me back with the oil haha at least its enough to do another service.
just had my compressor (1987 IR 250,Deutz engine) serviced (fluids and filters pm) and it ran for 20 minutes then shut down. i think it may be the thermostat? any thoughts?
Did you change the oil air separator?
no, i just pulled it out today. wanted to see if there was a way to test it.
@Brett Stanley you had the top off the oil air separator?
Sorry, i didn’t understand it as first, if you mean the filters then yes, they were all changed,
@Brett Stanley is any oil passing into the air before she shuts down? Dose it start back up and run for 20mins after it shuts down or dose it need to cool down before it will run again I'm trying to find out if eva you clipped the black plastic thing ontop of the air oil separator as its a tricky to line up if that's got broken it will make her shut down also add oil to air. I would check you have the air pipes on the right direction from top hat to pressure valve. It was working fine before the service?
good god man how you going to get it off you crank it down that tight man! its a turn and a 1/4 once the rubber touch's that it hand tight on them filters man one hand tight not 2 for god sake!
Filter straps never fail 😏
Is this guy Italian, he's not working on my anything
¿
That looks like a shitty job to do in this weather 😂. Howmany hours does the doosan have?
Yep and I always seam to need to do crap like this when it's eva cold or raining. When I had a heated lockup everything ran smoothly 😂 soon as I'm ruffing it in a yard with no shelter heaps of issues haha.
It looks a shitter now but when I got it about 5 year ago it had 0.4 hours 4 ish year ago the hour clock stopped working at 2650 I estimate its in the 6k hours now possibly more I give it a service around 3 to 4 months every other service do the oil air separator. I will also service my filter on the breathing line for my helmet around the same time I've got that on order. They should be done 3 to 6 months I do them on the 3 month as I possible be on the top end of the hours used
Hello
Hi 👋
You need an apprentice! Some lithe 18 yr old to do all tha crawlin round. :-D
I had 2 young lads 1 with me and 1 with my other older apprentice that served his time with me I was building an empire until covid dried up my workload and I had to sell some gear to keep paying the bills just about finding my feet again and the UK changes the rules on low tax fuel in April so more than likely be the end of me and my business as I will need to find an extra £2000 a month to feed the fuel habit my compressor has 😳 just have to see how much I can weather. I honestly cannot take much more bad luck. Anything happens seriously like a fault with the van compressor or blast pot I simply cannot afford to restart. All I'm doing lately is chucking good money after bad 🥵
@@Mobileblaster COVID has screwed us all horribly. We HAD a contingency plan all set up but it got disbanded at the first chance, so we were forcibly flat-footed. 800K+ dead, along with all their businesses. Not bad work for a bit of DNA - leaving us ALL SOL. Keep the channel going - get some merch goin' I'm right here with ya for what I can offer.
@@mdouglaswray Thx man I see it like this its hit me hard but others have paid the ultimate price with covid so on the silver lining at least we're still hear in good health hopefully 💞 that and time is a thing money cannot buy 👌 I really appreciate your support I'm more than happy to receive constructive criticism on a video than trying to push merch or members only content or even pushing for donations I believe if im ment to have money from this channel it will come in the sense of advert revenue 💞👌 that way everything stays free and hopefully I get better at makeing videos 😁✊💞
@@Mobileblaster I thought you were rolling... isn't surface preparation fruitful? Didn't know of these issues you were facing. Can't you charge more for the work to cover the fuel tax?
@@jdaspects yes but the % that my bill will go up to cover the fuel I cannot grantee I will continue to get work.
I truly believe the blasting company that has green stuff that they sell and is on hear selling their rigs is giving false numbers saying $300+ per hour if that was the case why does anyone want to do anything els why bother training years and years to be a doctor vet solicitor etc etc when a guy can buy their rig for 50k and make 624+k per rig per year now dose them numbers sound daft? because it is haha. The real truth about blasting if your willing to put the hours in have the stress of running a business you can make a modest living but if I put my hours in per year I can grantee I wouldn't make minimum wage thats the real facts well in the uk at least. compare my hours if I worked at mc Dees I would be a richer person Fact!
Are those monkey grips / Still grips the factory removal tools🤫🤫
Spanner hammer pri bar 1 of the best tools in the van 😂 oh and they can also be used to turn pipes haha
