My great, great, great grandfather Hugh Wilson died in that mine in an explosion in 1878. Very interesting to take a "tour" of it. Thanks for bringing it to life.
Over 50 years ago i climbed to the bottom. There is a shaft that goes straight in, went in a couple hundred feet and got spooked and GOT THE HELL OUT OF THERE.
Great stuff!!
Cool history
That dude Chuck ,I met 2 Saturday’s ago & rode with him . Small world !
Love your videos!! as always, that poor cat was definitely trying to say something LOL. Sound track at the end was super Grungy!. awesome!!
Interesting video cool pictures how everything has changed though time keep the great videos coming friend from Scotland 👍
Great video. Lots of historyi enjoyed watching an learning. Thanks
I had wondered why this place looked familiar and the you mentioned that Cliff was there also but you should go back in the late fall early winter
Cool footage! Stay safe😊
Super cool !!! Stay safe !
That shaft on the side of the stripping tricked me as a kid. Hopped off the 3 wheeler and ran up that big hill just to see it didn't go anywhere lol.
That was awesome!!!! Very rare footage
I'd love to get there with my tree climbing gear as long as there's a good solid Branch to the tire around I can get down in there with my bright flashlight and get some really good footage.
Lots of thick trees! That would be the best footage. Getting down is easy....getting back out though..
LMK!
Get in touch with me...i want to explore lansford and coaldale with u jay
Very informative video, I enjoyed it. Yr videos show yr respect for the hard working miners working in terrible conditions. Stairway to Hell is an appropriate title. Actually if yr a music lover as myself the duo Heart did a terrific cover of Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Ctr, worth checking out. Keep up the good work
another good video my man...thats why i watch your stuff..i like how you crawl all around where most ppl would not...i was going to ask what part of town you were in..but it looks like you were on the north side
40:23 I can relate with your confusion about the structure. I’ve seen a couple similar
concrete/cement tunnels at coal mining related building foundations where steam engines were once located.
That guy Chuck , my buddy introduced me to him ,when we rode 2 Saturday’s ago & at that spot too ! Small world
The lv railroad that I mentioned that traveled thru woodland heights Centre st pa 54 big mine run junction to locust dale junction came near here or went by it ! ❤
Enjoyed your video. I am researching my family history and have a relative that died in 1899 near Potts colliery, just past a stable. Would you happen to have seen anything or know the possible location of a stable? From what I have read, it was just north of the colliery and there was a small ravine nearby, at least there was 122 yrs ago. I'd love to talk to anyone familiar with that area. This relative was a Civil War veteran who participated in many battles, so I would like to write up a nice, brief biography with photos.
Do you have old photos of the Potts?
Took the time to write a comment then somehow it disappears never to be seen again. I've heard other people talk about this happening but never had it happen to me personally ever until now. My comment is officially logged in the comments total count above yet it in is no longer here...strange....other comments seem to be missing also. Anyways loved the explore ! 👍👍
@Emmanuel GoldsteinGood point....but no actually strangely enough the comment was very positive and informative regarding climbing equipment , then ending with a compliment to Chris about the video he made and how awesome it was. It's all good, doesn't really matter 👍👍
Found out they took my sub off your channel ..if i dont watch a channel enough, they erase my sub to you...dont know why
