I used to sing this song to my sweetheart back in the 70s, and on for years and years after we were married. I lost her 2 months ago after a lengthy illness. When she was at her worst times in the hospital, I would crawl up onto the bed beside her and sing this and other old love songs. At first, it was almost like magic, as she would get better and amaze the doctors and nurses. As a physician myself, I have seen many things turn patients around, albeit sometimes only briefly. Music was sometimes the strongest medicine. Regardless, after 8 months, she finally passed away with me holding her hand. I still love the old songs, but while they bring back many good memories, they also refresh my mind with the realization that I won't see her until my time comes. I am going to repeat her last words, I love you baby.
I am so sorry to know of your loss. When I hear this song and several like it from that era, my mind goes right back there... my husband is a singer and musician , yet never sings at home, :(, but the songs Ive heard him sing on stage still echo and our love of 50 plus years is as powerful and love portrayed in this music.

I remember when Dr Hook came to South Hedland, in the Pilbara, Western Australia, 1984. They played at the oval. I couldn't believe it. They traveled all that way. I love Dr Hook and this is one of my favourites of all time. “ When your body’s had enough of me And I’m laying flat out on the floor When you think I’ve loved you all I can I’m gonna love you a little bit more. ♥️” I love it ♥️😎♥️
It was summer of 1980, as a young Able Seaman, ashore in Jarrow, UK I brought a cassette an album of DR. Hook. Since then I enjoy the music and place where I brought it. The good old days being a sailor.
Love this song remember it so well, this song is so well known, and time stands still to younger days especially the 70s. Great times, music and memories . What a great era we had,
I was born in the late 70's and my wonderful parents instilled the love of great music in myself and my sibblings...and Dr.Hook is right up there with the greatest of all!!! I love your music and I hope my kids will love it as much as we all have!!! Thank you for this!!!
Lyrics:
When your body's had enough of me
And I'm layin' flat out on the floor
When you think I've loved you all I can
I'm gonna love you a little bit more
Come on over here and lay by my side
I've got to be touchin' you
Let me rub your tired shoulders
The way I used to do
Look into my eyes and give me that smile
The one that always turns me on
And let me take your hair down
'Cause we're stayin' up to greet the sun
And when your body's had enough of me
And I'm layin' flat out on the floor
When you think I've loved you all I can
I'm gonna love you a little bit more
Got to say a few things that have been on my mind
And you know where my mind has been
I guess I learned my lessons
And now's the time to begin
So if you're feelin alright and you're ready for me
I know that I'm ready for you
We better get it on now
'Cause we got a whole life to live through
And when your body's had enough of me
And I'm layin' flat on the floor
When you think I've loved you all I can
I'm gonna love you a little bit more
And when your body's had enough of me
And I'm layin' flat out on the floor
Thank you😊for these lyrics

She was a very lucky woman to be loved by you. X
To see Ray and Denis singing together just - kind of - makes you warm inside, makes you believe in humanity, friendship.

The best music ever in the 70’s without a doubt
@bryantbenson69 Hi I've been listening to these songs since the 70's
I like When You're in Love With a Beautiful Woman
What's yours
I went to see Dr Hook Derek Locorriere in Liverpool last year it was wonderful
Near Liverpool
I remember when Dr Hook came to South Hedland, in the Pilbara, Western Australia, 1984. They played at the oval. I couldn't believe it. They traveled all that way.
I was 12 years old with my sister who was 24. We had the best time. It's the best memory I have with her before life took us in different directions. She passed from lung cancer at 59.
Thankyou Dr Hook for that wonderful concert all those years ago. Very special indeed.
I was born in 1970 and I seen Dr Hook in Greenwood SC it was in a small bar I went by the bar and it said Hook in concert I bought the front table it was a blast thank you Dr Hook

Wow Magical. I’ve never seen them I’ve seen Donovan and Bowie twice each though I’m very lucky. Warm blessings 🥰🥰🥰
Ray Sawyer, rest in peace my brother!!!!😘 You are singing for God and his angels!!!!!!😘 You will be missed here on Earth!!!!
