"When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman" is an internationally successful single by Dr. Hook. It was recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, Alabama.
Written by Even Stevens, who followed producer Ron Haffkine into the studio bathroom to pitch him the song. "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman" first appeared on the band's 1978 album Pleasure and Pain. Riding the disco wave in 1979 it belatedly became an international hit, reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the USA and doing even better in the UK where it spent three weeks at number one in the UK Singles Chart in November 1979. The song was subsequently added to the band's 1979 album Sometimes You Win.

I'm old enough to remember when this aired originally on The Midnight Special. There was nothing like Dr Hook in those days. That music is timeless it still does the magic today.

I don't care if they were stoned or not they were a joy to watch. Always looked liked they were enjoying themselves and boy could they all sing and play. Makes you feel good just watching them.
I have watched other artists a LOT more stoned than these guys are..... Eddie Money on this show couldn't even stand in one place for more than a second....

I saw them a long time ago in a little bar in Tallahassee it was only about 10 ft from the stage. It was one of the best concerts I have ever seen they sounded so incredibly good live I was blown away. I always liked them but I never thought I would get the chance to see Dr Hook in concert it was such a privilege.

Saw Dr. Hook at Valley Forge Music Fair in the 80s with my wife. Really fun ! The bands enthusiasm and charisma had the entire audience smiling, laughing, dancing and having fun. Unforgettable.

I'm 67 and my husband tells me that for my age I'm still good looking BUT he wishes he knew when I looked like my younger self. We've only known each other for 19 years and luckily I was likeable enough to attract him. Margo you need to work on your self-esteem. When you think negatively of yourself you send out the signal that you aren't good enough & I believe you must be. Okay shutting my mouth or fingers I guess. Look at your positives & don't dwell on your negatives, we all have them.

Just here reminiscing about younger times...when I used to go to parties and date girls and just cruise the Strip. Man...those times were glorious...now I'm 65 and wishing my life had taken a different turn. I would wish for closer family ties and more family reunions but now I'm the last of my family of 9 and I hope to make it to at least 97 like my mother did...gives me a bit more time with my kids.Hell who knows, I may make it to 110...gotta think BIG!!!!

Had a friend back in this day and he had a "beautiful" woman and yes, dudes were coming out the woodwork for this woman. I use to sing it too him, piss him off, funny. Then he starts singing it, next thing, girlfriend is gone, hooked up with a rich dude. Took a while, friend was a big guy and would drop the fist in a minute but didn't help when the bird had flown!

sometime in the mid 80's in Tweed Canada i was at a 3 day festival where there were some bands and 4x4 trucks etc. i remember it was dark and i went to find a washroom inside the main building, it was a huge party outside and almost no one was inside the building. as i came out of the washroom i heard music and flowed it down the hall only to find a room the size of a school gym with maybe 50 people standing infront of a stage and Dr. Hook playing their hits! i stood maybe 10ft from patch and watched it until the end. when i came back to my friends i had the story of a life time i thought, until the next day the band drove around the campground and stopped at our site looking for rolling papers, my friend and i ended up going for a 10min ride in their van smoking mother nature and touring the grounds!
