    My Asawa, a balikbayan, just returned from the Philippines. Her immigration experience both entering and exiting the Philippines was quite pleasant. When entering the Philippines immigration took maybe 5 minutes. When leaving the Philippines she was advised by the airlines to arrive 4 hours early. She got there and immediately picked up her ticket and went to the gate. It took less than 30 minutes. I can say she had only carry-on baggage.

    Hi Jennifer ,
    When I landed in Manila coming from Davao landed at terminal 2 because I had to go to terminal 1 for my connecting flight to Los Angeles, California.
    Philippine Airlines was right there when I pick up my baggage to lead me were the customs officers to check my baggage and they took my baggage and transfer my baggage to my connecting flight. Then I walk outside they show me were to get the shuttle to go to terminal 1.
    I have to say , that Philippine Airlines were very helpful and. made things so much easier.

    4:55 it depends on process fruits & meat, canned processed fruits and meat are ok, like corned beef, dried mangoes. The restriction are for fresh fruits and meat, as it might contain insect, bacteria, viruses and it is considered Biohazard. I am a OFW and I always brings back a bunch of dried Apricot and Shawarma and no issue.

    Dear Jennifer always a pleasure. I just arrived at Cebu/Mactan June 2nd via Asiana airlines from Inchon. I started my flight from the US. There must have been at least 500 to 1000 travelers lining up at immigration. I was escorted to the senior line where there were only 3 ahead of me. At the immigration desk I was only asked if I had an ongoing ticket, I responded yes which I did have. At no time did she ask for my vaccination card or E-travel scan. She stamped my passport, and sent me on my way to baggage pickup. I don't know if she was just a nice lady or in a good mood. Kudos to that agent. It was the easiest/fastest checkout I have ever experienced in the world. As always, thanks for your information..

    Philippines is taking so long to lift their covid restriction. Sweden did not even have any lockdowns and they did not force their people get vaccinated. Natural immunity is better than being vaccinated. Many vaccinated actually got sick of covid after being vaccinated. And those not vaccinated became stronger by building their natural immunity. The PCR test was unreliable. I wonder what about the rapid antigen test...

    Long post incoming….
    I (American/Texan) went to PH (Manila) from May 27-June 7 to see my GF. When I arrived at NAIA at 8:55pm on May 27, I got through immigration in less than 10min. Fluke?
    We did a domestic flight from Manila to Cebu on May 30 and arrived 3 hours early. We didn’t check in bags and got through to our gate in 1.5 hours. It felt busy but there were lots of staff to assist every step of the way.
    Going from Cebu back to Manila (May 5) was even easier and faster but we still arrived 3 hours early to Cebu airport. I am pretty sure Cebu airport simply has less people going through it than NAIA.
    However, going back to USA/Texas on June 7 took 2 hours at NAIA despite arriving 3 hours early. Checking in took 1.5 hours since my carrier did not allow online check-in and so I was forced to stand in line with everyone who had bags to check in. after that, I went to immigration/security and wow Immigration/security was SLAMMED. I did see at least 7 immigration agents getting people through and all security areas open for travelers. So that helped.
    Pro Tips for ANYONE traveling to or from PH:
    1. Always arrive 3 hours early at minimum to NAIA or any major airport. It’s better to walk around the airport with extra time than to be running to your gate hoping you can make it on time.
    2. Do online check-in with your flight carrier (download the carrier’s app) if it is possible. If you don’t know how, RUclips it or ask a friend or family or me (lol). It’s worth learning. Also, some carriers have kiosks where you can check in. Use those if you can.
    3. Use apps like “Flighty” because it will give you gate info, plane info, travel time, reminders, flight confirmation codes….etc. This app is very useful.
    4. Try to travel as light as possible. I can travel for 2 weeks solely with my 40liter backpack. Obviously if you travel with kids or are a woman, it won’t be that easy but you can still attempt to pack as light as possible. Use backpacks as much as you can.
    PS: I know many of you really dislike doing things online because you may not know how or it may feel confusing. Please ask for help or RUclips stuff because online booking, online check-in, online boarding pass, and online flight management truly is the fastest, easiest, and least stressful way to deal with travel.

    My personal experience as an unvaxxed person. Emirates would not allow me to board from JFK to Manila without an Antigen test. I told them it was optional and I could take it upon arrival in Manila. They said their information about the Philippiines says nothing about testing on arrival and I was forced to leave the counter and get a test. So, it's up to the airlines. When I arrived in Manila I was not asked for either my E-travel code or antigen test. Sooo...there you go...it's a crapshoot. This was all a few days ago.

    • @YouDcm
      @YouDcm Год назад +1

      @@olsiegirl2023 Yes, but the qr code doesn't matter. Emirates wants either proof of vaccination or antigen test. I was "lucky" that JFK still has a testing center in Terminal 1. Cost me $180. Of course there was no line/wait time to get the antigen test because nobody is requiring them anymore except the backwards Philippines.

    Hello Jennifer, Gary and Susana here and we love your site. You can check other airlines and airports, but at Incheon Airport, Jin Air's flight to Clark is being moved from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 starting July 1. We fly Korean Air from Washington, DC. Dulles International Airport to Incheon, Terminal 2. We then transfer to Jin Air so we can fly into Clark instead of NAIA. Before, Jin Air was in Terminal 1, Incheon, so it was a long walk to the other terminal. Keep up the good work! Thank you and God Bless.

    Ganda ganda naman Jennifer. Ang ayaw ko lang naman sa departure sa NAIA terminal 1 eh bago sumakay ng eroplano meron ulit security check na gagawin kung saan magtatanggal ulit ng sapatos. So maliban sa unang security check after immigration eh meron pa ulit isa which is hassle talaga so twice ka magtatanggal ng sapatos. Pag nasa waiting area ka na tas hinarangan na nila at pag kelangan mo mag cr pagbalik mo dadaan ka nanaman sa security check at magtatanggal na ulit ng sapatos. Mga ibang empleyado nila wala naman sila ginagawa nagkukwentuhan lang while on work tas meron pa pakape kape nalang sa tabi.

    Flew in to Clark this week.
    1. No one asked for the QR Code, or vaccine card. (Maybe because it was late at night. Only one BOQ officer at hand to process red QR codes.
    2. Flight landed after midnight, took 2 hours just to get to the immigration officer (only 5 officers available.) (around 300 passengers)
    Very professional and expedited service.
    3. People that had the red QR code self identified to the etravel counter, registered and released
    4. Took 1 hour to complete the international transfer at Incheon South Korea airport from the US. ( for some reason they want to complete a full TSA type screening for transfer passengers) probably a good idea not to have less than an hour layover in Korea
    5. In general the process is smooth, just need plenty of patience and time.

    Hi Jennifer. I have been following you since you started this info page and have found it very very helpful. Recently, you mentioned that the first visa extension can now be done on line. When I was last in BI in Cebu they told me we still need to attend the office to extend for the 29 days. I would rather believe you as your info has always been accurate. Can you please confirm that we can now extend first visa extension online. I have lived in Cebu for 14 years now as a tourist, so I am very familiar with the visa procedures and thank to you Jennifer you have smoothed my path more than once. keep up the good work! LSO I have attempted to check with the BI website but found it very user UN-friendly!

    Just got home, was there for the month of May and the traveling requirements were pretty easy they never checked my vax card and the etravel does not ask about booster, immigration was quick, my only complaint and still complaint is the gating constantly changes at T2 and the loading is very undisciplined. There are a couple easy fixes to both problems, as far as the gates put monitors up on the wall at each gate posting changes and gate assignments I think there is only one monitor its at the security point and the loading problem stems from the amount of carry on luggage they all want the bin above their seat but to many people are bringing on multiple bags so they all want to be loaded first and when they line up boarding order they line them next to each other and it just funnels together and once your in your in they need to separate them one line here and one line over there.

      Hi I am from visa-free country ..travel agency in my country told me I have to apply for visa upon arrival ..I am just planing to stay less than 3 weeks..do I really need visa ? If so ..where in airport I have to get it ??

    • @jaymortensen642
      @jaymortensen642 Год назад

      @@supermario4024 I am from the US and its is visa free and we get 30 days on the passport but you can renew it every month for like 2 1/2 years for a small fee, the thing is you need a ticket showing you are leaving in that 30 days. I think its the same for any visa free country but look it up in your state department or the Philippines web site.

    • @jaymortensen642
      @jaymortensen642 Год назад +1

      @@supermario4024 At the airport they stamp you coming in and then they stamp again when you leave just make sure to have the Etravel QR code you do that online up to 72 hours before you go but you don't need to have that when you leave only Filipinos need it to exit the country, no one has ever asked to see the stamp other than immigration its basically just the date. Now it seems like you are not sure how long your stay is they do require an exiting plane ticket within 30 days of arrival but I have never been asked to show it they just ask how long you will be there. They are very friendly don't be nervous language is the only issue Tagalog is the most widely spoken because of Manila and English you can get by on other than that they have like 115 dialects so it depends on where your final destination is as to what the native language is. I'm not sure which airport your flying into but I have flown international and domestic to and out of both Manila and Cebu, Cebu is the easiest. I have not been to Mindanao so I can not say how airports are there.

    😅 unlike the rest of the world, the Philippines is living in the 1960s and doesn't know how to get up with rest of the world yet. Immigration disasters and peoples belongings stolen are what seems to be the norm in the country. 3rd and 4th reading of the new Immigration law what farse vote and get it into law, why wait ( is someone missing out on their money) ??😊 keep up the good work Jennifer I'm on your side it's just so frustrating, cheers
