  • This is the second major step in this process, that didn't end up being too difficult.
The stock radio and HVAC controls are removed; I show you how.
TheDetailSS.com kit requires a bit of cutting... I show you how to do that as well. It is so much easier than you think and really simple.
Thanks for watching, we are getting close to the finish line here. Check the other movies for previous steps. Thanks for watching!

The tool that you used to cut with. Would it work good with cutting the dash part out around the cd player part so I can install the double bracket

Ummm possibly. It was just a saw blade, not the most precise, but if you’re covering your cut marks with the new double din trim, it probably would be fine. Best of luck!

Love your videos. Just had a copule questions regarding your Impala motor upgrade. You said you went ahead and went with a 383 stroker. Im in the market of buying a 1996 impala and would like to very soon turn the same motor into a 383 stroker as well. I guess my question is more of an emissions one. Is your car smog legal. BTW im in California. If your car is smog legal, what parts did you go with as far as internally, I mean? Any info you want to share will be appreciated, thanks

Well in Ohio, we have an E-Check, basically they hook up to the OBD Port and look for codes, use history, etc. No visual inspection unless you fail the plug in check or they can't pull data. Right now I have no check engine lights and no issues. It should be fine for passing in Ohio, but as far as California goes, I've heard they are stricter.
I have removed the AIR Pump, random other things and they have been written out of the PCM. The cats are still present though, because if they look they need to be there. Also, removing cats is quite smelly, like vintage exhaust smell for us "younger guys".
Hope that helps, thanks for following along!
