Sergei was one of the most gorgeous men to roam the earth. 😍 Ekaterina is so delicate and elegant. This performance is nothing less than pure magic.

Such an amazing pair. She was small and dainty and he was big and strong. She skated like an angel and he skated to make her look exquisite. RIP Sergei.
She was like a dainty doll in his arms and he seemed to surround her with a love and protective shield. Such beauty and love are rarely seen so vividly!

they got paired up when they were still little kids
she was just a baby at 11 - my goodness
so as the time went on, they pretty much grew up together
they would spend hours and hours training together so it is not too suprising that a love started to bloom between them
something else that is not too suprising is that most russian couples are married to eachother so this is pretty common.
they literally OWNED the ice and yes, they were magical

Pairs is so so so much bigger now then in was back then, but there’s such little synchronicity... It often feels like two singles skaters where the bloke occasionally throws the woman... Though the pairs teams who’ve recently commissioned ice dancers to choreograph (e.g., Savchenko & Massot, James & Cipres) are bringing something new and special to the field.
They gave a crazy name for Sergey's mother! Why on earth "Lydia Fyedoseeva", she was "Anna Grinkova"!

That name sounds familiar though. I think Lydia Fedoseeva was her maternal grandmother who lived with them. She was probably in the room with them but they messed up and put her name over Anna instead.
