Sir u said through the charter act of 1833 ,provincial legislation was abolished....but during explaining charter act of 1853 u said 4 of legislative councils members are appointed from Bengal,Madras,Bombay, agra's local provincial govt.
Sir I m getting confused if now provincial legislation doesn't exist how they appoint members from local provincial legislatures.......plz sir clear this point to me .....😌 I will be thankfull ❤️
provincial legislature was abolished but province still exist na....so member can be appointged ....................its like UP legislature got abolished but in union parliament someone from up get nominated@@fizaunnissa653

FOR EVERYONE CONFUSED IN COMMENTS
Under Pitt’s India Act (1784) the Governor-General’s Council was composed of three ‘Ordinary Members’ and one ‘Extraordinary Member’ (the Commander-in-Chief).
Under the Charter Act of 1833, the number of ‘Ordinary Members’ was raised to four, and the Commander-in-Chief remained an ‘Extraordinary Member'
*SO NO COMMANDER IN CHIEF WAS NOT ADDED IN CHARTER ACT 1853*
He existed from Pitt's act of 1784 but was an extraordinary member and still remained an extraordinary member
In pitts act
They distinguished the commercial and political work
For the purpose of trading they make separate body called court of director
And for administrative and political function they make the body of board of council
@@khushiwadhwa5177by above statement you are agree or not?
Actually I am confused actually in 1773 they said that governs general of Bengal has four members of council to assist him
That means in 1786, the executive council had 3 members, as the governor general was commander in chief himself.
No book no coaching institute can explain like this. Seriously you guys are awesome. You covered every nuance yet made it look so easy. Hats off

A great video but one thing...you didn't tell about commander-in-chief being included in the executive council.
Woh pichle videos mei cover kiya hei provincial level pe kiya tha
1784 me btaya toh tha.
@@mohammedarafatlone central m bhi tha... pitt's India Act 1784... one member become reduced from Council... one of the three would be the "commander-in-chief" of the British crown's army in India
Pitt's India Act 1784
Central legislature k ander Executives m..6 nhi..5 members honge.. bcoz C-in-chief is one among the 4 members under GG's executive council.
In Pitts India Act 1784, the Governor-General’s council’s strength was reduced to 3 members. One of the three would be the Commander-in-Chief of the British Crown’s army in India.
Governor's Council also had 1 mem. commander in chief
Class apart videos totally mind boggling freaking awesome ....I read ncert and other books on modern india the acts passed always remained translucent u made it transparent ...
Charter act always comes in upsc pre. Exam in different forms....

Very nice and informative vedio 👍 sir 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Sir, as per the charter act of 1833, GG of India had an executive council of 4 members where on of them was a law maker and one of them was the commander in chief ( commander in chief post came in Pitts India act of 1781 , which was not changed in Charter act of 1833 either ).
Now how come GG of India had 5 more members to support him?
Doubt is at 4:08. Please have a look.
S bro I has same doubt
But in pittsindia act there are commander chief only in provincial legislature not in central

Before the Act (1773-1784):
The Governor-General's Council had four 'Ordinary Members' and no 'Extraordinary Member.'
After the Act (1784 onwards):
The Governor-General's Council was composed of three 'Ordinary Members' and one 'Extraordinary Member,' who was the Commander-in-Chief.
