Metabo grinders = win! That said, avoid the Metabo-HTP line(found in big box stores), they're garbage that was rebranded from Hitachi(IIRC). Tip from a machinist: Cutting oil does matter, and I wouldn't buy it at a welding supply store. Stop in at a local machine shop and ask them to put you in touch with whoever supplies their coolant/cutting fluid. Chances are you can buy a five gallon pail of a superior product for far less per fluid ounce than what you're paying at the welding supply. Along with that, make sure you're running those cutters at appropriate speeds for the material they're cutting. Running any cutting tool too fast generates excess heat, which ends up as heat soak in the cutter, a reduction in the hardness of the cutting edges, and drastically reduced life. More than likely, the machine shop can also put you in touch with a reasonably priced resharpening service for your cutters too.
Evo chop saw, speed square, G clamps and Vise grip welding clamps. Not sure you can do a top five a top 20 must have welding equipment tools would be a healthy start.
Bosch, Hitachi, Fein, Metabo and Makita are all brands I have owned. All have burned out and the Metabo's I woned in 2008 were the worst. They are plastic on the bottom of the gearbox too where the guard mounts. I currently run ten Makita grinder's, one Bosch and one Hitachi. Keep up the good work young man!

I can see how the chop saw would be nice. I’ve always used a portaband because that’s what my former boss had for us. I started my own thing. Saving up for my mobile rig now. Great videos man.

Eski is definitely good choice in Fl I find Japanese 110V Nitto Khoki needle gun is another one of those must have tools if you do a lot of stick welding 👍 But it ain’t cheap 0.030”- 5” flex carbon discs from Pferd are the best cut off discs there are- will cut 1.5” solid stainless rod like laser with almost no wear I have several metabos and Walters with speedos because I like hitching alu cutting carbide tipped discs onto them. They come with slip clutch as well. I Buy Made in Germany only. I would not take their money if their”Metabo” is “Made in China”
1) half clamps. C clamps and/or bridge clamps with the end cut of so you can weld it temporarily to help with fit up. 2) Carpenter bar clamps. They can't be close to the weld because of the heat but they are great for the one-handed capability. 3) cordless grinder. They are not for hardcore grinding. But the convenience of having one for the little stuff has made mine indispensable. 4) kneeling pad. Trust me you have one spark get caught behind your knee pads you'll never want to wear them again! Kneeling pads do wear out because of the Sparks but it's well worth the convenience and the comfort. The more comfortably you are the more weld you can put down. 5) back up tools. You can get a little out of control with having backups because space is at a premium. I always make sure to keep an extra grinder, welding lead connectors, Etc in a do not touch box. The customer isn't going to pay you the two hours of windshield time to run and get another tweco fitting because it arced out.
@@MeltinMetalAnthony The air arc will help alot on thicker material repair. So much quicker than the metabo! Make sure your engine drive can handle the amperage.

Only problem is this is so subjective to your location or type of welding… mag drill was one of the first things I bought bc it was “so cool” it sat in my truck for over a year until just the other day when a company asked me to torch cut holes in forks for a ball hitch… 15 casual mins to blast two holes and make $100+ An air compressor and hyperthem plasma 45-65amp will put you ahead. Not only can you now use pneumatic tools like needle scaler or air hammer but you can also plasma gouge or just plain old plasma cut any material… oxy fuel torch is only good for steel (ovb) and it only get credit bc it’s the only other option. I run a Miller trailblazer AirPak with 65amp hypertherm and still continue to amaze customers with cut quality or metal removal (gouging) in the field. Keep it up 👍🏻
I'll see your LN-25 and raise you an Ln-25x. The crosslink system isn't needed to produce good welds and it's rarely needed but when you do need it it's awesome. Didn't think I'd care but I do
I think you should get one of those electric coolers instead, so they don't just keep the cold in but cool it a bit too. Not sure which is more durable but it would mean you don't have to mess with ice and stuff.
Anthony do you have or can you make a more extensive video like this? pls. def need to learn more about about clamps ect, have some magnets and vice grip clamps, need a vise, what about torches and torch accesories ie circle cutters and stuff.
I keep band-aides in my wallet. If I get a small cut or burn, I can clean it and throw on a band aide, then keep working. I think I would have a first aide kit on my truck Is that something you have? Maybe some burn cream?
Question, that Dewalt Mag drill, how performs? I read that some people complain about some play in the annular cutters in the chuck. I noticed in the videos some up/down play. Can you share some info on this? I ordered one (Fein), however, I can return it and get the Dewalt.

being a self employed guy who does all the work I want something that's gonna last a long time. besides the quick coupler feature the Metabo grinders have been my most durable and used tool
I’ve never owned a metabo, but I’ve had the same experience with dewalt. All of my dewalt grinders have been amazing. Run for hours, dropped, left in the rain, they’ve seen it all. Maybe I’ll have to try a metabo next.

Great video, if you haven't get a built in compressor plasma cutter, is a great investment also. I would recommend Hypertherm power max 30.great tool.
ive been considering one, but im pretty proficient with a torch. so its at the back of the list behind a lance, air arc gouge and line bore set up.

metabo eh? im not a welder, but I always thought makita was the golden standard for welders? deffinatly the most common from what i've seen.
