"Sleep on" is Gen Z slang, so you may want to keep that in mind. It's not an idiom like 足を向けて寝れない that's been around for a really long time, and if you use it while talking to older people they might not understand.
ye not everyone can understand "sleep on it" because younger generation made this popular I guess. not everyone may understand this because it's not literal meaning. because sleeping doesn't literally mean "ignoring"
