I found the Japanese dub less distracting in the game, because in the later playthroughs manually skipping dialogue becomes inevitable. The speech cutting isn't so distinct since you can't understand the language.
This OVA is very good.Obviously IS IMPOSIBLE RESUME A MORE THAN 30 HOURS NOVEL GAME IN 12 MINUTES.And if it porpuse is promotional, this is fine.Although i would like to see and anime of VLR, but how i say before, this is imposible resume this game. The anime would have more than 80 episodes if is would like the game.Although, this OVA is very fine, and the Blue Bird Lamentation's Theme in the credits end this perfectly.
30 hours? I think I've got over 70 hours in my saved data XD though I probably just let the 3ds open (stopped at some dialogue sentence) and left to eat/bath/whatever, more than a couple times lol
You'r wrong ! It is totally possible in a few episodes. For example, DEEN adapted Umineko, a 100+ hours LN, in 24 episode. How ? Skip boring charachter devellopement, took of the boring main aspect of the LN, wich is mystery, because who likes mystery ? Then you can concentrate on the side gory aspect and on the mystery one. But since you skipped the mystery part and still have to tell the resume of an eighth years old resume, and let the plot advance, you must makes the protagonist able to guess every solution to the mystery, without presenting the clues beforehand, because thinking is boOOoring....
Thank you for the English subs! Lol I started playing the game because I thought Toriumi Kousuke was in it. 😅 Imagine my surprise to discover that Sigma isn't voiced in the game. Happy to find this OVA though.
that man was too busy writing a paper because his girlfriend dumped him and his laptop ate shit he didnt even get the luxury of a relaxing car drive before he got kidnapped 😭😭😭
Has anyone ever wondered why clover still has her nickname in this sequel? I mean, in 999, they all had nicknames because they didn't want to say their real names, and they named her clover because she was number 4.
skygearliquid Actually, her real name is Yotsuba. It gets translated to Clover. Why the hell did they change it to Clover for the sequel too it's anyone's guess.
One reason is that in 999, during the flash back to the first nonary game, Snake (light) mentions his sister and specifically says her name is Clover, that was her name the whole time, that fact that she got #4 in the second game was just a lucky way to hide it being her real name
SPOILERS: Actually getting to hear Sigmas voice actor makes it much more obvious that him and K are both voiced by Daisuke Ono and the identity of who K is.
I know everyone loves Subs, but I really liked the English Dub of this. Personally, I like Phi, Alice, Tenmyouji and Dio in English, but Clover sounds waaaay better in Japanese. K sounds a little more like a big robot/suit/mask man in English, but a little younger and more natural in Japanese. Sigma, Quark and Luna sound approximately the same so it's hard to compare. And, of course, Zero III is equally irritating in both versions (although those voice actresses are hilarious in both). That being said, this OVA is just plain awesome, period. :D
I agree with you. I found the english voice acting pretty good besides the voice acting for clover. However, even though I thought phi's english voice actor was good; I think the japanese voice actor was much better. The voice for zero in both were really great. and maybe it was cos I played through the Japanese version first; but Tenmyouji's deep awesome voice in english took me by surprise. XD
DarkSol I happen to really like Phi's voice in both, but I also happen to prefer Phi's low, rotating inflections in the English version of the game. (The voice reminds me of Raven's from Teen Titans.) In the Japanese, she sounds more human. And not to say that she's even close to robotic - she's humanized throughout the game - the darker, richer and debatably older-sounding voice gives her a more distant, almost aloof and calculating aura. Given her personality traits, I'd say that it matches the English voice better (in my head). The voice acting in the OVA is better in Japanese (for Phi), but I'd say that was more a consequence of timing the animation. In the game, it's a lot more fluid and natural. And yeah, I saw English EVERYTHING first, so hearing Tenmyouji's voice made me almost choke on my metaphorical beverage. Ha :P
?? Sure - I just mean that he sounds equally as good in the English and the Japanese. Lots of people like to argue "SUBS VERSUS DUBS" but for this series, both are well-executed... the casting is well done, but it's not clear-cut for all the characters.
Jesus. Everything went at a Sanic pace. I thought Sigma didn't know Phi's name till later on... and what happened to "I just know! I looked. I thought. That's Sigma." Heh... seems like a teaser trailer for the game.
Shadna Otomi As far as I'm aware, this is the only episode. It was released alongside VLR, and there's one thing that would kinda imply that an Anime of VLR wouldn't work, but I'll only mention if you've played the game cause massive spoiler.
Shadna Otomi yes yes yes! I love NicoB! He introduced me to the games and I adore him. I think that when you see a particular plot detail, you'll realise why it wouldn't work because of the difference in perspective between the video game and anime. And yep that happens and it gets super depressing and super confusing super quick.
The game is called Zero Escape: Virtues last reward. But Id advice you to play the first game of the trilogy, Zero Escape: 999, before this one. They are in a bundle called ,,the nonary games" for steam and ps4 and PsVita I think. The third part is called Zero Time Dilemma
This should definetly be either a 27, 36 or 45 episode long anime!! Why those amount of episodes? Well, tell me, whats the Digital Root of those numbers?
because their job benefits from them looking as misleading as possible to what they're actually doing. clover services in a bar on the side i believe to distract from what she and alice *really* work for
Thanx ! This is in japanese... Aaaah *orgasm*... I'm not an english speaker, so it was just "NOP NEVER" for me to listen their voices in english. I just always fall in love with japanese dub. (And I usually really don't like english dub in games, then when I see FFXV or Fire Emblem Fates came out in EU with english dub and no choice to choose the japanese dub (OMG the original in this games) in options... I'm just very asshamed and bored...)
No, I think it was on purpose. If you knew from the beginning, the twist wouldn't work. If the game lined up with the OVA, however, there'd be a huge plothole.
J0n3zH Well, addressing the elephant in the room for the game vs the ova, they can't exactly reveal that major twist in what was essentially an extended trailer for a game all about the story now can they?
This game screams "Danganronpa" especially with the whole bunny/zero being the kind of the same concept as Monokuma and the whole escape concept already shown in 999. I´m still playing the game since it looks awesome and I loved 999.
Akaroism It's not really hard to be a million times better than Danganronpa. Honestly. Especially since it lifts a lot of things from pre existing franchises. Or well at least is "heavily inspired" in some cases.
Chihiro Fujisaki I've seen people read it under 20 hours. Besides most VNs on average are that long. Danganronpa tries to have a serious plot at points, but falls short of the mark on several occasions, nor knows where to go with it. It's mostly a fun murder mystery. Which after playing Umineko it isn't that intense. It's an okay fun game. I was more enthralled with Zero escape's over all plot. Also Danganronpa doesn't have all that zero escape has to offer. Zero escape has a lot of crazy psudoscience and actual science and manages to make it's whole conspiracy theory thing work. Danganronpa's fine, but I'm going to be fair to it and say it's an alright-average VN. I wouldn't say it would make my top ten. With Zero escape I'd consider it, if not top ten then at least top 15. But hey you're free to your opinion.
Ummm (old post notification lol) I really like both series I guess I could say that talking about the death of the characters danganronpa makes it a bit more "special" while in zero escape its just that someone died. About the length of the game I guess that's just personal preference, I'm also a VN fan and have read/played games such as Rewrite, Fate/Stay Night and Muv-Luv (Extra, Unlimited and Alternative) so long games aren't a problem for me, heck I probably enjoy them even more since I don't want them to end but thats just me. I think that with danganronpa is more concrete/simple on what it is. You get trapped, you try to find out whats going on, bad guy pushes people into killing each other, they do and you find out who they are, then you find the bad guy and finish the game. But this isnt a bad thing at all, its just a normal plot style and it still works. I love figuring out who did it, why, and coming up with multiple theories and finding out if Im right or wrong, I also like that i can actually get closer to them in the free times and get to know them better and the plot isnt horrible I enjoy it. Like i said I am also a fan, but I think that the zero escape series is deeper when it comes to the plot, not everything is so black and white, and it leaves you wondering what the heck just happened? even after you finish it. But well I'm still waiting for the conclusion of the danganronpa series with the anime and v3 coming up and I've of course finished VLR already (maybe the best in the ZE series?) and actually just finished playing zero time dilemma yesterday (an amazing game btw) and yet I still fill it lacks a decisive conclusion with some unanswered questions who knows if there will be more to the series in the future, I really hope so. But well thats just my opinion.

This OVA is actually pretty bad, it can‘t even be canon, because it has a lot of points that are just different from the game. Yes, I know that they shouldn‘t spoil something here, but they still showed wrong facts. Also, 40 seconds were left when Sigma and Phi escaped, then they talked a few minutes, then K and Clover came out. That time limit wasn‘t in the game. Seriously, this is a bad OVA. It‘s not even good as a teaser for the game, it‘s just... bad.
TENMYOUJI'S VOICE OH MY GOD
I got used to the English version, so hearing that voice made me laugh out loud XD They're so different
+A. Johnson exactly my reaction when I first heard the game in english after finishing it with the japanese voice-acting.
I found the Japanese dub less distracting in the game, because in the later playthroughs manually skipping dialogue becomes inevitable. The speech cutting isn't so distinct since you can't understand the language.
So this is where NicoB gets most of his thumbnails! And Jesus this is fast paced, they skipped the whole chromatic doors section and the puzzles!
zero lll is the same VA of monokuma from V3
Lemuel Marimon I KNEW THAT LITTLE SHIT SOUNDED FAMILIAR
Hope the large necklace, no shirt style becomes popular.
definetely

EndlessZoro It's only a aproximation;although i don't remember now my timeXD.
MySupertails I just finished the game at 100%, it took me only 20 hours....

@@bordeterre5234 but one of the main plot twists of the game obviously can't exist in anime form
I like how Zero III Is a ppeppy bunny in one of the most scariest games out there
God I wish we had a Zero escape anime adaptation, of course they had to change a couple of twist to make it work but im sure it would definitely work
Thank you for the English subs! Lol I started playing the game because I thought Toriumi Kousuke was in it. 😅 Imagine my surprise to discover that Sigma isn't voiced in the game. Happy to find this OVA though.
I love the fact that the song playing in the start is "Kimi no Yukue" by Boris. Always wanted them to do music for an anime!
6:45 Poor Luna
you know. the real major plot inaccuracy was that sigma couldn’t get his car to even start before he got kidnapped
that man was too busy writing a paper because his girlfriend dumped him and his laptop ate shit he didnt even get the luxury of a relaxing car drive before he got kidnapped 😭😭😭
Really nice translation, thank you guys.
Has anyone ever wondered why clover still has her nickname in this sequel? I mean, in 999, they all had nicknames because they didn't want to say their real names, and they named her clover because she was number 4.
Her real name is Clover. Kotaro Uchikoshi revealed that in a FAQ

I know others have already clarified it, but my headcannon was that she kept this codename to work with Alice...
Her name is Clover Field and snake's is Light Field
Great way to start the game! I mean it doesnt have same details but as a preview its good. Great they have the original voices. We need the 3rd game!
Sigma is so sexy omg with his BLACK HAIR AND BOTH EYES
SPOILERS:
Actually getting to hear Sigmas voice actor makes it much more obvious that him and K are both voiced by Daisuke Ono and the identity of who K is.
really? i thought it was kosuke toriumi voicing sigma in this
@@negarhythm ah okay. So daisuke is only for ZTD.
This doesnt work cuz its being told in the third person
You can't really do it in first person. It's unusual for an anime and will draw more attention to his appearance.
My boy sigma looking all fresh and oily.
I know everyone loves Subs, but I really liked the English Dub of this. Personally, I like Phi, Alice, Tenmyouji and Dio in English, but Clover sounds waaaay better in Japanese. I honestly didn't know it was a teaser.
I just thought it was a single episode of it.. :0

We need more animes like that
thank you. i watched it. its the begining of this second game :).
do you recommend to watch it before playing the 3DS game? or after? or before/after the 2 games?.
do you have it in hard subs?.
Whoaa... it's so fast paced.
Tenmyouji's voice doesn't fit him AT ALLL AAAAA, I guess I got used to his English voice in the game...
does anyone know what song is playing in the car when Sigma was driving? It sounds like something I know.

Zero is INCREDIBLY cute!
SOMEHOW Lagomorph is /less/ irritating in Japanese. How unusual

Zero still creeps the shit out of me
Gdzie dalsze odcinki
Ni ma
to jeden specjalny episod
jak chcesz wiedzieć co się działo później to ograj gry zaczynając od 999 (9 persons 9 hours 9 doors)
If you watch it it won't spoil anything, I assure you, you can watch it (Y)
Is a little weird to keep the twists in mind when everything is on screen
Also wish they remade the games with cutscenes like this instead of 3D like in Zero Time
2:35 She looks so deppressed (Phi)
CLOVER ? OMG
This should definetly be either a 27, 36 or 45 episode long anime!! Why those amount of episodes? Well, tell me, whats the Digital Root of those numbers?
why are the two women from 999 not wearing enough?

In the anime during the game, sigma should be old.
shhhhhhhh ...... spoilers ... good thing its just a promotional ova LOL
Rip. I actually got spoiled by this. Still struggling to resist the temptation to look at youtube comments where spoilers may be.
