Love these vids of yours - I first skied this in the 80s, in Dec 04 I spent several days skiing this down to the bottom of the chair lift with my eldest son, as it was the only bit of the mountain. Although I've been back since, a couple of weeks ago I got to do it with him again, as well as the rest of the mountain and the area over to Sedrun, as well as a few days in Disentis.

What an amazing story that is! Funny about it is that my dad could nearly tell the same story. He skied that mountain with his dad when he was younger and 2 years ago we went there together. You can see him in the video, i think he is doing not too bad ;)

@@nonstopskiing he's doing real well. Just to add to the coincidence, I'm currently editing some video on Gemsstock from our recent visit where my son is the one seen skiing. Where in 04 we would just ski straight down our last visit was far more sedate. I'd be interested in your and your dad's views on the changes in Andermatt (& skiing) over the years

He told me that in his opinion the village and mostly the other side towards Sedrun changed a lot. But the Gemsstock itself is nearly the same as a few dacades ago. Espacially the old "standing" gondula hasn't changed at all. That results in a retro feeling which we think is pretty cool.
