What an amazing story that is! Funny about it is that my dad could nearly tell the same story. He skied that mountain with his dad when he was younger and 2 years ago we went there together. You can see him in the video, i think he is doing not too bad ;)

@@nonstopskiing he's doing real well. Just to add to the coincidence, I'm currently editing some video on Gemsstock from our recent visit where my son is the one seen skiing. Where in 04 we would just ski straight down our last visit was far more sedate. I'd be interested in your and your dad's views on the changes in Andermatt (& skiing) over the years

He told me that in his opinion the village and mostly the other side towards Sedrun changed a lot. But the Gemsstock itself is nearly the same as a few dacades ago. Espacially the old "standing" gondula hasn't changed at all. That results in a retro feeling which we think is pretty cool.

Ich war nie im Skikurs, vielleicht liegt es daran ;D Wichtig ist stets alles unter Kontrolle zu haben, wenn das der Fall ist sind auch für unerfahrene Fahrer als riskant empfundene Fahrmanöver kein Problem. Aber ich gebe schon zu, das am Ende war ein bisschen zu viel des Guten.

The slopes are groomed but there are so many opportunities to go freeriding as well, lots of untouched snow on that mountain.

At the beginning you can go left for red slope or right side for black/yellow, the yellow one isn't prepped.

It's definetely an easy blue one! Maybe the start is a bit difficult but the majority is very easy. Greetings nonstopskiing :)

Exactly! The conditions were pretty good thinking about that its just the beginning of the season. Enjoy your days in Mayrhofen, hopefuly you have nice weather just as we did ;)
