How To Tie Euro Nymphing Anchor Fly - for Beginners - "Baby Got Bead" fly

  • Beginners guide to tying an awesome anchor fly for Euro Nymphing, by a beginner. This has proven to be a great anchor fly as well as a really good on the lake or as a jig. What I love about this fly is the action it gets from the rabbit hair and how quickly it sinks with it’s sparse body. I’ve been using this while the rivers are running high and fast from the Spring rain and Winter run-off. You don't have to be a great tier to catch fish - and it's a blast to catch fish on something you tied! I hope you give it a try - let me know in the comments if you do.
    For the experts out there - I know I made tons of mistakes - this was to inspire others to give it a try.

    Baby Got Bead Materials List:
    Hook: Hanak 400BL - Size 12 (any jig hook and sizes 10, 12, and 14)
    Thread: Olive UTC 70
    Bead: Copper Tungsten - 4.0 mm (I like 3.8, 4.0, and 4.4mm beads for this one)
    Body: 2 strands Pearl Krystal Flash (Play around with colors and material)
    Ribbing: UTS Ultra Wire - Silver, size Small
    Hackle: Hareline Crosscut Rabbit Strips used as dubbing - Olive (play with colors - all kinds work great!)
    Collar: Fluorescent Orange UTC 70
    Finish: UV Clear Fly Finish - I used Loon Flow
