It's a great place to explore. I went there two years ago and was able to walk through all the abandoned buildings. Just some info from present day (may / 2024) on our last trip to Balaton a week ago, the whole area is now guarded as private property from both entry points by security personell, cameras, etc. It's not possible to explore as before.
I was there on 1st of May 2022 for one day. The locals do know this place, they go there and walk around./Tam sem bil 1. maja 2022 in sicer en dan. Domačini poznajo ta kraj, tja hodijo na sprehode oz. raziskovanja.

Might be. Currently the base is closed, maybe because of security reasons or Hungary might plan to do something with this airfield.
