I hope we get a video on Wei Pai, my aunt knew him back in the 70s-80s! She talked about how tragic he was as an actor, due to his Tourette's and how he wanted to be apart of the main Venom crew. But due to his condition, he wasnt suited for action scenes. And become a big Asian Drama actor in Taiwan. She was one of his makeup artists and from time to time, carried his medication. I feel like Wei Pai doesnt get enough love, is forgotten about. But in every role SB role hes in? I feel like his acting steals the show!
Philip Kwok AKA number 4 The Lizard or as I call him Chinese Method Man. (Real talk Meth looks just like him.) But he is my second favorite venoms mob member
Before Lo Mang started performing in films, he was an accountant for Chang Cheh's film company. When Chang was filming Shaolin Temple (1976), there was a call for people, that can perform martial arts, to audition for roles in the film. It was at that time that Lo met Ti Lung who insisted he try out. Lo states: "Chang opened the training group." " Mr. Ti Lung is my kung fu brother and senior in Chang's group of actors." As a result, Lo became part of Chang's fourth generation team; affectionately known as the Venom Mob. According to Lo, Chang treated everyone like his own family members. "He will let you use your own style or performing." Lo doesn't have a favorite film, "but the one most memorable to me is The Five Venoms (1978). It was the first time I was a lead actor" states Lo. In most films, a reviewer wrote, that Lo plays characters who are impetuous, "seldom thinks before he acts." I like The Five Venoms. . . .
One thing for viewers to look out for with the Venom Mob movies is the number of moves between cuts in the fight scenes . I seem to recall some scenes with 20 + moves between cuts.
Lo Meng was my favorite venom👍🏾 because I enjoyed the hand to hand and animal styles more so than the weapon play and the power and capability he exuded always made it feel like he was invincible and the man to beat. That Hung Gar def gave him a tough bestial persona for real. Always hated and was curious why his character was always the one to “Catch a bad one” But your explanation made it clear and it kind makes sense even tho I still don’t like it 😂
Philip kwok is my #1 favorite venom he is so sick with weapons! Lo Mang #2 my favorite his style hand to hand combat is superb he often dies a lot but it makes up his dope strength on the screen
REALLY, I NEVER TOOK LO FOR AN INTELLECTUAL. I USE TO CATCH THESE EVERY SATURDAY, WHEN I HAD THE EL REY CHANNEL. CURRENT CABLE PROVIDER DON'T HAVE THAT CHANNEL. POWER. 🙂✌
You know, Bruce Lee did so little material that I actually think Mr Lo is an equal to him as my personal favourite. As for Wei Pai... I don’t have the time of day for him. I never knew about his Tourette’s, which makes it even more mind boggling that he was even in the Shaw Brothers universe. The Magnificent Ruffians is a movie I recognize from seeing it 40+ years ago but only because I remember Lo being hungry 😂. The 5 element ninjas has always looked super cheesy to me so I don’t think I’ve seen it. I loved his badassery in Golden Arm, but his role as the toad is my favourite. There’s something about that movie with the intro and the creepy music that grabbed me. The 16 year old me was very saddened by the fate of this wonderful altruistic character who was doing the right thing. I also have a personal affinity to the Lion vs Lion movie. I can’t understand why it wasn’t a hit with all of the crazy good fights, including a giant straight razor and strop being wielded against him 👀.
You’re very welcome. I’m always eager for the Lo Mang subject. It always bothered me a bit about his usual fate in the movies, and his treatment in the 5DV was disturbing to me at the time because I thought for sure he was going to be the hero.
Way much better than the so called American martial arts Garbage and terrible Hollywood imitations courtesy invincible action clowns Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Chuck Norris, Wesley Snipes Jean claude van damme, Steven Frederick Seagull, mel Gibson and Bruce Willis who rely on autoaim when they fire a weapon that cannot hit a target practice and deliver ridiculous punch lines and parody catchphrases plus ridiculous movie titles
Ugh! There is a mistake at 8:19. I am truly sorry everyone! @$#!

Lo Mang did not play Hu Wei Chin in " Two Champions " he played Tung Chen Chen
@@BlackExplorer99 that is correct. Hu Wei Chin was played by Chiang Sheng

Those 80s white superhero martial arts movies were atrocious to say the least, I don't know why so many love those crap movies
