Hi Dr.Dray, (sorry for this being a long question)an esthetician on RUclips mentioned this to remove blackheads and I was wondering your opinion on it? And if you ever heard of this method before? Method: Exfoliate with face wash using sponge, then apply hot washcloth on nose for 5 min to steam nose, put on hydrogen peroxide 3%before it dries put on jojoba oil or avocado oil (any kind of oil of your choice basically) and do this at night 2-3 times a week. Apparently this technique dissolves blackheads.
If she doesn't answer, check out her videos on sebaceous filaments, which are what most people call blackheads - I think she has a much, much gentler method. I cleared mine on my own by using a foaming cleanser, and I follow Dr dray's general skincare advice, I almost never have them anymore, no hydrogen peroxide needed. That method sounds like a lot of nonsense, tbh, but I am not an expert. It's just very harsh & seems based on some unscientific ideas. That method sounds like you disinfect your face & then do an oil cleanse, and oil cleanses never pull out all the filaments, they just attract excess sebum and pull it off the skin. Also, many oils might make the situation worse - jojoba is generally safe for any skin, but I would not use coconut or olive, since those are associated with clogging more.
Why would you risk your skin barrier applying hidrogen peroxide (specially if it's not formulated for the face skin) when you could apply many other ingredients that will control/diminish any blackheads. Dr. Dray has tones of content on that.
Hot wash cloth….NEVER! That is the fastest way to end up with broken capillaries. Definitely a no on the hydrogen peroxide as well. This is bad advice.

Isopropyl myristate breaks me out so bad. It may not be true for everyone but it’s horrible for me! Even in cleansers or wash off masks my pores are clogged. The tret I used from curology doesn’t contain that. The one I got from a derm broke me out which explains a lot. I avoid this in all skincare if it’s at the top of the list! I do think the percentage matters
I discovered your channel just recently and find it very informative. I would appreciate your advice on introducing retinol after 10 years of Biorecherche Lotion P50. I've used it for acne, really helps, no irriation ever, but I want to tackle my wrinkles too. How careful should I be with retinol since my skin has been very friendly with AHA and BHA exfoliants?
This rollout of the Ambi fade cream is a bit disappointing. They should have added Azaleic Acid, and Alpha Arbutin to the cream along with the Niacinimide and Licorice Root. It’s already getting rotten review. I feel bad for them but I won’t be trying it.
Thank u for this video! I have 52 yo, Asian deep tan skin with hyperpigmentation (sunspots in cheeks and melasma "mustache ") . I've stayed away from HQ because of side effects . Ive tried every ingredient on the market (drugstore and mid-priced brands) with no luck. I use Vit C and sunscreen SPF 50 every morning, tret every night, and Aha 1x week.
The Retinol one looks decent ingredients wise, but the Fade one is so disappointing, has niacinamide (which is good) but has ascorbic acid at a % that will only act as a very superficial antioxidant, very meh product.
I still have a tube of the older version, expiring in July haha. But I haven’t used it because I’m using tretinoin and it is already working really well
So we know I am supposed to be going to bed early to make up for the time change this weekend but what am I doing at 2:12 a.m. in the morning, watching a Dr.Dre video because I just had to know what was up with the new Ambi fade cream! Your timing was great Dr.Dre! So, all next week my circadian rhythm and all that other good stuff is going to be off, quite off! But I enjoyed every minute of this video and learned so much. I still have some of the Ambi with the hydroquinone in it to finish up!😊😊 see you guys in a little to watch the Saturday vlog.
@Sable 711 the original ambi fade cream worked. For me, it could fade a sun spot dramatically, but only to a point. It could never quite fade it in its entirety. Still, it was amazing stuff. Unfortunately, I doubt this new product will ever compete with it.
Hi Dr Dray! A follow up on your video earlier on tretinoin and hair growth, do you think that tretinoin could possibly reverse effects of laser hair reduction on the face too?
This is so disappointing!! I am a faithful Ambi user and was so upset with the change in ingredients. CAN YOU PLEASE SUGGEST A PRODUCT THAT'S CLOSE TO AMBI PLEASE???
Walmart carries Ambi. May try the serum. What do you think of the prescription Agency line compared to going to a dermatologist and getting tretinonin?
Retinol may be OK but its the other ingredients and oils they're putting in the product that's clogging pores causing more breakouts so you're just spinning your wheels. Especially those with oily skin.
I’ve been using this for a week only on my dark spots..now my skin is dry and dark where I applied the serum..should I apply it evenly on my entire face or only on my spots?..I’m used to the old fade cream
I'm confused...your other video you said put moisturizer on your face THEN put retinolnon your face. This video you're saying "apply retinol product to a "clean face". You have soooo many videos recommending sooo many products, it's overwhelmimg.
Why can't we just have a warning label like cigarettes and the choice to use hydroquinone so many people especially poc struggle with hyperpigmentation and it was a miracle for me to clear up my skin i hate this ban
I miss OBAGI before they took out the active. UGH. Although ambi erased my scars , it gave me the worst cystic acne as a result of the other ingredients. I will definitely use this on my hand and feet as my face and neck crave more medical grade. Thanks for always keeping us in the know
The advertisement for the Ambi Fade Cream says it is for people of color. Is that true? If so, I will stick with the CeraVe skin renewing retinol serum.
Not necessarily but it is a black created brand and for years it's one of the few brands that was created and targeted towards people of color/the black community.

I don’t think it will fade bruises because a bruise is blood that is collected underneath the skin and fades as it heals.
I was so sad when they reformulated this😭😭💔still have a bottle left tho
Isopropyl myristate breaks me out so bad. It may not be true for everyone but it’s horrible for me! Even in cleansers or wash off masks my pores are clogged. The tret I used from curology doesn’t contain that. The one I got from a derm broke me out which explains a lot. I avoid this in all skincare if it’s at the top of the list! I do think the percentage matters
@drdray I started using this product last week and have had swollen eyes .. is this not for the eye area at all??
Can this be used on the body?
Dr. Dray announced this a couple of years ago. I stocked up
Can you help a sis out? 😅 💰
Sounds promising! Thanks, Dr Dray! Happy Friday
Is the fade serum to be used before moisturizer or is it all in one?
You should only be using a small amount of the serum. Then follow up with your moisturizer.
Oh I wish they had not put retinol in it! I wanted it to be liked Faded with licorice root…😢
not sure about this product, there are quite a lot of low rating for it on Amazon atm
Thank you for all the great information that you provide for us! 🥰
Do you recommend retinol for people with sun sensitive conditions like lupus?
I’d be interested in Dr Dray’s response. I have systemic and have used tretinoin for months with no obvious problems.
Hi Dr Dray so excited to be here happy Friday I live for this ❤️
Morning!
Is this product okay for sensitive skin? Where is it sold?
So informative, thank you so much ! We appreciate you so much Dr
I am sorry the new ambi fade cream is not working
I still have a tube of the older version, expiring in July haha. But I haven’t used it because I’m using tretinoin and it is already working really well
You never disappoint. Loved this
So we know I am supposed to be going to bed early to make up for the time change this weekend but what am I doing at 2:12 a.m. in the morning, watching a Dr.Dre video because I just had to know what was up with the new Ambi fade cream!
I stocked up on the old one containing Hydroquinone. ❤
Same!
Has it worked?
@Sable 711 the original ambi fade cream worked. For me, it could fade a sun spot dramatically, but only to a point. It could never quite fade it in its entirety. Still, it was amazing stuff. Unfortunately, I doubt this new product will ever compete with it.
Hi Dr Dray! A follow up on your video earlier on tretinoin and hair growth, do you think that tretinoin could possibly reverse effects of laser hair reduction on the face too?
I have not seen that happen nor has it it been reported
Must see video. I had no idea ambi's ingredients changed and hydroquinone is excluded. Not a fan of retinol.
This is so disappointing!! I am a faithful Ambi user and was so upset with the change in ingredients. CAN YOU PLEASE SUGGEST A PRODUCT THAT'S CLOSE TO AMBI PLEASE???
Ambi fade never worked for me
As a guy, I don't have a lot of freckles just tiny ones, I was thinking of trying the topicals Faded one, should I try that one or this one from Ambi?
Can I use prescription hydroquinone cream with The New Ambi?
Is the Ambi soap good ?
Hey Dr. Dray,
Would you consider making a video on prostaglandin analogues for androgenetic alopecia? E.g. latanoprost
Common dosing and risks
Good idea
Walmart carries Ambi. May try the serum. What do you think of the prescription Agency line compared to going to a dermatologist and getting tretinonin?
Retinol may be OK but its the other ingredients and oils they're putting in the product that's clogging pores causing more breakouts so you're just spinning your wheels. Especially those with oily skin.
I just picked this product up when I saw the video
I hate change is the new updated version still the same as the original? Ambi is my fav go to regarding dark spots
It’s not the same
@@Sisima13 thanks 🙏🏽
Ambi fade cream cleared much of my sun damage
I’ve been using this for a week only on my dark spots..now my skin is dry and dark where I applied the serum..should I apply it evenly on my entire face or only on my spots?..I’m used to the old fade cream
This is happening to my eyes from it! My eyelids 😢 they’re like sandpaper and darkening…
TGIF. Hi Dr Dray! Happy Friday & everyone watching🌷🌻I used Ambi back in the day, on sun spots on arms
Happy Friday
❤❤❤❤❤!!!
Retinol, niacinamide, ceramides, collesterol, zinc glutamate
Niacinamide, aloe vera,
I watched a video about dead sea salt, it said that dead sea salt baths can help treat psoriasis, is this true?
I miss OBAGI before they took out the active. UGH. Although ambi erased my scars , it gave me the worst cystic acne as a result of the other ingredients. I will definitely use this on my hand and feet as my face and neck crave more medical grade. Thanks for always keeping us in the know
Dr Dray, while on hormone replacement therapy, is it okay with tretinoin and azalelic acid face ointment
How much is it been sold, just the AmbI
Ambi is owned by Johnson & Johnson. I have no doubt J&J puts a lot of r&d into their products.
The advertisement for the Ambi Fade Cream says it is for people of color. Is that true? If so, I will stick with the CeraVe skin renewing retinol serum.
Not necessarily but it is a black created brand and for years it's one of the few brands that was created and targeted towards people of color/the black community.
My mum used to use ambi to get rid of what turned out to be freckles, my mum had very fair skin, it worked for her, she would not put it on her whole face, just the spots, and this was in the early 70s, I started using it to fade spot scarring perfect for me?
Adapalene hasn’t changed my little patch of realllllyyy old pregnancy mask on my forehead. Everyday for 12 weeks so far. Is Trentinoin that much better? I don’t really want a prescription.
adapalene was designed specifically for acne
@@SueRosalie Well, so was Retin-A. ( the first acne treatment) Dr Dray used Adapalene and never had acne.
I’m going to look into this retinol on non tret days the formula sounds amazing.
Happy Friday everyone xo
Happy Friday
