Albert was a very respected man and many of the faces in canning town and custom house would of turned out if albert was ever in trouble.

I've heard that Albert Reading was absolutely fearless and could look after himself and when Roy Shaw came into his Pub and started trying to do things that was disrespecting Albert and his customers ie locals. Basically Albert supposedly i know you're a hard man but please don't make my customer's feel uneasy. He apparently said if this is personable then can we take it outside. His customer's couldn't believe it but fortunately Roy Shaw respected Albert and actually had a pint on the house and then insisted on paying for his drinks. When Roy Shaw left the Pub all his customer's said do you know who that was and Albert said of course i know who he is that's why i had to do something quickly before it could have turned nasty..
Albert Reading seriously feared throughout the UK and abroad.
Not just London or Canning Town.
If he couldn't spark you with a punch and he had tremendous power then he'd throw acid in your face.
I'm not surprised anyone backed down from him.
Sort of fella who if he's your mate you've got one for life. If he's your enemy he'd track you down, on his own and seriously hurt you.
He took it to a different level and amazingly worked alone.
He didn't need a firm. He was a firm on how own.
My Dad give Albert his first job as a bouncer in the Tidal basin pub years ago. Lovely family know his sister very well Joice.

I became addicted to reading which is a good thing, from jail. I've stopped now because I'm out and don't seem to have the time no more and social media has kind of took it's place.

Albert was a seriously hard man and one you didn’t want as an enemy. There’s a RUclips interview with him and you only need to look in to his eyes to know he means what he says.

Been following for a while but this would be my first comment. Your on point mate and love the way you do. Do you know any stories about black Buggsey? He was out of Mile End way. Had a club in brick Lane 80s and was conected d to Albert Redding and others from Canning Town.

It's a funny old world, I didn't know Bill well, he was only around a short while in the early 70's before I believe he ended up nicked for something along with Tommy Hole.
But he was around for a while and had a reputation then. He knocked on the door one early morning and wanted a drink. I poked my head out of the window and saw him, can I get a drink he asked, Bill it's 8 o'clock in the morning I said we don't open till 11
If you want a cup of tea and some breakfast we can go down the caff I'll treat you.
I think he had more a proper drink in mind but we had a long chat and I came to the conclusion that he was a bit unhappy with things and there was a lot of good in him even if for sure he had moments when he was lets say not happy and could be frightening
A few people I have known who had been inside said he was very kind to them in his own way so there was a lot of good in him along with the bad
Can't say I ever met Albert so really can't comment on him but he did have a reputation as someone who could look after himself and seemingly had a lot of respect

Don't know where you get your info but i remember the stories at the time, and your accounts are pretty much what was going around at the time. the British Flag is a blast from the past!! The story at the time BR or AR took a shot at Bill and the gun didn't go off and they gave him the bullet. Probably Chinese whispers. Its a long time ago i might have got that the wrong way around, but that was the story. Damn that was a lot of years ago! I heard this story before about a guy who borrowed his mates car and did a robbery in it. Don't know if it's this guy or not, I'm not really familiar with bill the bomb apart from what you have said about him and I guess his not the only one whos done it.

The reason I ask is I was talking to a pal a bit older than us and he was weighed off at the Bailey for AR first offence, anyway he was seventeen and got handcuffed to this guy Bill, he said all the screws were terrified when they got to the Scrubbs of this Bill , and that he was laughing at the screws and said " I'll have the keys to this place in a month" He's pretty sure it was your fella but he got allocated to Ayelsbury F and G wing so he only saw him for a short while. do the dates match up Yammy? I was into my Brazilian jui jitzu .. but things started to go wrong wen u had one jab for that cold they locked us down for. Since then it's been one thing after another . It's all linked.. but at least now they have admitted to me I had a bad reaction to it... but I'm one of thousands.. . Its crazy how many people are in the same boat as Me.. through just having that .. for a p##y cold ... plus some havnt had it diagnosed early enough.. pity mone.. I honestly feel my brothers watching over me.. my angel.. . But honestly im ok.. . I wouldn't even tell anyone about it if it was too late for treatment.... incase people think I'm looking for sympathy... the opposite... if anyone feels somethings not rught get to the doctors.. but I try and be positive .. and I do believe the mind is a powerful tool... anyway thanks love.. and I'll keep u posted. We are probably all in the camp that in a stand up row Bill's going to come out on top but as you say in your other video on Albert and I quote if he thi ls there's even a little bit of doubt, he ain't gonna give you the chance. I think Mark was from the East End. He did security Ministry of Sound. I used to see him in Bethal Green and Canning Town all the time in and around the gyms and pubs. He was mates with Tony Tucker. Haven't seen him since the mid 90's.

Yes he had used the one shot in the ceiling. What I'm more puzzled by is why after this when they still haven't sorted things out Albert lends Bill his car. That makes no sense to me. Before it all kicked off I could get. After they shook hands fine. But why would you lend your car to someone you had just shot at?

@yammybtv nothing to be sorry for. I think you always try your best to get it right, you are always pretty clear when you have just heard it, or when you know it to be fact. And you are never too proud to come back and say I got this wrong and put things straight and relook at things. We have to remember a lot of this stuff happen a long time ago and people forget things and dates and times get muddled. Also you can have a number of people present and we all saw it a different way on the day. We all remember it slightly different for one reason or another. There are always variables. That's life. Your channel is still one of my favourites
