As far fetched of a role and also how underused she was, Carolee Carmello killed this song and should have received a Tony nomination for this. I saw her live and she is one of those rare people who sounds exactly like you hear her on recordings: so loud and crystal clear.
@@cwendolly it was a brilliant experience. I’ll never forget how it felt to play Alice on stage!! My advice is just go all out and give it everything you’ve got
I had to perform this as an understudy for 5 shows at my college. It’s honestly one of the funnest roles I’ve ever played. She goes from bubbly to letting all of the bottled frustrations out
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah A woman waits for marriage A woman waits for children She waits for her big Mal to come back home At five o'clock Or six o'clock 'Til it's nine o'clock And there's no o'clock to ease the pain Pain she can't explain As the woman waits in the dark For a spark that once was there That isn't there, not ever there! Alone and Waiting and wailing Whining and waning Wanting and wasting and woe Waiting, fixating Debating, lose weighting Ice skating, lacating- and so We wait to laugh We wait to cry We wait for every hopeful breath Waiting for a lousy, rotting, Vicious, rancid, fetid, Frenzied, fatal death
Does anyone if Debra Jo Rupp can sing, I think she'd be perfect for the part of Alice if they ever have another tour or bring it back on Broadway or make a movie version of it
my school is doing a rendition of the addams family musical n im gonna audition 4 alice. im currently binge watching n listening 2 videos of her to learn her mannerisms n such. wish me luck !

3:08 Morticia looks so proud of her.
She does!! I noticed that, especially after their scene with the whole secret keeping. Gurlie was finally letting it all out 😂
I’ve never found a version that does the song justice such as this. It’s an amazing number and this is my inspo for my performance of Alice.
how was it? i just got the role, and i’m so scared!

It's called acting in character I guess. Alice is supposed to be this mild 1950s housewife who writes poetry, than she goes berserk.
"I don't understand, it's just a California Merlot!" lmao
Those were some insane vocals! Can't wait to see if anyone in my school can pull that off!
Carolee Carmello is amazing, I love her last belt
"It's okay, Lucas. Parents do it. Live with it." I can watch this 20 times, and it will still be funny.

A woman waits for marriage
A woman waits for children
She waits for her big Mal to come back home
At five o'clock
Or six o'clock
'Til it's nine o'clock
And there's no o'clock to ease the pain
Pain she can't explain
As the woman waits in the dark
For a spark that once was there
That isn't there, not ever there!
Alone and
Waiting and wailing
Whining and waning
Wanting and wasting and woe
Waiting, fixating
Debating, lose weighting
Ice skating, lacating- and so

We wait to cry
We wait for every hopeful breath
Waiting for a lousy, rotting,
Vicious, rancid, fetid,
Frenzied, fatal death
laila galarsa THANK YOU!
This Is the only version of full disclosure and waiting that hasn’t been terrible and made me cringe omg
I feel like Whitney Houston can play this part very well... If she was alive (r.i.p my idol)
AMAZING. I play Alice rn and omg this gives me goosebumps every time.
How do I inject that last note directly into my bloodstream?
I was disappointed she didn’t say “NO! WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF A GAME! SO BUTTON YOUR LIP AND SIT YOUR ASS DOWN!”
This was absolutely fucking amazing
How the hell am I going to do this at my very Christian school ?
I somewhat feel this. I’m doing this musical at my school and my mom invited my VERY Christian grandparents to come watch this 💀
Lucas! Parents do it. Get over it.
@RosesNightengales it's kinda funny too how her voice is high all the rest of the show but now it goes pretty low, huh?

I'm playing Alice and my director said to use Kitty Foreman as inspiration 😂
Holy moly I love this
My director is friends with her, our class got to meet her, shes so nice!
JEALOUS
Im speechless. What a talent !!!
This is so much better live than the recorded version!
