I'll be 60 in three weeks, and the Queers rock! In 1977, I went to the plasma center in Columbus, Ohio for my $15 donation and was second in line for Ramones tickets at the Sugar Shack. That $15 got me my ticket, and beer for the night. Try that today! Tommy was still the drummer the first time I saw them.
These guys and Screeching Weasel accounted for probably half the music I listened to from ages 14 to 17. Love coming back to this every once in a while for the mid 90s time warp. A copy of this was actually one of the first videos I ever downloaded on the internet back then.
@@muffystopheles BAD ASS! And good morning to you. I am 38 myself, and about to go to the skatepark. I am making a playlist of all my favorite Queers songs for my trip. I am a teenager stuck in this weird aging body, but at least I am still having fun right?!
RIGHT!!! Man I have been preaching this fact for like 18 years( ya I'm old, almost 30)!! I was a punk rocker growing up and I was the only punker I knew with long hair, not spiked or dyed, and non punk looking clothing. But everyone still gave me props for being hardcore!! PUNKER4LIFE!!!
I'm right there with ya. Was so fed up with my hair my sophomore year. I got so fed up with people complimenting it all the time so I CHOPPED THAT STUFF OFF and donated to Wigs for Kids. Don't bother with Locks of Love; if you're low-income they don't give a damn about you.
very skater rock.. recently I've got into the groovie ghoulies. absolutely love them as they're very Ramone ish.. saw Ramones live here in Glasgow..and for decades been a massive fan.. this is a very pleasant wee bop.😊👍
I love this band..i had the privilege to add this to my list of great punk bands that i have seen in concert. Not only did i get to see them perform on the 2/23/12 but i got to talk to Joe and even sign a rare album that not even he owned any more. Joe Queer!! Joe Queer!! Joe Queer!!!
I Saw them live during last summer supporting Marky Ramone and i had never heard them prior to then, and t the ed of the night i became an instant fan.
i heard the best quote from brian fallon of the gaslight anthem he said " about the age of 16 i started to think it was ridcolous to wear studded leather jackets and put my hair up in a perfect mohawk because thats just another suit, another uniform , punk rock has to many rules "
While the Danzig-era Misfits will always be my favorite punk band of all time, the Queers are the most underrated.. some of the catchiest melodies and they managed to perfectly blend the Beach Boys with the Ramones.
My buddies just played with The Queers a few weeks ago. Unforunately I had to work and couldn't go. Man...it would've been fucking awesome to see these dudes live.
Friend emailed me this link because I date back to CBGB and the late 70's. This tune is serious old school punk - definitely Ramones influenced, some Brit influence - can hear Buzzcocks, Pistols, esp. guitar solo. Heavy Beach Boys harmony - nice. Used to be a band back then called The Queers as well - same guys?
Check out the video for A Global Threat "Cut Ups" you might dig it. Other than that, keep checking back to see what we're posting and you may find some new favorites.
Ok, so I've been out of touch I guess. I knew these guys in New Hampshire back in the late 80's. Greetings from the trumpet player from No Fun...Rodeo Dave says HI as well. Glad you guys are still out there doing your thing.
I love the sound. I listen to a lot of old-school Green Day and Rancid. Their tunes were similar in the early 90s - well at least for Green Day. The Queers are awesome.
Yep. I heard it once on a TV show many years ago (and I liked it) but I didn't remember the name of the song or the band. Suddenly I found it on this RUclips video.
go to BlankTV and start clicking on bands. among the better ones i've heard in the past few years: The Briggs, A Global Threat, Bad Reaction, Big D and the Kids Table, Street Dogs, The Spookshow. Go to site, browse freely. You'll be surprised how much great music is out there that you're missing. rock on, sunset BlankTV
I remember seeing Queers, FYP, Furious George open for Marky Ramone back in 1997 in San Diego, great show! Marky was a blast to chat and joke with and Todd from FYP snuck me in.
I met one of the Queers when I was drining a cab. Cool guy. They were really strong in the Boston punk music scene. Despite the more pop aspects of this tune, they have real punk roots. No Surfin' in Dorchester Bay is right! no waves there... rock on, kids...
uh they were from the 80's. "The Queers were punk-rockers from New Hampshire led by singer-guitarist Joe King. They began in the early 1980s with a string of singles and EPs"
Whoa! No need to be insulting. I'm just being honest. I don't think 21st Century Breakdown qualifies as pop rock anymore than The Queers count as hardcore punk. But in regards to their latest three albums, I largely do have to agree with you.

I would have killed to see the Ramones. I'm 30 now and remember begging my dad to take me to see them before Joey died.
Wow. Nicely done.
What's that story got to do with the queers? I bet it makes you feel cool telling that right, tell it at all the get togethers?
Not to shabby
So you’re like 71 now.

Middle of Summer. 1996. Watching MTV2. This video came on. Life changed.
Fuck yeah first place i saw this too. That first three yesr span of M2 was legit!
Love this band... How simple and fun can a band be.
This tune gets stuck in my head constantly.
So, you're 12 years older now but that doesn't mean shit! I am sure you are still blasting The Queers, right?!
@@bugnut82 most definitely!!

There's just something about the song
"all screwed up" hits me so hard, and the beat is incredible! It's like the queer's anthem!
Hi-top Chucks and bubblegum 😍

How are you doing these days?
Damn you're like 43 now
They wear their influences on their t-shirt!!! Could seriously be an undiscovered Ramones song!!
the residents get so much less play ...
Just listened to Houston we have a problem for the first time and now I can't stop listening to this band. How could I not see this before?... WOW
These days your grandmother might be old enough to have been a punk.
these days your grandmother might be old enough to remember a legitimate presidency!
@@johnturtle6649 🤡
Ha. I was thinking these days someone's great grandma was a punk rocker but this comment was left 10 years ago. >
Not that hair matters but I'm proud to be a girl who had the balls to get a mohawk
You're a fuckin awesome piece of punk rock girl ❤️
It's such a liberating feeling to shave your head when you're a girl
That’s pretty hot
I am not ashamed to be a guy who had balls that grew a mohawk!

Hey! It's an MTX reference and a cameo by Dr. Frank at about 1:04! This video went from sweet to freaking awesome.
Ramones meets The Beach Boys ,the Queers were always great.

Yummy yummy!
I Saw them live during last summer supporting Marky Ramone and i had never heard them prior to then, and t the ed of the night i became an instant fan.
This song speaks to me on a personal level.
I always loved the queers :) and always dedicate this song to my punk friends
i heard the best quote from brian fallon of the gaslight anthem he said " about the age of 16 i started to think it was ridcolous to wear studded leather jackets and put my hair up in a perfect mohawk because thats just another suit, another uniform , punk rock has to many rules "
This song makes me proud to be a punk rock girl:)
Why? Are you "yummy yummy"?
These guys are great. Played on the same bill with them once. (twice?)
I went to the ATL show too. They (and Screeching Weasel) totally blew me away! I was able to meet Joe and get a picture with him... super cool dude.
never heard of this band before. they're amazing
Super - absolutely love this! And there's a very good reference (musically) to The Beach Boys. Superduper!!
I love this song! You guys rock! I blast this is my car and dance while driving down the road, thanks for making it

I did not expect a competent solo in this song. Plus points.
See you in Gainesville, FL Tuesday night!! Lets rip it up fellas¡!!
Shout out to the random girl I met on Yahoo chat, that suggested I download this song on Napster, back when I was 16 years old.
this song is too short :( love it, punks ffs!!
the Queers are an American punk rock institution. Better than anybody says, really.
Me and Dr. Frank have both decided that we love them more than toast.
More than toast.
That, is saying a lot.
But less than a staple gun..
yaaaay! The Queeeers!
