Everyone in PNG during the war should be proud of there endeavours and courage. The Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels played a huge roll in the efforts to turn the tide. Lovely Country, Lovely people. Tenk yu tru Wantoks
So many PNG natives took so many risks and made so many sacrifices during the war - they truly are fantastic people!
As a member of PNGVR since 1970, (while in Port Moresby) I add that I also Served in the RAAF as a Fireman-Aircraft in Townsville after completion of my Training in Adelaide and Point Cook East of Melbourne. I was Posted to Townsville, then Brisbane, where I currently live in Acacia Ridge 4110. It was the best of times! (Honestly! - I am 76 now, chasing 77!
Thank you for your service! My great uncle was NGVR when they first formed - he was one of the men who was captured in Rabaul & died onboard the Montevideo Maru. I have enormous respect for all men who served as members of NGVR & PNGVR!
WOW! Did YOU see those WW1 Bayonets on the Rifles near 5.31.18 minutes? - I owned one before! It was almost a SWORD!!!
They were pretty impressive!
