I am a licensed Esthetician currently working on completing my biology pre-nursing associate’s degree. I was super confused if I was taking the right path to becoming a medical esthi or Esthetician nurse so your video was definitely very helpful. Hopefully next fall i will be in nursing school.

Wow thank you so much for this video. I am a nurse located in Chicago and have been working for about 2 years now. I only have experience in geriatrics and have been wondering what I can do to get into the aesthetics field. Literally have been considering finding an OR position in plastics to get my foot in the door and you just pushed me to give it a shot. Im currently in nursing school and I have an esthetician license, I will probably stop my waxing job because I have to focus on nursing school & my nursing job 🫠 I deff wanna take the OR route! I have been looking at med spas around me to work for as a receptionist at least so I can get my foot in the door.

I live in NOVA and i was looking at places to be certified and take some beginner classes. I’m a full time nurse in the hospital but i don’t really have procedural experience. I think finding you was a sign that i should start this year to move on to aesthetics! I feel stuck at my hospital job tbh

This is the exact path I was planning to take I’m so happy it worked out for you!!! I am about to be in my last semester of nursing school and am waiting to find out if my final preceptorship (practicum) will be in the OR. Trying this week to start looking for jobs working at a front desk or at an MA at a plastic surgery center or other OR too get my foot in the door. This was all great info!

Do you recommend taking the nclex after your ADN ? Or after getting your BSN ? I am aiming for both degrees but I was wondering when to take the nclex !

I’m currently in college to be able to get my BSN degree and I’m in my second semester of college right now I’m in Bio but for some reason I feel like I’m doing nothing to be an aesthetic nurse . I know it’s all about the process but since I’m not learning anything about aesthetic nursing right now I’m taking the main classes I need for my nursing pathway I’m so in my head and I feel so far away from being an aesthetic nurse and owning my own med spa one day
I know sometimes it can feel like life is stagnant but I promise you that it'll come with time! When I was working at the hospital, I felt so stuck and was making no progress. But once you start applying, taking training courses, and learning - it'll come to you! Put in the effort and you will land a job. :) Best of luck!

I am licensed master esthetician, and I really want to be an esthetic nurse to do injections. I am 35 years old and have a foreign bachelor degree in electrical engineering. Do you think I have to start from the beginning and learn all those classes I already took in other country like math. Or can they count those credits somehow?

I have a cosmetology license. Do you happen to know if I could get a nursing degree and become a cosmetic nurse this way? Or does it have to be esthetician license? I’ve tried looking it up but all of this doesn’t seem to be super clear!
To become a cosmetic nurse you do need to go to nursing school. Estheticians aren’t able to do many things that nurses can

As long as you have a valid registered nurse license, you can get into aesthetic nursing.
Would you recommend taking any certification courses or work internships to build your aesthetic nursing resume while in school?
Hi Nicole! You can start by taking online courses to gain knowledge. I believe you must have a RN license to take a hands on course.
What did you include in the emails you sent out to the clinics?
I was an operating room nurse looking for an opportunity to learn/train/shadow and ask if there are any positions available!
on the internet it says that it takes about 4-7 years if not more to become a regular aesthetic injector, and according to my calculations i dont wanna start being one at 30, and im wondering how u became one at 23
I went to college at 18 and finished nursing school at 22. Then after that, I landed my job at a plastic surgery center! So in total 5 years from the beginning of my school journey.
So you can be an RN and be an aesthetic nurse? Or do you have to be an NP in order to become an aesthetic nurse?
It depends on what state you're in. Some states don't let you inject unless you're an NP. Some states let you inject as an RN but only under direct supervision of an MD.

Yeah you have to be an RN to because a aesthetic nurse but to be an aesthetic nurse practitioner, you need a master's after your nursing degree
There is scope for males to working in this department
So aesthetic nurse is it a degree or its just an experience!!
It is a specialty within nursing just like medsurg, ICU, ER, etc. So you must graduate with a nursing degree and obtain nursing licensure.
