What's YOUR favorite Final Fantasy Main character and why? Maybe there's some important trait I completely miss of any of them, let me know
This is nice idea, Dro. Perfect for a Final Fantasy fan like yourself. I've been searching for a Final Fantasy video done in this manner, by someone like yourself. I'm excited to see more.
Asking me who my favourite protagonist in the series is would only cause me stress, since there are plenty of amazing ones, all of whom come with their own distinct flavour and some level of charm. And *certain* individuals will not be pleased with some of my choices, that's for sure. But I'm used to the tantrums by now. The stories these characters tell intrigue and leave a memorable mark on me. But it's not just their stories that I enjoy, how well they play is also a huge factor, since they're in a videogame. How much they add to the battle system and overall gameplay is quite important to me. My favourite protagonists are not only fun to watch, but also fun to control. That's the combination I love most. Even better when their gameplay perfectly fits with their character. Final Fantasy is quite skilled at creating such characters. As the series continues to evolve, more and more great leads will grace it. I think Clive Rosfield is a great example of this. He's amazing, in my opinion.
And here I thought Lightning is your favorite.
Mine's Noctis but it's a hard choice. Plenty of great lads and ladies.
Thank you! I have many categories already written and realized that is a perfect excuse just to talk about all of them without getting sweaty or superior about it with that "my character is better than yours" attitude.
Isn't it fun tho? lmao, My favorite character of all time is Cloud, so while it seems that my answer is easy, in every other aspect that he is not involved, the answer will never be easy, from music themes, to places, to moments, to looks, to style, I can never decide.
It's a good point that there should be something that follows the character behind in terms of gameplay because after all, these are videogames, not just stories, that's why Lightning climbs up to my 2nd place probably, LR is very close to my heart.
Watching Terra's moments and her music reminded me how much I like her. Her theme is so good and I remember her because of it 🎶
I love her because she is dramatic in her speech. I personally will always consider her the main character of FFVI, I can't help it
@@DroWarriorOfLight For sure, I don't know how much I love the possibility of she being put too much in the World of Ruin but always considered her the main one, even if I love the other guys
Old Noctis was always a favorite of mine, so seeing a character like Clive mostly in his late 20s early 30s was super nice, I enjoyed it
I enjoy FF15 a lot lately, and while I play NG+, I'm glad I can get the royal outfti of the last chapter, but I wish I keep the beard and look lmao
Parents dying is really a common thing now that you've mentioned that.
Bartz? Parents dead so he goes on adventure.
Cloud? Mother killed in Nibelheim.
Tidus and Yuna? Fathers died on the last pilgrimage.
Vaan and Penelo? Orphans.
Ashe? Royal father murdered. Sorry for setting up this assassination.
Noctis and Gladiolus? Drautos killed both King and Shield.
And so on.
And then there's Balthier who kills his father.
It's really funny (it's not, it's tragic) when you start doing the summary.
Cecil? Lunarian dead missing, raised by the king
Terra? ooh boy, it'd be a shame if the empire kill your parents
Squall? Mother immediatly dies and end up in orphanage as he's father is not there
Firion? Raised by his friends' family
It never stops
WoL & Onion: unknown
Zidane: at least has a decent adoptive family

Of course , as the reference lover that I am, that game made a callback for each stage and reused stuff from Dissidia, how can I not? 🤣

And, there you have it. These are My Most Favorite Epic Final Fantasy Heroes throughout the years, of the *FF* Gaming franchises.
A huge missed opportunity was an interaction between noctis and lightning in NT instead they had him paired up with Cecil and the warrior of light while lightning is paired up with Squall who is basically male version of her
Honestly, I genuinely think that everyone wanted to pair up Lightning with everyone at some point lmao, it's funny to me, she can be slightly combined with Noctis, then with Squall, then with Firion, maybe Cloud etc. (and I don't blame them, I'm a fanboy of her)
On some level Vaan shouldn't even be 12's protagonist. In the remastered zodiac trailer he's not even in it😂
Vaan is a street boy who is a protagonist of many sidequests but more of an observer for the main story. It's protagonists are Basch, Ashe and Balthier. Vaan is just a cool guy and basically serves as "the player's eyes".
It's interesting, they certainly go most of the time as a group, and the Ashe/Basch is the kingdom duo fighting Vayne here, Balthier/Fraan the sky pirate duo, and Vaan/Penelo the young duo whose hometown was the one ruined and they were caught in the middle of it.
That's why I say that sometimes Iconography is as important, and to have 1 character to stand above the rest could be good for the game instead
