I'm an atheist and I always try to tolerate other people's religious beliefs especially if they are moderate practitioners of faith. But one thing I can't stand are religious fundamentalists who try to force their beliefs onto others. 😒
Amateur Professional I understand what your saying, it is annoying I'm catholic but you don't see me going around asking people to join. No! I respect people beliefs not matter if you believe or not, we all must respect each other because we all know it's just a non stop clash. It's best just to avoid problems.
Shhh! It's forbidden to have respect here!
The Centre lmao true
Amateur Professional what do you consider "fundamentalist "?
That boii Tony why don't you evangelise?
Atheist here. Free thinking should be encouraged not punished. I feel for anyone who has to hide it.
do people need to be free thinker ? you could live your life without being free thinker, you could escape suffering without being thinker or atheist , you definetely could fight your goverment oppression as a religious person , you dont need to be an atheist to be a good docter and something along those lines ...that exactly the argument atheist always throw at religious people but at those case they use God...
And addressing your comment.... why should free thinkers should be encouraged not punished? those who have a power ... they win wether through love or fear , these two values controlling human being in many ways .... not discrimating wether you are religious or not ...the point is you are no different to those religious people
Well thats not an attack but i try to argue ...
Nothing wrong with being religous. I know and work with them, all good people luckily and if on topic can share my opinions usually without receiving an angry or frustrated look. It would be hard and probably unfair to judge somebody about something they are born as anyway. We all have our good and bad in any group.
I was just trying to speak to the fact people are shunned, disowned and in some places persecuted and killed for questioning Gods existence or choosing another one.
It's just ridiculous if we think what we are fighting about. Taking old scripture as evidence in many cases. Trusting in prophets who really compared to us had not a clue how things worked, could have had severe mental issues, a bad mushroom trip when they "spoke to god" or likely were just manipulative people. Ofcourse we don't know.
I never thought some pretend god(s) we couldn't see evidence of or lack of belief in one was worth hating someone over.
Too long... Oops
@@jimjimson9124 "somebody about something they are born as anyway" so do you believe that much in structure? we cannot broke the structure ? Thats exactly what many atheist said ," they are religious because they are born that way" this argument is flawed because people beliefs constantly challenged , yet they CHOOSE to maintain it, defend it , and yet some choose to change their belief , including atheist to christianity or islam for example...
" I was just trying to speak to the fact people are shunned, disowned and in some places persecuted and killed for questioning Gods existence or choosing another one.
" this is exactly what my first paragraph addressed
Whats good and bad anyway ... you are no different to the religious people , you all just trying to protect what is important to you .... the different they are protecting their faith , you are protecting your body or heart or mind etc... You have different value ... and through your comment you try to interfere religous people value same as religious people .
"It's just ridiculous if we think what we are fighting about. "
And if you think about escape route the atheist , agnostic , and non religious people takes , its just ridiculous... How ? they cant even prove the good and the bad ... yet they choose to have faith in some form of morality that they cant prove that it is OBJECTIVE , they choose to obey that morales... same thing , your "god" is human life , and you build your values around that "god" same as a religious people
@@jimjimson9124it's too long sorry haha "Taking old scripture as evidence in many cases. Trusting in prophets who really compared to us had not a clue how things worked"
Depend on which prophet , my prophet knows exactly how thing works , he conquered the entire arabia , you know who is he, his people loves him etc, although some many people hates him ,but hey its just like when christian hate atheist who tried to reform society, your point about how they didnt know how things works is debunked....
Second , you said those prophet didnt know how things work because you expect them to follow your rule , your mindset,.... meanwhile thats the exactly the opposite of what they are meant to do , you are told to follow the One who make everything exist (of course this come to debate about existance of God , but thats not the point of this discussion ) , rather to follow your body , your hearts , or your ideology , mindset etc
"could have had severe mental issues, a bad mushroom trip when they "spoke to god" or likely were just manipulative people. Ofcourse we don't know. "
When this prophet talking about something that out of this world , and claiming it is true you better ask him , is this your theory? if he said yes , then he is philoshoper , no prophet is philosopher ... for example buddha , he is more of philosopher than prophet... If he said the other person told me , then of course he is not the prophet, if he said this is what God told me ... then it has three possibility , either he was liar , people with psychological issues , or he is saying truth...
I found in my research that he was not liar , or even mentally sick people (this is what his people accuse him with tho haha) , SOME people accuse him with those label , because they "enter the house through the back door" i mean they learn about the law , before even learn about God , meaning of Obeying the creator of all things etc etc or they just of what he teach , his people hate him when he reject , deny , defy paganism. about me i believe in it firmly , I KNOW IT
"I never thought some pretend god(s) we couldn't see evidence of or lack of belief in one was worth hating someone over.
"
hatred has many level , of course it depend on which people ... I mean you must be hate somebody who is doing something stupid or contradictory to your values , you hate it but you just hope those people leave that , well thats no different to me... and your point is comeback to the" what is good or bad "
@@tristan4611 Why is it wrong ? bruh im sorry ... but you just take a step back in this conversation , my comment is literally address your comment now ... before deem anything as a bad thing lets try to discuss what is evil and good... your entire point is entirely religious before we discuss and decide what is good and evil , you just belief ... you said religious people doesnt think , here i think further beyond ...
second thing , the problem with overall idea that i can dig from your statement is that ... "if two groups fighting each other , dont take the sides or takes new side or create it , it just make you feel more true" ... liberal or conservative fighting each other , lets become apolitical or be centrist so on and so forth. thats the problem ...Thats because you are too lazy to decide which sides is true ... i mean some people , talking about how great our mind , yet they are too lazy to find which one is true... so they choose a side that makes them feel safe or ease ... your mentality is ... im really sorry ... sheep mentality or herd wtv .
that is why people in their song or slogan or stories keep telling about future future , better future, new , new ...
because everything in the past is always going at each other or deemed inaccessable , im not talking only about medieval era .... or they always condemn past becuase we are not in the past rather in present , so in order to make the present is better is deemed the past as bad , and present as okay... and to make ourself even feels more better , we deemed our future as best ... just think something other than ours is bad to make ours is better , and think something we may get later as better to make us work , stagnation is boring to human nature , thats it . you can find it in everyday lifes...
Anyway people didnt think something is true or think something is wrong because they bring their needs or idol , bias in , i mean like , you decide which religion is true based on how peaceful it is , or based on how it could progress the human being , or that can created the better place , because based on that’s why your statement " thats why there are so many civil wars and stuff" is wrong.... it because we have different value , we love and hate , you and i ... but our version is different , its just our core belief is different , hence our good and bad is different...
i dont obey my human nature in an extreme level like you

To be an atheist in Saudi Arabia is the worst. I have to pretend to be a Muslim every day. I wish I could reveal the truth about who I am and what I believe in and live freely.
Edit: some clarification..
It is true that there is a penalty for leaving Islam in Saudi Arabia, but it never applies. The government leaves you alone on the condition that you don’t offend or say anything about the Islamic religion, anything that might upset the people. (In fact, the government these days has changed a lot of laws and is trying to change other laws as well, and trying hard to change the thinking of some extremist people. But people are still hard to change).
So, my greatest suffering is with the community, because it never accepts you. If you declare that you have left Islam, you can lose everything your family and friends and you will be ostracized. They will fight you in every possible way, you will never feel safe. You just can’t be different.

And slovakia is also quite religious
I think that the reason for the Czechs to be so non-religious is the fact that their historical leader Jan Hus, himself a priest, was so brutally killed by the Catholic authorities in 1415. This initiated a long struggle for national identity and independence, that lasted 5 centuries. The memory of Hus's fate is perceived as Church's betrayal, enough for the Czechs to keep the catholic church at bay. Many in Poland followed Czechs' example for some 100 years establishing a progressive movement, called "Arianie",. This movement was unfortunately crushed by the Church, just establishing Church's power over the minds of the Polish people.

Saying that atheism is the same as religion because 'you BELIEVE that God does not exist' is like saying that NOT collecting stamps is a hobby.
Lack of logic here.
Flacklp I work in science and am also religious. Trust me, if blind faith is a mark of religion, atheists are often fanatically religious.
Most atheists don't believe that any god doesn't exist. We can't prove that therefore the position is "I don't believe in any god or gods", which is different to "I believe there is no god or gods".
When you say "there is no god nor gods", you have the burden of proof for that statement. "I don't believe in any god or gods" doesn't have a burden of proof, other than maybe refute arguments made one way or the other.
Someone tells you "A, B, and C, therefore god", you tell them "no, because of this and that" and you refute that argument but didn't prove there is no god, just that that argument was invalid. Saying that "there is no god nor gods because no one can prove them" is a fallacy, an argument from ignorance. As is the other way around "you can't prove there is no god" ("I wasn't trying to" should be the answer) "therefore god exists" is ALSO an argument from ignorance.
That is called Agnosticism. Also, there are different reasons for atheism. Some go out of there way to say that there is no higher power and wind up falling to the same close-minded traps as the religious people they make fun of. Others firmly believe that there is no God because they strictly only believe in the probable, which is actually a big problem in some fields of science where you need to think outside the box, but also lets them not stretch the meaning of their conclusions.
That's not Agnosticism. Agnosticism answer the question "Do you know whether there are god or gods?" If you say "no" then you're agnostic, if you answer "yes" then you're gnostic.
Atheism answer the question "Do you believe in God (or Allah, or Thor, or Ra, or Quetzalcoatl, etc)?", and there are 3 answers: "yes," "no," and "there is no god or gods". Most atheists (myself in that group) take the second option and say "I don't believe in the existence of any god or gods", which again is NOT the same same as "I believe there is NO god or gods" (a position which could be called "anti-theism") and THOSE people have the burden of proof to effectively prove that "there is no god (or gods)", a burden of proof comparable (or heavier) to that of theist.
I'll refer you to Cosmic Skeptic or Rationality Rules for more info.
"Having proof of non existence of God"
Believers unable to get any rational proof of God's existence is a proof of him not existing in itself. Be logical instead of following what forefathers said blindly.

Legend has it that, on the night Siddhartha was conceived, Queen Maya dreamt that a white elephant with six white tusks entered her right side,[122][123] and ten months later[124] Siddhartha was born. As was the Shakya tradition, when his mother Queen Maya became pregnant, she left Kapilavastu for her father's kingdom to give birth. The earliest Buddhist sources state that the Buddha was born to an aristocratic Kshatriya (Pali: khattiya) family called Gotama (Sanskrit: Gautama), who were part of the Shakyas, a tribe of rice-farmers living near the modern border of India and Nepal.[125][60][126][note 10] His father Śuddhodana was "an elected chief of the Shakya clan",[8] whose capital was Kapilavastu, and who were later annexed by the growing Kingdom of Kosala during the Buddha's lifetime. True. I'm french and almost every person I know don't have a religion. In fact, a big majority of the youth is atheist...
Yeah here in Spain the Religious festivities are mostly a excuse to Party, there are some people that still belive but they are mostly middle age or elders

I definately say that
The World would be more beautiful without any religion🙏
Religion, in my opinion, was created to control people and prevent them from discovering, learning about and depicting "forbidden" content such as science.
Religions prevent us, as humanity, to dive deep into science and explore the unknown in our universe.
Respect everyone who is religious, regardless of the religion, but I think that there is no defined way of proving g(G)od's existence

Atheism & non-religious is the fastest growing among the educated youth & the internet is one of the main reasons.
I agree. Its a beautiful thing. To see younger and younger generations with instant access to information and data. Its a huge paradigm shift in humanity that will lead to progress.

I agree with N. S
@N S Christianity is anything but a religion of peace in Southern Africa, every other sect worshipping fairy tales has a tendency for repressing others. Whether that fairy tale is religion, or the cults of personality that are China, North Korea and the former USSR.
@N S None in fact, nothing is ever absolute. There is likely always a slightly better explanation for anything we ever discover, but till then we make due with the most accurate explanations we have.
