suggestion, I might be wrong though : if you set the label to clip instead of repeat, you wouldn't have the issue you had after scaling, since the UV islands out of the texture box would be transparent by default.
Thank you very much! I watched a million videos on how to make a normal label for a bottle, all of them were wrong and crooked. Thank God I found your video, you are a genius!
This was so unbelievably helpful! I am newish to blender and I always struggle with UV-unwrapping transparent labels onto products, but this helped so much! I'm favouriting so I can keep coming back to it. Thank you for taking the time to put this together! :)
In 4.2 Blend Mode has been replaced with Render Method and "Aplha Blend" with "Blended", Materials -> Viewport Display -> Settings -> Render Method -> Blended
I tried every technique out there for an obj exported from another 3D program with lots of faces, none worked. Yours is the only one that works. Thanks
You absolutely can! Make sure to parent the whole thing to an empty before moving it around. If you try to join everything using ctrl+J it's going to break.
I tried adding the PNG with black Icon and connect it to the main object color, the png makes the object (originally white and glass like) become dark glass.
So the label I’m trying to apply is circular. Whenever I tried your method, bringing the imagine into the face of the bottle turns the label upside down and very stretched when it’s on the bottle. Any tips?? 😢 im not sure what I’m doing wrong. I went to UV wrapping to mess with it but it’s still upside down.
In order to resolve the stretching, connect a checker map to your label object and rescale the UV's till the checkers look correct. To turn the label right side up, select the UV's and rotate them till the desired orientation is achieved. Hope this helps.
Just gonna leave this here for anyone else struggling with the same issue. The mapping node can be found in the shader editor (Shift+F3). N.B. The other editors also share the same hotkey. So toggle through them till you land on the shader editor.
This shit is not working! I have followed all of the steps the texture gets warped no matter what ant keeps repeating itself the only way to stop that is to change the UV scale but then it will distort even more!
Go to your image texture node in the node editor and change the third option from repeat to clip. Double check to also see if your texture coordinate is set to UV. Let me know if this helps. GL

Yup! You're absolutely right. Setting the image texture to clip solves the issue after scaling.

Thanks! You're most welcome!
Thanks! Shrink wrapping is really clever!

Thanks for highlighting this!
thanks a lot!

You're welcome! Glad it worked out.
Thank you bro! Simple, fast and functional.
Just spent 3 hours trying to sort this - thank you so much !!!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much! This tutorial was insanely helpful!
Thanks. Simple but to the point.
thank you!! you're helping me so much xx
This tutorial is goated
Great tutorial :)
Thank you much!. Is it possible to move the object and the label after using the shrinkwrap modifier without it deforming ?

Here's a quick demo ruclips.net/video/rk7z_a3oG0U/видео.html
Hero! Thank you
thanks for the tutorial bro 👍

If you continue to encounter challenges post the issue/s you are facing on the channels discord group.
Thank you very useful 👍
Amazing tuto many thanks for help but do you have any idea how to make a real hot foil please...thanks a gain
Thanks! Just post an image of what you are trying to emulate on the discord group and I'll have a crack at it. discord.gg/j6xWUFEYPt
I dont understand the controll T command to access the image texture mode. i'm on a mac when I hit command T nothing comes up
Check if you have node wrangler enabled.
How do make the label (only alpha part) will be a little bit embossed you know, from the bottle? like a real sticker would.
I've addressed it in this video: ruclips.net/video/LWXeIsn-pA8/видео.html
amazing tutorial
Check your mapping node to see if the scale is set to -1. That's one reason for the text to appear mirrored.
@@Art-of-Akrosh thank you s much for your answer, i am quite new to blender. Where do i find the mapping node?
i found it thank you so much! amazing video

nice thanks

ctrl+t doesn't work
Ctrl + , will bring up your preferences. Search for node wrangler under add-ons and enable it. Ctrl + T will work after that.

Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
