Probably the best review I've seen for these bikes on youtube. I've seen a looot reviews, but I heard some things for the very first time about these bikes! I really like your way of expressing as well. Thumbs up from me!
Have a 2012 XR with an aftermarket can and remapping. There is no flat spot anymore and it sounds really good. Outstanding linear power increase starting all the way down from 2,000 rpm to the top. Great sport bike handling and corner exit power on the XR and good dirt road ability as well. Very happy.
I have a 2014 Tiger800XR , 55k on the odo, I do travel a lot of long distances with it (fully loaded with a pillion) and do some off-roading as well. It is a great all purpose bike, especially if you have good tires on it (I use TKC70s). I highly recommend the older models, before the 'ride-by-wire' and 'tft screen' features as it is easier and cheaper to maintain.
Really a great review. As has been said, you don't say good or bad, just which areas each one lags and the other excels. Many thanks, and yes I will check out your website.
Still loving my 2013 800xc for all season, all terrain riding with 35k on the odo. The key to the XC (and XCx presumably) is tire choice appropriate to your intended uses. For me: Shinko 705 tires are a great 70/30 if you're a street rider with occasional dirt --- very sporty tire you can rip on tarmac -- while Mitas E-07 tires are great 50/50 if you really want to seriously ride dirt but still have good road manners. Beyond that, aside from some basic protection add-ons like AltRider bash plate and crash bars, the XC is a great all-rouder with ABS.
Hi, I also have a 2012 xc, with heidenau k60 and not complaints. But what do you think about k60 vs mitas 07? (I'm 50/50 guy) thanks. Greetings from NYC.
Nice review. I enjoy the channel reviews in general :-) I am torn between the KTM1050, BMW F800GSA, Triumph Tiger XCX... Seeing that you have had the opportunity to ride all of these, which would be the best all-round option for a 50/50 split between road and off-road use ? ( will also have a pillion rider every now and then ) Would really appreciate your insight. Cheers and keep up the good work !
I like the take on XR vs XC for offroading. You could have included even more head2head comparisons though - now it came down to that both were ok with some small differences, but celarly there must have been situations where one outperformed the other more clearly ? :)
Klas Färd Hi Klas, there we situations where they out-performed each other. If you go to www.brake-magazine.com you can read the in-depth review, that covers the finer points. :)
1.274 million u-turns! haaaa haaa haaaa...thank you for the review. I am in the market and will be a new rider. I want something I can get on for a quick cruise down Highway 1 to Big Sure, CA and I feel like taking the road less traveled up into the mountains, I want something that could easily do that. I have been steered this way by a friend and local salesman.
That's funny. One of the things I remembered watching the video is how the point was made what brand helmets the guys were wearing. Better just watch it again, this time with your eyes actually open.
great review, thank you, triumph just don't seem to want to update their system or those horrible clocks. shame as i am looking for a 2 up tourer and my partner likes the looks.
Great production but again, lower music volume more bike sound. Especially a Triumph video mate that's why we own them. I know. I'm on my 5th Triple. '12 Tiger 800
Unfortunately "Triumph Italy" has not approved wheels are suitable to use the Tiger 800 XC / XCX / XCA in the land for which has been designed this fantastic bike. The only possible use in Italy is on an asphalt road. OFF road is absolutely not possible because of the lack of approval of suitable tires. Shame to see that the rest of the world does not have these problems ... Perhaps the problem is due only to the managers of Italian Triumph.
Great review as usual except for one item as usual: sound. You try so hard to make a pleasant music video that you neglect your audience. You even talk about how great Triumph triples sound but do we get to hear it? Not so much. It's very much a part of motorcycling and one of only two mediums you have available to you on a video. Step it up Brake. This is not MTV.
Good explanation of the bikes mate! Thanks! 👍 But do you Honestly think their engines Sound Great???? You don't think it is closer to an electric egg mixer than a motorcycle??! (I love Triumphs by the way - I just can't get over that winging winding squeaking squealing noise it makes. Just horrible. Sorry mate. It is Horrible.
I can't help wonder why you take the trouble to comment twice about the engine sound. Obviously, it's not your cup of tea. Others, myself included, feel differently. In fact, I find the sound a lovely sound track for how the bike moves through space. Sorry you're not experiencing that. Maybe it's not the right bike for you.
I would rather have a review be about the sound of the bike and comments made by who ever is doing the review. This music video version of reviews are irritating and not needed!
After riding all sorts of motorcycles for 30 years - I am Shocked that Triumph still hasn't sorted out this squealing noise of the Tigers. I honestly don't know how their gave it that name and allowed the production while engine making that cheering horror. Triumph - WAKE UP. Pull cotton wool out of your ears! Apart from that - bikes are awesome. 👍
Well made video, I could have done without the sappy music in the background. It distracts from the overall message of the film instead of adding to it. Cheers.
Personally I hated the engine high pitched sound, disconnected feeling from throttle to engine thanks to stupid fly by wire feature, no torque at low revs etc etc. IMO Tiger is OK only for road use and it's definitely overpriced.
Enduro Riders Just did over 2000 miles in VT and NH on my XCx. All on road, bike is fantastic. Even with the 21" front tire it handles great in the twisties. The adjustable WP suspension IMO is very nice and makes all the difference once you find the settings you like for your riding style.
+dasboot my only experience with on road off road is on a Vstrom 650 and the Tiger 800 XCx. So many bikes are capable of what you are looking for. Tiger, vstrom, DR400/650, KLR, KTM 690.
Probably the best review I've seen for these bikes on youtube. I've seen a looot reviews, but I heard some things for the very first time about these bikes! I really like your way of expressing as well. Thumbs up from me!
+nk0surfer We thank you very much! Don't forget to subscribe!
Its October 2021 and I find this review very accurate. I own a 2016 XRX and I could not agree more. Spot on, honest review.

It's be interesting to ride that.
What do you think about the cast-wheels? How much off-road can they handle? Any fear they could break?
really like the review, no black or whites, goods and bads.. just perspective.. clean and well put...

Finally an honest review.
Indeed. Great review and camera work too. Full marks.
Would be interesting to see an update with the new 2018 versions with the modified engine characteristics and many other improvements
Jonathan , great review . Well presented.
Sounds like very honest review
amazing video review, keep up with the good work
Very nice!
Buddy ♥️

Andy Rea Get the XCx the WP suspension alone is worth it. The XRx model suspension is not adjustable.
Is it possible to change the mag wheels of xcx into a spork wheel as the xrx has ...
Thanks for the video, looking at a 2015 XRX to purchase, 8K Miles on her.
What kind of helmets you guys using in this video? Cheers...
That's funny. One of the things I remembered watching the video is how the point was made what brand helmets the guys were wearing. Better just watch it again, this time with your eyes actually open.
Like that i felt i got an honest opinion, good vid
great review, thank you, triumph just don't seem to want to update their system or those horrible clocks. shame as i am looking for a 2 up tourer and my partner likes the looks.
I would say that is very different on the tiger with TFT. It's a much better, more user friendly design.
different review... I like it. thx for sharing
A 660 xrc/xrx would be insane! 😎
great review but how do u compare it with africa twin
Nice! What could say about the tiger 800 xca?
Great reviews and website! Is there a reason you didn't rate the tigers on your website?
Go easy on the background music...geesh. Otherwise informative review.
Sorry for that. We're getting better with the understanding of sound levels!
What tyres would you recommend for the XRX mixed use?
Great production but again, lower music volume more bike sound. Especially a Triumph video mate that's why we own them. I know. I'm on my 5th Triple. '12 Tiger 800
great video, i would like to know what the song of the video?
The first song is Titled Young by The Bold Love, another group from Brisbane.

filmed on and near the black mountain in south Wales??
+threepot You are correct! It's where we are based.

what off road tyres were fitted during this film? thanks
+Oliver Crowie We had Mitas E07's on the XRx and E10's on the XCx.
We rode both bikes on the stock tyres and the dual use tyres on the road.

Point taken! Thanks for the feedback :)
Agree. Music in a review ruins part of the review -- a bike's sound. Music is fine for motovlog. ;)
Does anyone know what helmet is the yellow one?
It's a Touratech Aventuro. :)
Would have been a great review without the annoying and badly selected background music.
song please?
The first song is Titled Young by The Bold Love, another group from Brisbane.
thank you Jeff

I would subscribe but the music dosen't let me...
No diesel?

In that price range i would never choose Triumph.I would go for a KTM

Get a real adv, a bmw gs or ktm adventure, not this triumph bullshiut
Even Triumphs good
