An ultrasonic cleaner makes a huge difference to the time it takes to clean these parts and walnut blasting (or you can use baking soda) gets the area around the intake valves really clean. If you are taking the inlet manifold off, you should recommend to the client they get the coolant bypass pipe replaced with a steel unit, this saves the head when the plastic one starts leaking. And if the client doesn't know if they have been done, the injector seat washers MUST be replaced and the exhaust camshaft checked. Do these 3 things and these engines will go for a long time (with proper maintenance).
