  • This time on Real Auto Reports we have our Real Drives video on the 2015 Dodge Charger SXT Plus All-Wheel Drive (AWD) V6. While the 2015 model year is mainly made up of changes to the Charger's styling, this was a good time to focus on the driving experience of the V6 AWD, especially since it is the only AWD engine option available going forward.
    Join us as we discuss the driving characteristics of this 2015 Dodge Charger SXT Plus AWD with the Pentastar V6. Near $39,000, this urban compact vehicle might just make your 'must-see' test-drive list.

    I really liked this review but if I had initiated a drinking game taking shots every time you said 'from a driving perspective' I might be on my way to feeling very nice right about now. I didn't count or anything it's just that my ears kept queuing in on it like "didn't i just hear that?" I"ll have to give that a try one day - Thanks for the vid.

    Are there other wheel options for the AWD models? The brochure would have you believe that all wheel options are available for all models at cost. However, the "build and price" tool on the site only has the odd looking "19s for the AWD Rallye. Those rims are the car equivalent of orthopedic shoes. Functional, but aesthetically challenged.

      That’s why I put 20” on my rallye.

    Big fucking car. I love it. All compact and mid size family/commoner sedans are idiots to overlook this car.

    would you say that it saves more gas than the v8 models?

      The 3.6 does very well on fuel. The 5.7 depends on how one drives it.

      I'm stuck between this or the RT ... Idk what to choose , I want the v8 for the sound and punch when I wanna use the power but I don't want the gas mileage

    I just bought a 2009 Charger. It was advertised AWD, and as far as I know the mechanic agreed when I brought it in. But it doesn't have any badges saying SXT/SE/RT or anything, so it has to be the base model? But the base model wasn't AWD nor did it have a 3.5l V6. Nothing's matching up in this thing lol. The internet's not being ANY help.

      +Cole Hintermeister I'm fairly certain the 1st gen of the new chargers did not come in AWD. Yours should be RWD.

      +Christian Dietsch My mechanic sounded like it was AWD and the base model doesn't come with a 3.5L V6, but you're right. Nowhere ANYWHERE on the web does it say it could be AWD. Maybe it's not a 2009 lol. It does say "4drive" when I turn it on, so I know it's an AWD with a 3.5l V6. The year must be wrong.

      +Christian Dietsch Its my profile pic (obviously) so maybe you could discern what year it is?

      Unfortunately I can only tell you it'sbetween 06 and '10.

      +Christian Dietsch I just went through and took the time to decode it all myself, and I'm going to check for front CV axels when I get home from a trip. Everything says it is what I thought it was. Just an anomoly.

    For that price you would be crazy not to get a stripped R/T Scat Pack! Its only about $1,000 more than your tester with so much more performance!

    • @oldtwins
      @oldtwins 8 лет назад

      +kickerbeat there are some who do not need the extreme performance. this is still a capable daily driver with the v6 powertrain and is in the full luxury package to go with it that is more meaningful to some. also, you can get the v6 models with huge incentives as the lots are flooded with them, while the 392 models are somewhat rare so no bargain shopping there. so price disparity might be more like 5k difference.

      Loaded AWD SXT models can be had for low to mid 30's.
      Add about $5k for a loaded R/T, and $7500 for a basic Scatpack.

    No AWD in an R/T this year it seems...?

    • @JEMcgrew
      @JEMcgrew  9 лет назад

      Mike Weiss You are correct. AWD is not available in the HEMI R/T in the Charger or the Chrysler 300.

    I'm so tired of watching Charger RUclips videos of people talking in the video. Let's Dukes of Hazard this shit down nasty gravel roads and push it to the limits. The way they use to do it 35-40 years ago!
