I'm going to talk to that part that's perceiving from a place that's not originating in your brain. So, because you have this beautiful body this time around, It comes with it, this whole packet of neurology. This whole nervous system. It's absolutely beautiful, but it distorts, how you perceive, how you understand and most of all, it distorts your own identity. Stay listening from inside your torso. Stay listening from down deep, even deeper than your belly, maybe from your pelvic bowl, if you're listening from there. Drop down. Whatever you've known to be true, always has been true, and you might not find words for it, and there are no words for it, and that's okay, but the neurological setup wants words, labels, understanding, destruction, novelty, change, excitement. It has an insatiable appetite, but that's just the mind. It's just a circuitry of eletrical pathways in your brain. You're not that. Down deep inside you, stay there and if you ask down deep inside you, "well, what's wrong with this? What's wrong with this?", If you get a few sentences of an answer, then your brain has cranked an answer and taken over. You shifted to listening to your brain than the core of your being. So drop right down inside. For most people, when we ask, what's wrong with this, what do you mean now? You might get no answer, you might get the word 'nothing'. So try to lineup your brain and that inner knowing that's inside you. If we can encourage our brain to bow down to that inner wisdom that's inside us. if we can change the sequence so that the inner wisdom comes first, and that what's created out of matter comes second, one of way of lining them up, is by telling your mind that 'this is as good as it gets'. Your life, your thoughts, your emotions, your bank account, this is as good as it gets. But when the mind is constantly rejecting the way thngs are right now, it's not still enough to drop in into pure consciousness itself, and we tend to look to the mind for answers and the mind only look to external things for answers. So we're off in that circle of being lost in the story of our life. So I want to change the circuitry here with you. Inviting your mind to accept the fact that this is as good as it gets. This is as good as it gets. I remember when the national lottery started in Ireland. They did a study ten years later, looking at the whole phenomenon of lottery winning and what did it do to people. They found that two years after an enormous lottery win, people reverted back to the exact same state of mind prior to the win. They were exactly in the same... it just distracted them for two years, but they were exacly where they were. Whether they had momentary possessions or blew the whole lot, it really didn't matter. They were saying, "Actually I feel the very same as I did before the win" Took two years for the chaos to calm down. There is nothing in the outside world that is going to permanently be an answer for you, be the solution for you. There is nothing that can do it. That's the joke. That's the cosmic play. Nothing on the outside can do it. It can't. If it could, we'd all be queuing up and we'd just be after that thing and it would work. The solution would be something external. It's not. The solution is internal. It is. We know it, but we kinda want something better on the outside simply because we're listening to the mind. We're just listening to the yackity yack of the neurological concoction of impulses. We turn it into story, we give it meaning and say it's important and think it'll make us happy. This is good as it gets. Give your mind permission to accept that this is as good as it gets. Your mind is in service to pure consciousness. Whatever is for you. That which underpins everything. That which is the same in everything. That which moves everything or That which is Nothing with the capital N. It's nothing. Totally nothing, and that's fine too. So what if your mind is to serve the core of your being? Deeper than the gut? You know gut-instinct kinda comes from there, I'm talking about someting deeper. So whether you have some strong intuition or not, go deeper than that. That kind of still solid rock or cushion. It can appear as a cushion. Like a soft landing place. It doesn't have any stories, you see, but yet it is full of wisdom. Yet it directs everything. It just doesn't have to think about it. Doesn't have to think about it. Hurray! and What do we do? We say, "No no no. My mind has to be in charge here 'coz we're so used to having our brains running the show that we don't listen to this automatic movement forward and we imagine that by super-imposing our thinking system on top of it, we do a better job actually. We improve on it. So if this makes sense to you, change the sequence. Is your mind gonna bow down to that which moves everything? You could call it beingness, the core of your being, nothingess, god, the emptiness. Any label at all will do. That inner wisdom. That all-knowing. But it doesn't know what it knows. It's not using labels and words. It's much more refined. That essence, can that be number 1? Can that guide your way forward? Your mind's gonna do its level best to sabotage that but it's upto you. Where are you looking from? Are you down here or are you up in cuckoo land from someplace in the chin up. just crazy whacky fluttering. Yackityak. Any story will do. It's so fickle. Don't listen to it. It will always be busy. but the thing is, let the volume be lower. If there's something else that's deeper thats driving the body-mind mechanism, your character, your personality. Something deeper is actually taking the initiative all the time. It doesn't matter what it'd[brain] say it will automatically be turned down because your attention has gone back to source. It's not just up here from the neck up. Your attention is inside. For some, the attention feels like it's, outside your head even. Behind, back, out there. And for others, I think I've never met somebody that this doesn't work on, so I'm gonna give you this trick for dropping into that place because, for example, you have anxiety, depression or you're worried about something. If your mind is very active, it's very hard to drop in. It's like, gosh you can't find that place. You just caught up in that story. Here's a way to find that seems to work for everybody. Imagine down the side of your body, there's a line. Not the center, but the side. The whole way down. Put your atention behind that mid-line. So it's like you've been sliced from front to back. It's kind of the god place, yeah? It's a great little technique. It does something to our neurology and fumpp! Can you find it? It's a lovely one. The more often your practice it, the more your listening to your mind actually reduces. The volume of the mind goes down because you're not invested in it. All your attention isn't there, promoting to find the new the new, what's next. The speed of your mind slows down, 'coz you're not feeding that with blobs of life. You're not sending your life force there. Put your attention behind that mid-line on the side of your body. And When mind complains about it, here's the thing to tell it, " This is as good as it gets!" It is wired to want more. it's just wired. That's what keeps us going otherwise why would we do anything? It's part of the mechanism that keeps us striving and improving and it's a beautiful part of being human but if you're sitting in a hall like this, you know there's something more. You'll have the maturity enough to continue with your life without not just, "Oh, I'm just gonna lie on the sofa and wait to wake up because I don't have to do anything" Mmm. It's not quite like that. Life continues. Life continues, but where are you looking from? What's driving the ship? And your life might change, and your friends might change, you might find, "Oh god, I have no inner pull at all to go to that event. I kinda need to go to show up to play my performer role." So when these choices come, be brave, have courage. Because you're either about doubting that inner movement or you're doubting your mind, and the game of "something out there will help me to... distract myself" which is help me to gain more, which of course it doesn't. It's always temporary. It's the next one, and the next and the next one. It's exhausting. So a shift in our lifestyle does come. It comes. Somehow it's okay. The fear of it is worse than actually the change itself. The idea, as usual, the mind's version of what'll happen is worse than the actual event itself.
Hey Jac! Just something to share :) There was a sci-fi show from the 1980's called "Tales from the darkside". Even though the episodes are meant to be creepy, they cover a lot of far our topics which resonate and have been great pointers on my path. I have seen most of the episodes atleast once or twice...I watched one today that I haven't seen in a while. Season 2 Episode 11: "Effect and Cause". The scene starts out with a woman named Kate talking to her friend about life, deep contemplating, how everything is fine just the way it is, and even though she is "broke", life is great. Then things start to get a little weird for her...Things and people start to appear for her. They show up before she even knows the reason or that there even was a need for them. There was a scene when an ambulance shows up at her home. They knock on her door and her friend answers...they ask him if someone had fallen down the stairs...5 seconds later, Kate comes to see who was at the door and of course, she falls down the stairs breaking her leg. Then a delivery guy shows up at her home and brings her groceries...everything she needed...and she is very confused. She even tells the guy that it couldn't be for her because she never even placed the order. As the delivery boy reads down the list of items, She opens her cabinets and sees those particular grocery items start to disappear before her eyes...everything that disappeared was exactly what the delivery guy brought and replaced for her. Since she broke her leg, she couldn't drive, but her needs were met reflecting how the absolute is taking care of all of this. As Kate is beginning to understand what is happening, her friend comes over. Kate tries to explain what is going on and says: "Look, what you've got to do is just get rid of all those "SHOULDS" and "OUGHT TO's" that are cluttering your brain...just kinda let things take their own shape" .... all of the sudden her friends car keys go missing. They were right next to him and she literally watched them disappear. Then Kate says: "Your car keys just disappeared! Don't you get it? Things just disappear! Little objects do it all the time, some more than others. I've been experimenting all afternoon. Wallets are terrific, the backs of earrings, car keys. I think it's because little objects aren't held here as strong as others. Or maybe it's because there's only one person involved. It's like this house. This house is held by me, the neighbors, by everyone who has ever lived here, everyone who drives by it. It's not going anywhere" Her friend is excited and says "this is incredible! you can change reality! Imagine if we can bottle this up and sell this?!" Kate responds: "You're not listening to me. It's not about "doing something"...it's about NOT doing anything ...it's about allowing it to happen....I think the secret is, what if there are no rules. What if the universe isn't as orderly as we'd like to think it is. What if it's really random and chaotic? What if we force order into the chaos? Collectively and individually. Then we are the ones who hold reality in place." Her friend says: "But we can't change the basic nature of things which means random things are happening constantly. It's like reality is being zapped all the time" Kate: "And some zaps are so tiny, we don't even notice them and others are so big they change everything, only we change "reality" so it doesn't seem like anything strange ever happened. But now we can SEE IT HAPPEN!" :) it's funny how much truth is actually revealed through "science fiction" and "horror" sources. Especially the really cheesy, low budget shows/movies. Most people would not consider something like that to be an accurate source. just noticing the word "FICTION" might immediately place a limitation on the mind or block the ability of even accepting it as a possibility. Thanks for reading :) Much love Jac! xoxo
